Your Room! - Post New Pictures!

I'd be inclined to agree. Never give a 6th grader free reign on room design. He'll regret it 7 years later, but will be far too lazy to do anything about it. All well, I'm almost out of here.

i have to post pics of my office... it's pretty cluttered right now.

I'm in the midst of re-arranging my Marvel Legends figures and my mint on card WWE Classic Supertars run.

I'll get the digi and snap a few for you guys.

I have my corner PC desk... with a 13 inch TV sitting on top of it. To game and work at the same time. Fun stuff.

And all of my wife's comic book based Barbie dolls... shudder

Haha, so you like the Nemo, but don't? :lol

I've got a poster with all of the characters in the film in one that is leagues better. Bruce, the Whale, Marlin/Dory, the sharks, the turtles, etc. Best Poster Ever. And I have a Nemo stuffed animal in a net hanging from some moulding. And an awesome Incredibles poster off of EBay.

I'm so glad I don't have a good enough camera to take a decent pic of my room. It looks absolutely horrendous all the time. Even if I got everything off the floor it would still be a wreck. I keep throwing shit away and it gets replaced by even more shit.

I was going to take some pictures of my room to post here, but unfortunately during the process, Godzilla went on a murderous rampage. =O

Are you gay Oli?

No straight man could have a room that clean.
well actually, oli's room is possibly the most suitable for bringing a girl into out of all the ones posted here.

edit: oh wait... i just saw Great King Bowser's room. That's another great room for bring girls to as well.

I cleaned up my room quite a bit thanks to this thread, pics forthcoming!
yep, me too. I'll get started in about 15 minutes :/

It'll be good for before and after shots.

The rest of you are out of control though :lol Put your huge-ass collection of DVDs, games or manga in a cabinet with closing doors. At best it just looks tacky and ugly, at worst it makes you look like dork-of-the-century. Obviously some folks here are too far gone to do anything, but the rest can make a change before it's too late ;)

Hey dude, I'm different from the others, because I am meant to be chaotic. And also, I look at the sealed Stanley Kubrick boxset everytime I need to remind myself what genius really is.

But I am frowned, no one noticed the beautiful painting on my wall. :(

It's like you sucked the thoughts out of my mind. The worst i've got are some toys i've gotten from cereal packets lined on top of my monitor. I think that's allowable.

That's it. I'm going to redecorate. I'm starting right now. Ecco poster goes. Dragon poster goes. Ferrari poster can stay, for now. Lucille Ball stamp-plate goes to the closet. The lion etching is cool, I'll keep that. Everything that resembles a book or magazine will either go to my closet, or be thrown away, unless I absolutely need it for school.

I will have a leaner, cleaner, better room...

:lol

Damn Chitta wins. I feel bad for anyone else posting pics after his.

I'm not going to take pictures of my dresser since it's covered in clothes right now. One of my projects -- if I ever find time -- is to donate some of my old clothes to Goodwill to make some room, but it's been a low priority.

And yes, the flash was doing some weird things to the lighting. :(

Seriously, I feel the same way. Even though this is an internet forum, and don't care too much about what people think... my room is just a little too messy and embarassing to post. It's in a total state of disaster. I'm ditching a lot of stuff. I'm reorganizing. I want some new furniture; a new PC desk, and a huge shelving unit for all of my DVDs and CDs. I want to paint my room with a fresh coat of paint. I want new drapes. Posters are coming down. Different ones are going up. Maybe a little artwork. A plant or two. I'm sick and tired of all this, and I am starting now. I've been wanting a change for a long time, but I think tonight I finally make a stand and commit to doing something about it.

Nice room, jinx. It's simple and effective like mine.

