Are you happy with Smash Bros 4's graphics?

I wonder if the opinion that it looks like an uprezed Brawl still floats around.
Looks fantastic for a 1080p/60fps fighter IMO

Is it native or Donkey Kong native?

I think it looks fine, but I would be hoping personally for a more CGI looking set up. You know, how you imagine games looking after seeing prerendered game videos for so long.

I didn't know it was confirmed native 1080p. Looks great regardless.

I don't believe Sakurai has come out and stated it directly, but there are definitely 1080p images out in the wild that are in-game and don't have the tell-tale signs of being "up ressed" (alaising, etc). So unless they are bullshotting us (something Nintendo isn't known for doing on first party titles), it's safe to assume.

Fox looks like he's made of wood in the WiiU version. Everything else looks great. I think the 3DS version is the most impressive of the two though, if we assume it's going to be 60 fps as well.

looks pretty good so far

there were some gameplay clips in the little Mac trailer and sonic trailer and if it looks like that I'll be fine with it

king k rool in HD , its about time ;) :(

Thought he said it at E3.

But yeah, you're right. I've got hundreds of 1080 screenshots for this game on my hard drive and they are clearly not upressed.

I think it looks absolutely fucking fantastic. It melts my eyes every time I see it. And unlike Brawl, it just flat out looks like a Smash game. Peach in particular looks amazing, which is good because I play as her a lot haha.

EDIT: Also Miiverse only does 720p shots, and these 720p images have no visable aliasing, which is a pretty strong case for it being 1080p native. Either that, or they are just doing 720p with some awesome anti aliasing.

I like the 3DS game's visuals better because of its cartoony style that adds more I feel to bring all the characters into a similar art-style.

The WiiU game, outside of some good DOF shots, doesnt really look anything standout.

Yep, it looks great. I love the change in art style too. Didn't really dig the realistic textures some of the characters got in Brawl.

I'm extremely satisfied with how it looks on 3DS, but the Wii U version's stages haven't wowed me yet.

On the other hand character models, animations, visual effects and stuff like that are spot on.

More than any objective graphical impressiveness, I'm personally most impressed with the characters animations and expressions, which seem (mostly) a big step up from Brawl, as well as the effects that go along with moves and hits.

I haven't seen some of those shots at that resolution before! Awesome!

Also SSB4 destroys SSBB when seen in motion. The focus on a more primary colour palette makes it soooo much easier on the eye than the dried poo palette brawl used.

It looks similar to Brawl in many regards, but the colours are a lot better.

At 1080p/60fps I can't complain, even if I wish the lighting was better.

Both versions look fantastic.

Hnnnnghhhhhh.

Both versions look lovely graphically.

I like the 3DS' style with the outlines, it creates a nice "cel-shade" effect and the colours really pop and it really does make characters stand out. There's a brilliant amount of detail on them too, so I'm sure in motion, it's going to be a real treat.

It also looks great on Wii U. Some of the models like Marth blew me away, they look really, really good, but I can't help feel it's sort of "lacking" something. I just don't know what though.

Wii U:
Not a fan of how some of the levels look (Skyloft has really bad textures in spots and the Other M stage looks kind of... off, like looks almost Wii-era but touched up) and some characters look really bad (Fox, Link and Donkey Kong especially) and the game in general doesn't feel like it's using the Wii U's capabilities enough.

But I'm overall mostly fine with the graphics, I love that some of the characters are more expressive than before (Dedede especially) and the game has colors unlike freaking Brawl with its dull semi-realistic art style.

3DS:
Can't say much other than DK is AWFUL in it. Link looks a lot better in that version thankfully.

Example of the improved character animations, expressiveness, & effects Brawl VS. For Wii U

VS.

No competition, in my opinion.

EDIT: Damnit, of course I get beaten. :S

I got my 1080p info from GAF. I might be wrong on that...

Care to show better looking PS360 fighters?
Some people I guess associate graphics with the number of lens flare/god ray/dirt/other silly effect filters a game has, and thus can't think clean graphics look nice.

Until you actually play the 3DS one and the camera pans out. It looks good upclose thats about it
