I've been a console gamer all my life, but I've always spread out my saves to as many slots as were available. Back when the PS1 was introduced, I would dedicate a whole memory card to a single RPG if it allowed me -- 15 save slots could give you a lot of leeway, after all.
With official Sony memory cards usually at 20-30 bucks a pop, that sounds like an expensive proposition... unless you were in the habit of only playing one game at a time, and erasing your saves after completion. Never mind that some games (usually RPGS) used up multiple blocks for their saves. A game like Persona: Revelations which had 3 block saves would turn 15 potential save slots to a mere 5 (which is still pretty good, all things considered).
I guess what I'm *really* saying is that we're all pretty spoiled these days when it comes to save capacity. I see Napishtim's pages upon pages of save slots and I'm like 'haha wat'.
