I feel like even that could possibly be worth it considering how much of a benefit a Pokemon that leveled would be to us. But the other poster pointed out the cost which I think makes more sense, I forgot about the cost of daycare.

I was more referring to the fact how the NPCs battle make it seem like they are also being told what to do by 90,000 people. Absolutely no logic just random moves.

I remember reading something about how Gen I AI worked. IIRC it was basically "Use moves randomly unless you have something super effective, then nearly always use that"

I think that only applied to trainers that have certain music playing. IIRC any trainer with Gym Leader music would have "smart" AI which did the super effective thing you're talking about, but any other battle it's completely random.
I know this because Werster talked about a strat that was only possible (in Yellow I think it was) because the final battle with Blue had unique music that was not considered smart AI.
Pidgeot thankfully won't be limited to Normal attacks at the end of the game. Why? Because of Fly and Sky Attack. Sky Attack is found on Victory Road and is WAY more powerful than any of Pidgeot's other options, even with the charge. Fly is a move we can get earlier but are scared to teach Pidgeot thanks to Pallet Town Warp... But once we reach Indigo Plateau, there is literally no reason to not teach Pidgeot Fly. Hell, once we reach Victory Road, there's no reason to not teach it Fly. We're going to be constantly inside and unable to use it.
On a related note, I REALLY wish Hyper Beam wasn't stuck in the Game Corner's prize section. Would be so nice to just give Pidgeot a base 150 power move with STAB.

They forgot the part where after resurrecting Omanyte, it has no idea what RED is talking about.

This is good, but if you jailbreak you can get one with support for using a Wii Remote (or even PS3/4 controllers) for on screen button haters.

Oh I see, thanks. I'd love to play all the gens I missed. But only the 3rd game on each, except for gen 5 where GF decided to do things differently. Sadly I won't find any cheap copies of Platinum, B/W and B/W 2 here, and importing them is not an option right now.
