Wow!

I pre-ordered this package from overseas (non-UK EU country) and it said 2-5 work days. They sent it the tuesday before launch, and it arrived the following monday ;_;

I was willing to take the risk, so that's that. However the A0 poster was missing and I emailed them, got a response two days later that says "I can confirm we have sent it, you should be receiving it soon" still nothing. Add me to the list of "fuck GAME"

But that's less than 5 work days. Mine was "dispatched" on Nov 18 and I haven't received anything yet.

I feel so lonely being the only one who doesn't think this is a great Zelda at all. :-(.

Are people really that happy with a super easy and very short Zelda game? Like, really OVER the moon? Did the standards drop that low?

This Zelda has the bestest music EVER!!! 11/10! :(

...Did you have any fun with it at all?

I thought it was super fun. But the streamlining is kind of scary. Ever since OoT the series has shrank in scope and ambition. The lack of story and sidequests certainly shows in this entry as well. I think ALBW works well as a handheld title, but obviously wouldn't work as a console title.

I shot people I like more for less.
How the hell do I get into that swamp dungeon!?

you have to take a bomb flower down to that area and blow up the cracked rock. Make sure you have the hookshot so you can shoot yourself over the resulting gap.

I don't even remember the last Nintendo game I played where I had to MAKE DECISIONS as to HOW TO PROGRESS.

About fucking time.

lol yeap I just beat the thief's dungeon <3 <3 <3 <3 When I first got to the second world I played for like 5 hours before starting the first dungeon there... got like 15 hours in with 5 dungeons left...
<3 this fucking game man.

Just beat it. Geez what an amazing game. I can't believe ONE DUDE did the entire soundtrack. What a musical genius.

Had I explored just a little bit more of that map I would have seen this. Thanks.

Ok where the heck is the treasure chest on
1F of Ice Ruin? I have everything else in the dungeon

Even Skyward Sword let you make decisions about how to progress in the 3rd act. Then you got NSMBU where you can chose between level

3 lines instead of one!

I've played LTTP dozens of times and I'm still having a blast getting on sidetrack after sidetrack in the overworld because of the remixing. By comparison, the bland disconnected 'overworld' of SS is by far the worst part of the game.

I'm stumbling on things here in LBW with no sense of order of completion. I'm just adventuring, and it's ridiculously fun.
freaking out that I still haven't found Pegasus boots
. No modern Nintendo game does this anymore.

I don't understand your point at all.

Zelda has always been hilariously easy. (Sans 1 or 2 games, ala Majora's Mask)

My only gripe with the game (and it's minor, or could be major, depending on your level of "Zelda") is the lack of complexity with some dungeons. Starting with LttP and up, I'm used to dungeons being multi-tiered ascending or descending. Most of the Lorule dungeons are just 2-3 floors (save the Ice Palace which is essentially a tower), but I guess that's what made Zelda games feel lengthy outside of the stories?

The longevity of this game is sweet and to the point. Hell, I was surprised they don't even give you a map anymore and the compass is normally the first or second chest you find in each dungeon. They waste no time getting you in and out. Although getting lost in Zelda dungeons (overhead games anyway) can be a bit fun. However I tried to replay TP the other day and I saved in the City in the Sky and I have no idea what I was doing last. So I guess I'm glad dungeon designs have been shrunk down.

Oh man, I was stuck in the Dark Palace, but those puzzles were really good.
Of course being the idiot I am, I couldn't figure them out for the life of me, but I definitely appreciate them.

I love that as the Master's Sword gets more and more powerful, the dying animation of certain enemies speeds up. To the point where they just explode on the spot.

So my question still stands, I'm I supposed to be able to get the upgraded power glove before I take my very first trip to Lorule? Someone said the Desert Palace? I can't seem to get to it in Hyrule.

The overworld music directly after you get the master sword.... wow

Who else noticed the change up? It was incredible.

Just wanted to let you guys know that Hyrule Historia is on sale right now on Amazon for $17. And with the promo code BOOKDEAL, you get another 30% off which brings it down to $12. And with taxes, $13. Not a bad deal if you ask me since normal price is $21+. I finally ordered one just now.

