Zelda: Skyward Sword LE OOS on Amazon? Seems like it.

So, I thought I would try to pre-order my copy of the limited edition one via Amazon and come to find out, its out of stock. Which really sucks considering I have some credit built up that I was ready to use on it. I know Amazon, they are not going to re-open pre-orders for it sadly enough. Really, this kind of reminds me of last year with the Super Mario All Stars LE.

I can't say for sure, but I really do wonder if this is going to truly be "limited" and its only going to get one run. GameStop, Walmart, and a few others are still taking pre-orders so I went ahead and pre-ordered from GameStop.

So, does anyone expect Nintendo to pull a fast one like last year and start telling retailers to hold off on pre-orders in a few weeks? Or do you think its just Amazon holding off?

And to make it clear, the LE one is the one with a gold Wiimote:

It will definitely be limited in the fact that the first printings will be the only ones with the Anniversary Orchestra CD. I doubt they'll reprint those later.

What does this mean? Amazon reopens preorders for items that sellout all the time. I bought my CE copy of Dark Souls a few days before it came out; after it had gone OOS several time before.

This is pretty weird, I thought for a big release like this they would print enough. :/ I wanted to get the LE...

Seriously?! Damnit to hell, I wanted the CE for it too but like a tard I waited too long. :/

Well, I take some of it back then. I do remember Mario All Stars LE not re-opening at all and then other retailers started closing them off early as well. Granted, that was Mario.

I preordered mine from gamestop (got it as a gift). I am not sure how it works. Are you guaranteed a copy if you preordered it??

Its might well be a order x of standard edition to get y of limited affair. There are French 1st shipment numbers floating around which should give an idea of ratio but I recall it being 30-40%.

You can understand Amazon not wanting a warehouse full of regular editions just to fulfill a few more orders of the limited edition.

Likewise in the UK, GAME Group are making you put down £10 deposit (presumably to stop you running to a better deal) and from what I can gather most stores are being allocated in the 5-10 copies region. Supermarket chain Sainsburys have sold out of copies online though this might to do with the fact they have a 20% off code for new customers that works on pre-orders.

Disclaimer: By limited edition I mean bundle. All first prints (w/CD) can be classed as limited editions.

99% of the time yes. Just show up when they open day of if you are concerned.

I suppose, especially given it costs $20 extra bucks. I just put my order in and I have it set to pick it up in-store. I guess we can always pick it early in the morning lol? :P

you are definitely late to the party, I knew it was going to be out of stock.

Just look somewhere else or keep checking amazon.

Is the actual 3DS system sold out at Amazon.com as well? It's being sold by 3rd party sellers but not directly by them. Maybe they are trying to build up stock for the holidays? It's been like this I think since the beginning of October.

Yeah, they could be waiting on a shipment or maybe a delay.

If they don't have something in stock then they won't allow you to buy it until it does come back in or they have a exact time frame.

I actually just switched my preorder from a LE to a regular edition. I couldn't care less about an extra wiimote on a system that won't be used after SS. As long as I get the concert CD, I'm good.

I expect to be able to walk in to Best Buy and pick up a limited edition. They don't do preorders do they?
They do. Mine, at least, has a kiosk with a touchscreen interface near the game section to make pre-orders.

Mmmm, you make a good point. Might end up on my backlog until after I end up getting a Wii U.

Well it seems to be in stock at most online retail stores for the UK but just to be safe I took this opportunity to put in a preorder at HMV since they still give my account a 10% discount. Not the kind of game to get crazy deals day one but with UK stores you never know so I'll keep a close eye on price as we get closer to launch.