AFTER
entry.jpg

A shot from the entry. That's a traditional Malaysian tapestry piece on the desk. It was a gift from my parents by which I could remember the 1+ year I lived in Malaysia. I was going to hang it on the wall today, but we didn't have the right pin/hook to bear the weight. You may also notice that I removed the pillow to complete the illusion of cleanliness.

corner_view.jpg

A view from the corner where the window meets the wardrobe.

wake_up.jpg

This is what I wake up to each morning/afternoon.

puter.jpg

Where I spend far too much time...

wardrobe_left.jpg

A look in the wardrobe and the skeleton is out! OMG I'M A GEEK! Look closely at most of the things in there and you'll see what i mean. You can also see my boomerang which is there in case of an emergency if Australia is invaded by hostile forces and I have to protect my country. That cardboard box has books, not "steakhouse chips" in it btw. Oh crap... there's that pillow ;P

wardrobe_right.jpg

The other side of the wardrobe.

edit: The difference in lighting is because sometimes i used flash and others i didn't. Without flash you couldn't see shit for some of the shots and with flash everything looked really stark and washed out.

I'm not going to get anything new, at least not yet. I'm going to pare it down. I've already thrown away a whole heap of unsaleable, even undonateable shit, mostly old board games I got 7-10 Christmases ago. I actually took the plastic wrapper off of one of them just to take it apart and recycle/dispose of it. Old books, Erector sets, a calligraphy set, a microscope kit, incomplete model cars... all of it, garbage.

I won't throw out my PS1, because there's life in the old gray box yet, but I've already sold several games and will trade in a few more that aren't worth selling on Amazon. Once I'm through with this process, then I can think about adding things again, slowly.

Yeah I used this thread as an excuse to get my shit together.

Before:

After:

room35qq.jpg

Gained a lot of floor space since STUFF in my room is now evenly dispersed and my tumor will hopefully shrink now that I dont have 2 monitors and a tv next to my brain.

I also re-did the wiring obviously when things were set up. Taking the time to wire and place everything so that should I need to its easy to deal with.

Also I dusted, jesus christ the dust.

Pretty new pic, posted earlier in the "gaming setup" and "cube is back" threads. The link may die at some point, remote linking is forbidden.

Eh, did I actually post that earlier? It must have been so insignifigant in my mind, that I've forgotten about it already.

Oh, I'm just kidding. I actually started to clean my room after I posted that.

Good point. The key is to clean out, then think about adding new items and rearranging things. That is the way I'm planning on working it.

Wow. Guys actually cleaning their rooms and discussing methods of organizing them.

*Has a heart attack* :lol

I could've got that one, but I prefer mine. Too bizzay for my taste.

And you guys forget I haven't put all my games and DVDs out. It won't be girl bring-able for long...

Get the fuck out of this thread.

And Oli, I wouldn't go about changing your room based on the opinions mentioned here. It's your room, you're the one that has to live with it - go with what makes you comfortable. I like the clean, matching furniture look too. I figure the rest of the world is chaotic enough, I like my room to be clean and functional. No wasted space, no wires showing, just an all around comfortable atmosphere. But hey, that's me. If that makes me teh closet h0mersexual, well, I guess I'll have to deal with that in time. My brother likes to accesorize his dorm with two-week old crusted plates and deodorizes his carpet with 'Scent o' Weed'. These are the differences that make the world go 'round. I'll try and post some pictures of mine when I get back from work...

huh? why? because his little bro is in the pic or because he barracks for a team you don't like?

Because I was totally unprepared for a male crotch shot, especially this early in the morning! I'm indifferent to sports in general. It was a sarcastic statement, in reality I love Bowser and drink tea with him on odd weekends.

EyeToy: great webcam, but damn, does it make shitty photos :). Anyway, this is a corner of my room. After this, I gave up.

Did you scratch your TV, or is that just some anamoly that showed up because of the flash? Oh, and cool dog.

My other dog saw something she was interested in....on top of my TV.....well lets just say both of my dogs never touch anything in that area. That scratch is only noticeable on certain movies. Otherwise I never see it.

Yeah, I love the sound system setup, I can run great audio for each game system.

And thanks, hes a killer German Shepherd. Squirrels think they can sneak into my window, don't think so.