I've been wanting the book for a while now, but I was being cheap. xD Playing A Link Between Worlds put me in the mood to buy it. :)

I finished this last night. Got to say, as I was playing it, I was like "this game is great and all, but I don't feel the amazingness flowing through it (like I did with Wind Waker HD)." But man, that didn't stop me from tackling it almost nonstop this week. Time after time, this franchise proves that even a weaker Zelda game is still better than the majority of games out there. I really did enjoy my time with it. The dungeon designs in particular were very awesome, and I'm honestly surprised that I didn't get stuck anywhere for too long; I typically get stuck at least once or twice in Zelda games and have to take a break to think on it.

Anyway, needless to say I'm riding on a cloud of top-down Zelda right now. I've got Oracle of Ages already, I want that LttP on my 3DS too. Damn you Nintendo and your terrible VC release schedules.

I doubt we will see LTTP on the 3DS. As much as I would adore having it on there they will probably only release that on the Wii U.

This open world stuff in my Zelda is throwing me off. Can someone help me? Lorule spoiler;
just finished my first Lorule dungeon, the thiefs town. What's the suggested next dungeon to hit?

I would try the one in the
bottom left corner of the map
for the item it gives you.

I think that's a missed opportunity for the 3DS, though. I mean, it would compliment A Link Between Worlds perfectly having it on there. I know I would buy it right away.

Wherever your heart takes you.

:p

But I recommend either Desert Palace for
Titan mitts
or Swamp Palace for
Blue tunic
.

If you want a little more input, Seasons has more fighting, and Ages has more puzzles. Ages is generally considered more difficult than Seasons, partially due to the differences in the main conceits. Seasons has a rod that changes the Seasons for an area, so most of the time it's just swapping weather until you can progress past an obstacle that's blocking you. Ages involves traveling between the present and the past and getting stuff done that way. While it doesn't really matter which one you play first, when you finish one, you get a password to input into the other game, which gets you access to certain stronger items eventually, and you also start with an extra heart and the sword if I remember right, so it can make the second game a little easier for you I guess. Granted, I haven't played either in like...10 years or whatever, so perhaps I'm remembering incorrectly :)

Thanks! Sounds like Seasons is the the way to go.

I wasn't sure about this game at first.. but slowly the perspective grew on me more and more (aside from nostalgia) and I really like it. It brings back a lot of memories and feels fantastic to be on the top down again. I love the tunes and so far am enjoying the dungeons (just went to Lorule and completed Thief). I couldn't put it down last night, 9:30 suddenly became past midnight.

I'm not sure where exactly where it clicked that I was having good fun with it, but it feels good traveling the overworld and finding things to do. I feel like I'm playing with several aspects of good Zelda titles in one. It is too easy, but it's Zelda..

I'm about to jump in right now in fact....

So it took me 26 hours to finish the game once, then do it again and finish it 100% on Hero Mode.

Not bad.

Finished the game today. Got all the lost Maiamai but didn't get all the heart pieces (missed 8, including the one near
The tower of Hera
). Fantastic Zelda experience. Hopefully some of the design decisions of this game bleed into the Wii U game.

Some of the maiamai are on rock, how do I get those?

Just finished the third dungeon and have all the pendants. This game is too good. Only found 20 Maiamai and 9 heart pieces so far.

Just finished it. I need more. Sequel, DLC, Alttp on Virtual Console....anything.

Oh, but what they do is to make "A Link Between Awakenings". Or just remake Link's Awakening for the 3DS.

Dark Palace question:

On the topmost floor I have light pouring through all six windows, but on the bottom floor (with the boss door) light is only hitting three of the eyes. I've hit the upper orb in that room so the bit of floor on the left unfolded. What else am I missing?

there's a dark room with two platforms that you can destroy with a bomb. you've visited the room before, but probably missed the platform that's catching the light

This x1000. I don't know why they won't put games like Earthbound or LTTP on the 3DS shop. SNES games on the go would be a huge selling point for me. I would buy a ton. I really don't want to use my consoles and big TV to play retro games.
