Wow just the thread I need! I've been looking into under armour cold gear jackets, but haven't been able to find much. Anyone here have experience using one that they dont mind sharing?

Purchased this recently with a scarf it keeps me nice and warm.

I don't go out much. I'm pretty used to the cold, though, so sometimes if I'm just driving down the road to get the mail or something, I'll just run out in a t-shirt and pajama pants plus running shoes.

Yes, I'm crazy.

But I normally just wear my normal khaki or cotton pants, a t-shirt, a buttoned shirt and a crappy older winter jacket. Plus running shoes.

You get used to the cold.

Try out patagonia, a little expensive but the quality of their coats is second to none.

Literally love the one that I have.

To save money, think about where in your body you get cold. Also, layers are important. Remember a reverse ONION. Thinnest on the inside, thickest in the outside. You also want to use high quality wool because it doesn't absorb moisture like cotton.

As for what I use in the cold, I have some wool hikers socks from Sam's Club, a Cintas jacket that they issue for airline employees, and a few other things. This stuff is what I wear on a lighter day.

Other times, I pull out the wool peacoat with multiple layers.

Look at Mammut, and other outdoors companies that provide high quality gear besides Northface.

Good outdoors clothing is an investment, so don't be afraid to get one really, really nice piece, as it will last a really long time, most likely.

A UNIQLO just opened here in Chicago and when I visited I realized that when I shopped there in New York I wasn't trying to find anything cute or in style, but functional clothing. So I bought some heattech clothing which will hopefully help me this winter.

I don't own a pair of real shoes at all though, but I've been eyeing this pair of toms boots: http://www.toms.com/women/black-water-resistant-suede-textile-womens-alpa-boots I need something that isn't too pricey but also can keep my feet dry and warm >_<
