No text chat between matches on PC? What?

Also, noticed that once it goes well for one team, that thing snowballs pretty fast.

I dunno its good fun and all but the bots bug the hell out of me, you think your doing so good in the game then at the end u see you only got like 5 players killed and 30 bots, I don't have the same satisfaction at the end realizing I technically only killed 5 good players as the bots practically never kill you. I dunno how to explain it properly other than if everyone in the game were players instead of bots it would be pretty epic but as it stands now I dunno if I will buy it....playin on PC btw

Same feeling here. I'll go 5:30 with 1 death and feel meh at the end of it.

I just played for a minute on PC, and i still cant get over how ugly this game looks. Running in 1920x1080 and it really looked bad. I'll play more tonight, but thats my first impression of it, just bad graphics.

Played 2 matches so far. Love it. Did horrible the first match. But in Match 2 I killed 11 players, 2 titans, and 7 bots. Died only 2 times too!

I fully understand looks and gfx of PC versions, but things like this are what makes "Xbox, record that" so good.

As opposed to hitting F5 on PC to record the last 1 minute or 5 minutes or however long I wanted it to record and at full 1440p and at full 60 FPS.

Sucks to be on PC I guess :p

Man, I really love this game so far. I haven't had so much fun with a multiplayer shooter since Team Fortress 2 in 2007. The game is insanely hectic.

My only gripes so far are:

-In the games I've played so far, the AI has been extremely useless, Spectres included. When you're a player, they shoot at you as if your hitbox was the same as a Titans. 6v6 is perfectly fine but the game definitely feels like it could be playable with at most 12v12 with Spectres present as well if AI shooting patterns are tweaked. Hopefully the game's max player count can be altered the way it can in other Source games like TF2 and CS. It won't be optimal to the developer's vision, obviously but it would be nice.

-This is more a personal preference but right now there is no option to have ADS and crouching a hold command. By default they are toggles and cannot be changed.

-Recoil is unfortunately low on most weapons. Recoil pattern mastery and gun control were extra layers of skill that were present in the frenetic shooters this game is reminiscent of but as with most shooters released these days its minimal or non-existent. Now, it kind of makes sense. Having to fight with your gun as well as enemy mobility in this game could be really frustrating for some and as it is right now, it is still kind of challenging. This works under the assumption that the majority of firefights will involve parkour and quick unpredictable movement but a lot of the ones I've taken part in or have witnessed involve the minimal amount of movement and still come down to who engaged first.

-Burn Cards just feel like an iteration of death streak rewards. Nothing wrong with that but I went in expecting them to function the way Instants do in Magic the Gathering: an example in my head being losing a firefight and quickly finding a place to hide and activating an action like HP regen or something. They aren't as generous as death streaks though which is really nice.

I'm hoping that the game will have a Hardcore mode at launch or that the game is moddable (whether by brute force or tools) enough that something like Promod is possible. Not holding my breath though.

Then don't go for the bots...

I feel they designed the AI so it's the least frustrating thing on the battlefield. You aren't supposed to be losing to the AI. They are there to give you a confidence boost, make you feel like you're constantly achieving and kicking ass and keeping your aim twitchy for when you encounter a real player.

I'm almost certain if people were getting killed by AI left right and center the amount of whinging would be enormous. They are fodder, consider yourself Master Chief and them bottom rung lemmings.

Hmm, I figured 3 times my max speed would be a stretch.

EDIT: It keeps going up! Now at 4.20 MB/s!

I have actually started a couple games out pretty bad and started getting some momentum going by killing some bots and turned my game around. And no, I don't mean farming bots and getting the top spot with 100 grunt kills or something. Like I bolded above, they do a good job of getting your confidence up.

People came in expecting them to be replacement players, but that is not the case. It never was.

Wow, just got a Titanfall PC Beta Code in my email. I am quite shocked, and pleased. I cannot wait to see how this runs on my PC.

