Agreed. Neither of them look interesting. I also have never been a huge fan of the parasol girl in a dress archetype. Whatever. Chance to save poly.

Ok i am giving up on disc drive farming. There is no point to it. My miayabi still has the same stats as on day one, but i farmed disc drives every day for her. For some reason only disc 1 keeps getting both stats. Crit rate and damage. I have over 10 of those. But not even one good ice damage disc even after using 8 or so calibrators. Atleast i have already a lot of drives for Astra.

I always end up with the same mindset in HoYo games. Correct set, Correct main stat, hopefully 1 or more useful substats = Good enough™.
I'm not a youtuber or a spreadsheeter, so I don't care if my kills take a little longer or whatever. No shame to those that enjoy the grind, but it's one of the most soulcrushing types of grind I have encountered in gaming.
And I used to play old MMOs with .05% drop rates, so I know a thing or two about grind.

This is more or less my exact strategy. Get the correct main stat, and at least 1 or 2 appropriate sub stats and call it good. At that point you have unlocked the majority of a character’s potential, any further grinding could help, but likely will just suffer diminishing returns for your time

You're gonna drive yourself crazy going for great stats on the discs, it's not really needed anyway, you can make up for a bit lower stats with skill.

Yeah, you don't need any of this unless you're after 720 polys in SD 2 times per month and even then... 8 pulls are not worth it and especially if you don't have a shitload of patience and tolerance for this kind of grind. It took me a month to get good discs for Miyabi, but I still need to swap at least 2 (not to mention 2 discs for Lighter) - no luck on that front so far.

In all these games that dont allow to reroll the substats i just pick a main stat with 1 or 2 good substats for the character and call it a day, the other 2 substats are whatever. Two of the gacha games i play let me reroll and lock substats so bulding characters and make them perform the way I want is so much better.

So in USD we're looking at $15 for Ellen, $20~ish for Astra. I don't know offhand how much" Bonus" Monochrome you get from the $5 or $15 packs, so maybe buying one of each is enough. It'd be ultra scummy to make the $5 and $15 packs just slightly not enough to buy the skin, so I don't think they'd go that far, hopefully.
I don't personally think they're worth it. Free for Ellen's and 15 for Astra would have been my max. Alternatively these prices are fine if you could buy them with Polychromes as well.

As far as 4*, I'm seeing Lucy's signature (Kaboom the Cannon) as the recommended for now. I'm planning on giving her a "Slice of Time" I already had leveled.

Just tried her a bit, and she seems extremely good, she should elevate any team she's on quite a bit; she's probably a much better choice to pull on instead of evelyn

Shes the 1st S rank support unit so she has to be the top tier support. Im skipping her cuz dont even know if have enough polys for Evelyn if i lose the 50/50 i might not even get her. Hoyotrash.

Got Astra in 40 pulls from 0 pity, I'm quite happy with that.
I've only just been using her a bit, but she kinda makes the entire quickswap type gameplay actually viable. You're essentially rolling a character that presses one button then fucks off, but her effects are really good and it creates a really fun (IMO) gameplay style. Too bad she didn't have just slightly more on-field presence, but from a meta viewpoint it's probably better that she requires little on-field time to maximize your DPS time. I was surprised how she made Nekomiya fun/strong in her character demo. Might us her in a team with Piper/Neko in my own account, since I'm fairly happy with my other team comps for general content and have been looking for SOMETHING to do with Neko since the beginning of the game.

Ended up pulling for her. Lost 50/50 to grace at 50 around pulls I think wasn’t exactly counting , and got her in another 30, so not too bad.
That said, is it my imagination but wasn’t Astra a bit more “cheeky” the way Burnice is? Did they change/ censor her model ? Or maybe what I saw was a mod or fan art. Swear her shorts didn’t come down as far. Could be in my head tho.
I really liked the story with her and Evelyn. This is the way you do a singer character, fuck Robin lol
