Mirror Move in the #1 doesn't bode well. Does that move fail if the enemy hasn't made a move yet? Now Pidgeot will be wasting the first turn of each battle. And the move he'll be reflecting back will often be not effective against their original user.
Haven't played a pokemon game in well over a 15 years, so after looking it up, yes it will fail first turn. That will make things a lot harder I would think.

Sky Attack is by far the best option, but unfortunately we don't get it til Victory Road.

?

Only dragon move is dragon rage. Hyper Beam would be nice.

What are the next tms we can get for Pidgeot

But it wasn't so the system prevailed!
Well there have been improvements to the system since the Sliph Scope incident that make democracy mode harder to activate and sustain. And keep in mind that Start9 is a part of that system and was the reason for some of those improvements:

To get from anarchy mode to democracy mode 80% of the votes must be for democracy mode.
To get from democracy mode to anarchy mode 50% of the votes must be for anarchy mode.
The reason for this asymmetry is that with the equal 75% it took a smaller majority to disrupt democracy mode then it did to reinstate anarchy mode.

I guess the rest of the party will have to pull their own weight just a little more now. I think this is good in the long run, actually.

I'm pretty sure by the time we get to Sky Attack, we will truly need it. Waste of a first turn or not, the damage is guaranteed. Twill be a glorious eleventh-hour superpower if they manage to pull off teaching it like they did with Drowzee.

Just looked at tms. Our attacking options are:

Razor Wind: department store
Take Down:Silph Co; Department Store
Double Edge: Rocket Hideout
Hyper Beam (no recharge if it kills in gen 1): game corner
Mimic (take one of opponent's moves for rest of battle; can see target's moveset and selet wanted move ): Saffron City, Copycat Girl, Pokedoll in bag
Sky Attack: Victory Road

Take Down is probably our best bet, but that Deparment Store
Sky Attack we'll probably go after when we get there
Mimic is complicated but cool

Any of these or Fly

Five move Options:

1) Go to route 15 and get rage
2) Get take down in the Silph Co (This could be very possible)
3) Buy Razor wind in the department store
4) Sky Attack in Victory Road
5)..................ummm........ugh........................not Fly

No rage pls. You cant stop raging in gen 1 once you use it, and if you miss once (all moves in gen 1 has 1/256 chance of missing, except swift), rage will have 1/256 accuracy permanently (for the fight)

Oh shit.

Um...

I guess we teach Fly after we're done with all the badges and hope we're inside enough not to be trolled by it.

I can see it now.

After hours and hours, hours into days, we manage to get past Ledge 2. The moment we exit Victory Road and the Indigo Plateau is within sight... FLY

We're actually not in danger of running out of money soon, if worst comes to worst we can backtrack to get a bike voucher and then do the bike path back for money+ exp. We don't need anything else to do silph co either right? I mean we always risk blacking out and losing half our money but we should come out with a decent profit by the end.

Anything that involves buying something is bound to fail, because we'll buy the wrong thing, like as not. And then, teaching a move to a Pokemon, particularly a toss-able move, have proved an Herculean task. Too much luck involved.

Fly is EASILY the best bet for the Elite 4

90 power, 95 accuracy, plus flying stab
No sitting duck for one turn like razor wind or sky attack
And 15 pp, more than either of the above

Also no recoil like Take down or Double Edge
And obviously it's not a normal attack which is a huge bonus in itself

The best case scenario is holding onto fly until we reach the elite 4, and somehow overwriting whirlwind. Very low chance but that would be magical.

We still need a surf mon. Once we have one, I posit we get tentacool. Its a great wall with ok speed, we can teach it toxic and surf. It also can do wrap cheese, has supersonic, barrier for wall, screech and hydropump.
I think Lapras is superior because it can learn surf AND strength, not to mention the last 4 moves it learns are confuse ray, ice beam, hydro pump, an body slam. Any of those two plus the HMs are money.
