Nintendo Direct Feb 13, 2014 Thread | 3DS/Wii U Spring games

I just want a definitive date for Smash Bros. Surely, that's not too much to ask, right?

well, that's the wiiU saviour...

altho they've made no wiiU buyer out of me, they kinda crapped themselves on the wiiU by putting the same game with only graphical differences on 2 platforms. And they own both platforms

Would've posted the 12 hours remain if I remembered this much earlier

Sawada stated via Twitter that the announcement will happen in Japan sometime tomorrow morning, which is later today for the rest of us. As stated above, the project will not be a role-playing game, but rather a new genre for the series.

Well...

Maybe one new game announcement, a surprise eShop title and then a lot of trailers for already known Wii U and 3DS games.

Too much hype, but still sad I can't watch it live ):

At first I was kinda joking...but this might just be a crazy night. I can feel it. It feels like E3 without the weeks of buildup just BOOM here it is
like the bottom of an avatars shoe.

Local multiplayer is smash's bread and butter. Ability to play local multiplayer with friends who don't own the console is enough of a distinguishing feature to separate the two versions. Plenty of people who love smash to death still don't own either nintendo platform.

Also, the stage lineups are different. It's not identical content.

And yet they're making another large-scale RPG, yes?

Japan aside, I feel like Nintendo misread the demand for a game like that in NA in particular. The game had a restricted release and yet saw decent success both commercially and critically. Now there's at least a known market for that type of game so Nintendo can capitalize by, at the very least, not having Monolith Soft take X in the wrong direction.

Xenoblade was highly pirated, something like 1 million times due to Nintendo's unwillingness to port the game for the longest time. I think this really hurt sales. Despite that Xenoblade scored high in reviews and was highly regarded by critics. The trailer for X has almost 1 million views on youtube. I think X will sell better than Xenoblade anyway.

Today has been a bad day. Snowstorm, still had classes and I think my desktop's mobo died. But all that doesn't matter because nothing is gonna get me down for this Direct!!

Im seriously trying to keep calm and relaxed but you guys...you all make it so so difficult. When we all unite all hell breaks loose.
