The Order: 1886 New Trailer On 18th February - 1400 GMT/1500 CET

It will probably be amazing, but I hope we have other certain titles to discuss at E3 this year as well :P

I'm sure there will be other/new titles announced at E3, but since "The Order" is releasing this year, the hype from a great demo will carry right into the fall. And the preorders increase.

Geez, can't even tease a game without mentioning titanfall.

I think those guys are done going to press events. They don't even consider themselves part of the press. They are more into current content (Titanfall beta, Dark Souls 2 soon, spelunky).

Jeff went to the Titanfall preview event which I think was in LA close to the time Sony was showing stuff off. Doesn't seem like he went though. He hasn't had anything to say about Infamous or MLB.

And the animation. Gameplay is like a cinematic.

Sounds amazing. Can you shed any light on whether the game will have the same epic set-piece moments of a series like God of War / Uncharted or be more toned down like Uncharted 1 / The Last of Us?

Will we get set piece footage in the trailer / B-Roll released tomorrow. Really hoping for another Uncharted 2 E3 09 moment.
Just to reassure, the video I'm posting tomorrow is all gameplay (well, like 3-4 seconds logo as well)

Can't wait!

I'm playing through Ghost of Sparta for the first time right now, and its pretty nuts what they've done on the PSP. It feels like a console-scale game.
So, yeah, I'm pretty excited to see what they are cooking up on the PS4. So far its sounding vaguely Last of Us'y, which isn't a bad thing in my book. Looking forward to seeing what the gameplay is like though.

Brad and Vinny went to the dark souls 2 press event and I'm fairly sure Jeff went to the titanfall one. They go to press events all the time.

frankly i don't want those kinds of set pieces. those are reserved for uncharted. i want more procedural stuff that would alter gameplay much like the battlefield bad company series.destructibility in environment and materials and how you adapt to them.

I literally just typed up a response that the Giant Bomb crew to me always seemed biased to Xbox (which is fine because they treat themselves as a fan site), but I deleted it and then you post that. Lol.

To their credit I think at least Jeff did come right out and say he prefers to play on Xbox and prefers their games as well. So it's not like they are pulling the wool over our eyes.

Let me rephrase then, they only attend events for things they care about.

I hope they have stayed true to their ambitions with the physics and that we get a taste tomorrow. That is by far the most hype thing about this game IMO. Graphics are fun and all but bring dat next gen destruction pls thx.

Jeff was just at a Titanfall event, Vinny and Brad went to see DS2 and Brad also just went to see South Park. They go to press events all the time.

True, but that is how GB operates :)

I don't know why people are fearing the game will have "generic" gameplay. Its not like it was not expected. I mean, it was never announced as a revolutionary game, with visionary mechanics and such. It was pretty clear from the start that they were focusing on a game that values storytelling and traditional third person shooter mechanics. People will only get disappointed if they set their expectations way to high (which I am sure will happen, as always).

I mean, I am myself expecting great things from the game considering RAD's history. Personally, if it something on the lines of an Uncharted game with superb graphics, solid gameplay and a well written story its going to be fine. I am sure people will watch the trailer expecting something like a new RE4 or something like that so its obvious that there will be overreactions and meltdowns etc... But oh well, nothing anyone can do really.

Yeah, call me crazy but I'd like next gen to mean something more than just better visuals. It's a new IP so I'd like to think they did something original with it instead of using a template that was used to death and beyond last gen, even if it's just unique weapons, and I don't mean how they look but how they behave.
Hopefully the monsters will feel different to everything we've fought before.

Well, they showed that off to Game Informer and have done demos of it before, so it seems safe to say that it's still there. With that said, I hope people aren't expecting them to be doing Red Faction: Guerrilla-style destruction. I'm pretty sure that it's not on that scale at all. It's smaller but apparently extremely detailed.

then don't blame the devs if they're not doing things from your unrealistic expectations.

Its easy

They will use Last Of Us camera style/lighting
Uncharted cover system and both of those games storytelling, RD have great references

There's room for both, set piece moments will always be more cinematic and spectacular due to their design and so I think they should be included. But I agree with you from a gameplay / strategic point of view. Hopefully we'll see a mix, that will include the big movie moments. Especially as UC2 was one of the main influences behind this games design.

How about you wait until you see the game?

i agree with dragon, and those don't seem like unrealistic expectations at all, to want new games to try and bring new stuff to the table specially when its one of the early showcases of what next gen will look like, they should also try to make it a showcase of how it will feel like

granted i'm quite hyped for this game and would be pleased with a well refined TPS but its a new gen and RAD should at least attempt to bring something that helps distinguish this game from other TPS on a gameplay context, hopefully they did
