Titanfall Beta (PC/Xbone) Impressions (No Key Begging/Trading or I will ban you!)

I like the evac mechanic a lot actually. Makes you feel like you still have something to fight for even if you lost.

If the other team has 3 titans free to camp your dropship...well, yeah, of course it's gonna die. So don't lose so hard that such a thing happens.

Biggest purchasing regreat in a long time. I should have known that I'd be let down by Battlefield 4... but I wanted to believe.

I feel like itd be a solid game if they made better maps and fixed their glitches.

Titanfall has been fun so far. I only played a little. Seems like these days, you either get really pretty or really fun, but not both.

Battlefield 4 is a great game in its own right, but I just think that the style and flow of Titanfall is more what I'm looking for out of a MP shooter, these days.

Dafuq? I got sent a second Titanfall origin code. Weird.

Friend of mine who didn't get in is going to be happy.

Anyway, game is fun. Nothing really special but fun.

- No recoil. Like literally zero
- stupid ai bots which add nothing to the game play stupid distraction coming in the way of objective
- literally zero team play required. Every body can be a loan wolf

Eh, if you're playing lone wolf and the other team is playing together, you'll probably get smoked.

And the AI are just that. Distractions that unlock abilities.

If anything, hte thing that burns me the most about the game is the lack of percision when it comes to jumping around. I can't begin to tell you how many times I've tried to jump through a window, only to have it mantle ot the wall next to it, causing me to get shot to death. That shit sucks.

I usually try and keep my Titan and drop it on the group of enemy Titans that are just waiting for free kills. Also, the Arc Grenades are super handy for the Evac. :D

Finally got to play today the at first was a little overwhelming but got the hang of it and I must says it is fun. I'm not really that good so having grunts there at time feels that I don't completely suck at it. Titans are fun and strong but don't feel overpowered. I only played attrition not touched other modes yet. I will do that later. I still fail at jumping on the roofs sometimes which is funny. Had no bug yet.

It's a fun game. I do find the Titan action a bit boring after a while and I prefer spending most of my time on foot. That could change though when the 3 different types become available in the full game.

The AI are just filler. I think their weapon accuracy or damage should be increased a little so they pose at least a small threat. Also a greater visual distinction between pilots and the AI would be nice.

I think this games success will largely hinge on how many maps and game modes it ships with. I do hope the full game has some pilot only game modes on small to medium maps because why not!

I actually got killed by AI for the first time earlier, I charged headlong into a group of 5 spectres and they wore me down before I got them all.

but yeah I was so used to the bots just standing around staring at you it surprised the hell out of me

may be its beta but i haven't seen anyone communicating or following some strategy. Similarly AI is distraction but i think it will be better if there was no AI. how many times i get killed or kill some one because confusion between real and ai player.

Yeah lack of precision is also beef of mine but i dont think you can combine fast paced parkour with accuracy. i dont miss windows jumps but usually die durin evacuation

I can't say that I share any of the issues of not being able to clearly discern the difference between Pilots and AIs.

How do I get pilots off my back when they Rodeo my Titan?
Electric smoke equipment, or press X to jump out and shoot them off yourself.

Nice. I haven't played a whole lot yet, but the game seems a ton of fun. I'm not an "esports" or "hardcore" FPS player (or whatever term you want to make fun of me for using), and so my biggest criteria when playing a multiplayer FPS is, am I having fun. So far my answer is a definite yes.

Though I did want to add I was playing and suddenly my controller disconnected. No warning my batteries were dying or anything. Just had to sit and watch my titan be destroyed as I went to grab my backup batteries. I hope this is something that is fixed in new XBox One system update......

TDM sucks but I love Domination. Having a blast with this game. I might buy it if EA reduce the price by 50%. I don't see the point in spending FULL PRICE for a fucking MP shooter.

How do you not see the point?

You are playing it and enjoying it.

EDIT:

I'm sure it will last you more than a 8-10hr single player only game.

The atrocious, not-worth-playing 4 hour SP campaigns in BF4 or Ghosts somehow justifies the full price, then?

