I used to hope for my favourite dead franchises to come back, but then I see what's happened with franchises like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Doctor Who and then I look at current day publishers who would have the power to revive these gaming franchises and what their current quality control and agenda looks like; and I'm happy for them to just stay dead to be honest.

Why play a Banjo game that's not made by the late 90s Rare team? It would be Banjo in name only.

Surely it depends on who's reviving them.

I'd 100% trust modern Capcom with a Dino Crisis revival, especially after the themes dragged Resident Evil back from the dead.

Conversely I mentioned Is like a new NiGHTS, but modern Sonic Team are talentless hacks so they'd probably fuck it up.

Metal gear, hard to say if kojima is still able to write something decent, maybe hire the dude that was keeping him on a leash during the ps1-ps2 era

There is a new Bloodlines game coming out, slated for first half of next year. Unfortunately, all signs are pointing to it being hot garbage, but we may yet be surprised.
