There very well could have been a minor altercation outside the hotel (pushing and such) but this could've all been fueled by alcohol.

why are 2 people being drunk a shitty attempt at being a devils advocate? People pass out and get into minor altercations when drunk. Police were there, and they didn't see anything bad, and let them go.

Once again, we don't know anything about what happened, we have the description of a "minor altercation" which could easily just be slight pushing or verbal yelling, and we see a passed out woman being carried by Rice and laid into the hallway.

Also, drunk people do get into lovers spats sometimes, and I'm not the one to assume that he's guilty right away, especially when the cops just merely let them both go.

You shouldn't assume the worse in these situations. If we find out later that he did this, then your conclusion jumping was fine, but I need some type of strong evidence to prove guilt. And right now there's absolutely no strong evidence.