But considerably less than some other leading MP games. If you're going to compare then compare it to the competition, not to singleplayer games, lol.

No, everything else that BF4 has that Titanfall does not justifies full price. I'll be playing BF4 for the better part of a year. I don't see that happening with Titanfall. Think I could probably get a week out of Titanfall---and I'm not going to pay for that when I can get a lot more fun for the same money out of other games.

Several points

1. Single player games tend to provide more unique experiences
2. £45 for a MP only title? Lol.
3. Being on the PC, this game has zero resale value. This is why I only ever buy games on Steam sales.

Paying full price for PC games is madness IMO. I hope the price drops quite quickly personally.

;
You're entitled to your opinion but it doesn't change the sales figures for the game, or the amount of variety a CoD or a BF has in comparison to Titanfall.

Sure you can, pop electric smoke or jump out and shoot them.

I'm loving how you've played the final form of Titanfall and know how much variety it has.

The nice part about gaming on PC is that I pre-ordered Titanfall for $45. Although I happily would have paid $60 for this game if I had to.

So after playing most of the day and playing around with loadouts and burn cards I have to say I'm enjoying it much more than I expected to. Even games when I'm getting my ass handed to me I'm still enjoying trying. Switching between having your titan follow you around and getting in it has been a blast. I'm seriously considering a pc purchase when it releases.

After reaching the max rank of the demo, I've decided that this is not a day one purchase for me.

It's a bloody fun game, but not a $60 worth of fun game. I will give it serious consideration when it hits $30 or maybe even $40.

It doesn't matter about sale figures it's about that it is stale and a tired old system there using. And you think there is not enough variety in this game? Right but praising CoD and BF if they change things up at this point but there not.

Such and assumption... How do you know this? I see no reason for it not to have the same longevity than any BF or COD game, now considering I'm actually having more fun with it right now...

That I can totally agree with.

I refuse to pay full price for a PC game now, no matter what it is. I'm gonna try and find a good deal on it before purchasing.

Also, you don't just use Steam for your gaming purchases, do you?
I'd say that is the last place on PC to get a good deal. Kind of hyperbolic of me, but that is what I do.

Indeed, but competition like COD and BF have a single player and multiplayer/extras. Which some would argue is better value for money.

You don't get it. Sales figures do matter when arguing that this game is a "CoD Killer". wtf people, stop being blind fanboys. If you don't beat CoD sales figures then you haven't killed it, END OF DISCUSSION.

I'm not praising the other games, I'm saying they have more content and more variety, in terms of loadouts, classes, levels, gamemodes, etc. There is simply more content. It can't really be argued otherwise.

I'm not saying Titanfall is a bad game, I'm saying there is no way it is a game worth ME paying full price when the same amount of money gets me a lot more gaming elsewhere.

I'm loving how you live in a cave and haven't read any of the details of what the game will have when it ships.

Spill the info mate..i want to know it all. Since you have all info we demand to hear it.

This game is insanely fun so far. Played about an hours worth of matches and the maneuverability just makes this so much more fun than your standard FPS. Stim + Extended Jumppack + Shotgun I'm just flying all over the map wrecking havoc.

Having a hard time getting used to the Titan gameplay. I've only had 1 or 2 good runs so far where I don't get killed right away. Mostly seems to end up with me either getting destroyed instantly 2 on 1 in a Titan fight, or I get a 1v1 battle but my health is so low from it that I die during the next fight anyways.

This is a beta meaning 2 maps,a bit of the classes and loadouts and a bit of a taste of the titan it's a preview nothing more, nothing less. There is nothing final at this point and we still don't know how packed the full game is so it's better to wait when it's releasd instead of saying there isn't enough content.

Just played my first four rounds on my brand new Titanfall controller (which looks awesome). Wow. It's just instantly rewarding, despite feeling totally lost you kill stuff and get points and level up and it just clicks. I think the last time a multiplayer felt like this to me was Modern Warfare. Respawn truly are working on something amazing here. Won all rounds with my team and managed to be on top for the last one. I'd never have expected for it to be this good.
