How come you all have beef with this guy

A lot of it is overblown I agree, but it comes from a place of disappointment. His ego has done him and Sega tremendous damage. Contrast him with Miyamoto and see how powerful humility can be.

I really like its art direction and what they were going for but man the actual gameplay and platforming was really lacking, the demo was enough for me to be completely putt off by the game.

"Balan" might be a word that has really joyful connotations in Japanese but in English it sounds god awful. It reminds me of Badlands, Bland, Banal.

Or, it sounds like some Indonesian / Malaysian food. Even if it was a good game I can't help but think the name would always have been an impediment.

Just give me a true Power of Coin sequel.
Legend of Coin and Pirates of Coin just weren't anywhere near as good.

It is. But I was sure Balan would flop cause a new "Nights" wouldn't work in this era.

Games have absolutely nothing in common in terms of gameplay.
