Nintendo Direct Feb 13, 2014 Thread | 3DS/Wii U Spring games

Bayonetta 2 looks excellent for a fighting game. No surprise there. I don't know about getting a Wii U after this Direct though sadly.

3DS sticks with me.

Glad we got to see some stuff, but fuck the Wii U situation is dire.

Donkey Kong this month...no major release till May 30th for Mario Kart?

No specific dates for any title listed after that. Awesome.

I was SO ready to flame the shit out of today's Nintendo Direct and suddenly..... "X" happened". It really saved this.

Couldn't give two shits about Bayonetta. Looked aweful, imo.
But damn, "X" is my type of game. Absolutely love it.
But one last thing: Announced nearly 1 year ago and you still can't give us a name for this game? Seriously? Jeez......

Goddammit Nintendo, I keep supporting you...why? Show new shit for fucks' sake. The only exciting new thing was NES Remix 2 and that's a cheap cash-in on the success of the first. WiiU is absolutely, irrevokably doomed at this rate, tease something new, not the same games we all know are coming.

Hurry up Inzuma Eleven, I want to share this fun Football game with English speakers.

So that's it. I could care less about Bayonetta 2.

X, Little Mac, and David Wise's music was worth it, so I'm satisfied.

How much less could you care? Because if it's still enough to be slightly interested, you should give it a go as the demo was quite fun.

If you couldn't care less, as in you don't care at all, well that's a shame, but fair enough.

At least some footage of X, Child of Light and Bayo 2.
But for these who excepted big things, I'm sure that they are disappointed. But they really should know it better by now, really.

Bayonetta 2 looks good, i am satisfied.

Overall disappointment but at least now i'm convinced not to get X, pokemon puzzle game made me laugh and the lack of SMT4 for europe will make me curse humanity for having promoted a region locked handheld.

Bayonetta 2 and X looked awesome.

Scumbag move with Remix 2. Considering the price of the first one these games could have been in that.

Mario Kart looks great and I will certainly buy it but Donkey Kong looks very average.

Ok, I think I'm moving on. I've assumed SMTIV won't be released in Europe. Now I have to think if I sell my 3DS right away or if I keep it a little longer because there's nothing announced I'm interested in.

Satisfy.

Great direct. May to December seems pretty good for the Wii U this year. Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Zelda Musou, Bayonetta 2, X.

I thought I was watching last year's Nintendo Direct. Same Wii U games, well not even that since Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem has been vanished from Earth. Monolith Project X still hasn't a name (will it be released before FF XV?), no date for Bayonetta 2 (only Summer) or Super Smash Bros.

Not bad at all.

Got everything I expected. No major surprises but that's ok considering we got X and Bayonetta plus BASED LIL MAC

Iwata can choke on a dick for making the 3DS region locked. How long has it been since SMT IV was announced for Europe and no word on it again? This shit is just frustrating.

I am really easy to please.. but that was fucking bad.

can't wait for Mario Golf, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong and X though!!

3DS is gonna have a rough year.

My predictions:

Remember guys:

1) This Direct is later than usual

2) Bayonetta 2 will most likely be shown (two retweets from Platinum Games executives, only project they're working on with Nintendo is Bayonetta 2 and they don't usually retweet Directs)

3) X will most likely be shown (Soraya Saga, the wife of key Monolith Soft director Tetsuya Takahashi, only retweets when X will be shown, and she retweeted this Direct)

4) There will most likely be a new character reveal for Smash Bros. (Sakurai retweeted the Direct, and usually when Sakurai retweets an upcoming Direct, a new character will be announced)

It definitely seems like this Direct is more hardcore than usual.

This sounds like a retread of GAF wishes / speculation. Looks like whoever wrote that reads GAF.

But unlike Platinum Games, Monolith Soft, and Sora Ltd., Next Level Games clarified that they were just retweeting because they wanted to spread the word...so it fundamentally diminishes their chances at showing something new this Direct.

Meanwhile, Bayonetta 2, X, and Smash Bros. all have real chances at showing up.

What we got:

1) Bayonetta 2 shown off

2) X shown off

3) Little Mac announced for Smash Bros.

I got everything spot-on!

That was so bad.

I can't believe I hyped myself up for this.

Never again GAF.

It was awful.

The 3DS has literally no games after this spring. Like nothing. Absolutely nothing.

The only thing I liked was X and that was like 30 seconds of gameplay. Bayonetta 2 looks so much different from the original.. I don't think it is even M-rated.

You guys should've used the youtube stream

AND ARE WE SERIOUSLY COMPLAINING
THIS WAS A GOOD DIRECT

X, Bayonetta 2, Little Mac in WiiU, +a bunch of nifty eshop games and localizations

Little Mac in Smash
so hyped

What happened in EU and Japan directs that were different?

If the emphasis is on Spring games, we know the following games are in the Spring release window:
- Mario Golf
- Yoshi's New Island
- Layton 6
- Disney Magical Castle
- Mario Kart 8
- Sonic Lost World Yoshi DLC
- the remaining sports of Wii Sports U

And we might also expect some followup on:
- DKC:TF
- Bravely Default
- Wii Fit U

Then we have a bunch of 2014 games that probably won't make sprint but that could be covered:
- Layton vs Phoenix Wright
- Smash Bros
- Bayonetta 2
- DLC for previously released games

And some unlocalized JPN games likely to come over:
- Fossil Fighters 3DS
- Maybe Tomodatchi Collection 3DS

This is my way of saying that I don't seriously expect too much in the way of new game announcements because it'd be pretty easy to fill this length of time with stuff that's a known quantity and closer to the title of the presentation, which emphasizes Spring 2014 games.

Yup, I expect whatever little new stuff we get will be near the end with Wii U games (X, Bayonetta 2) and stuff that might be announced for Japan.

I'm surprised how close it came to this. A new Ace Attorney title was confirmed for 3DS in the JP direct too.

If people were falling for the hype though this Direct probably didn't live up to what they expected though.

Pretty lame Direct. Nothing new announced on either platform that interests me. Only day 1 purchase for me is still Mario Kart 8.

I'll probably get Yoshi and DK: Tropical Freeze at some point, but I've been playing a lot of platformers lately and still have a few in the backlog to get to before picking up anymore.