I have been pretty outspoken by the lack of any challenging AI, but now I get to experience how they really "operate" in battle.

Well I just got done playing for about 8 hours straight on Xbox.....holy shit. That was the best time I've had with a videogame in a while. And that's coming from someone that actively dislikes CoD.

Some random thoughts:
- zero network issues
- framerate can hitch up at times in Titans, occasional screen tearing
- some aliasing, but only noticeable if you look for it
- mech combat is super satisfying
- wallrunning can be a little wonky at first, but once you get a feel for it it's awesome
- minion AI is frustrating at first, but after a couple hours you learn to differentiate them from players and they become an interesting dynamic
- minor quibbles aside, the game is FUN and super addictive, and that's the bottom line

Pretty much same thoughts here. It looks to be excellent. Can't wait for them to fix the hitch in the titan. Other than that it has been bliss.

Geez I thought that wasn't supposed to work of players?

He is using a higher unlocked smart pistol combined with a one live burn card...its going to be ridiculous with that...thats the point...most of the time it is no where near that powerful

Hello. Has anyone had the game continuing to search for data centres? I've not been able to play it yet on PC as a result and its been like this for fifteen minutes. Has anyone else had this on the PC beta?

Ta.

Played both PC and Xbone versions.

PC definitely looks better and sharper, there was no doubt of that, but the difference isn't as huge as I would have imagined. So much so that I may just stick with my Xbox One preorder since that is where most of my friends will be going.

I doubt they are going to get the resolution up above 792p before launch though. This game is about to go gold.

Otherwise, the game is fantastic. Having lots of fun.

Can anyone confirm if you can shoot and melee while jumping/wallrunning?

Can you aim down sights while jumping and wallrunning?

That confidence boost worked the first time and stopped working immediately after seeing that I killed 40 grunts and 2 players in the after action report. It does keep momentum going and reduces the downtime between actions but other than that, I can't think of what problem they are the solution to.

Played three attrition matches on Xbox, it's tremondous fun, really enjoyed it and it seems 12 players is just right for constant action. Can't wait for release now. Looks fine on my 1080p Panny.

Woop wopp my K/D is now 3.3 :L

I hope they start getting more and more people in so skill gaps are reduced.
Yeah that's the other thing. I want to see a high level match.

Specifically in Last Titan Standing. It could get very tense.

Really interested to see how the game will play knowing you're up against good players. Will there be map control areas, team formations, etc. Or is it just gonna be as random chaos as it seems to be now.

Would be really cool if the devs brought in some good players or hosted a match and streamed it. 343 industries did something similar with showing off a new title update to the game.

What Nabs and MrWilson2912 are talking about above sounds like it will be a real drag to me. I'm all for broadening the number of actions or verbs a player can act out in a match. But these seem to be muddied.

I dont like burn cards. Especially the smart pistol burn card. I mean I love the smart pistol. But really? Two locks to kill a pilot?

Played for about a hour now. My god this game is exactly what i was hoping for after all these years just a damn fun game with some cool mechanics like parkour and even mechs.

First time my titan came down i went like this..

Then when i went in to my titan to kill some people and jump out it again on follow mode and i was killed by someone just when i cloaked and my titan killed him in the back i went like this.

amazed-Cillian-cillian-murphy-31977235-348-171.gif

After that i went parkour and move around the map.

Having the textures on insane and everything on max settings. Runs butter smooth on my i7-2600k and GTX780. It has been a longtime i really had fun in a shooter.

I'm trying to play the tutorial, but I'm getting some graphical glitches, all I can see are my arms and some effects, no other geometry. I've already updated my gpu drivers, I'm on gtx 260, core 2 duo 3ghz, 4gb ram, any ideas guys?

Game has serious technical issues. It's freezing all the time, sometimes permenantly, forcing me to hard reset my computer. I haven't even been able to play a match yet. It really just seems like a console game through and through too. There's graphical pop-in literally 5 metres in front of you even on the highest possible graphics settings.
