My friend refuses to believe that pidgeot was called bird Jesus before it's nickname was changed in game. Anyone have proof to show him wrong?
He didn't get re-named until after this second thread started. Go through the old thread (it's linked in the OP) and search for Bird Jesus mentions.
Also, search this thread for AAA Based Jesus mentions, since I remember those starting right after he got renamed.

That was fantastic.
Show him the old thread? It came up well before we went back to Lavender Tower. He gained it for his exploits in Rock Tunnel and Erika's Gym. There should also be jesus themed memes around that time, like the last supper shop and the art piece my avatar is from.

Like my friend, who downloaded fire red onto his phone after I offered him X or Y to play. Way easier to play on the phone

We got the master ball, then we went to defeat Sabrina, got wiped, went back, Bird Jesus saved our asses, we decided to go use our masterball on zapdos, tried to deposit Venomoth in the daycare first so we'd have space in our part, failed, and now we're back at the ledge.

Heh. I was playing FireRed today and was noticing how many decent/good poison types there were in Gen 1. You could make a pretty good team of just poison types:
Venusaur, Muk, Weezing, NidoKing/Queen,Vileplume, Golbat, Beedrill, Arbok, Venomoth, Tentacruel, Victreebell, & Gengar.

Sabrina was fun, but really everything else has been kinda dull. Lots of random wandering. Most of the day has actually been spent with anarchy and democracy fighting each other, since neither side seems to actually be able to get anything done after beating sabrina.
I cant stand not having the tactile feel of buttons for Pokemon. It not even a game all that hurt by it but I hate touch gamepads.
I've just twigged: not only is this fundamentally wrong, it's also a complete misuse of "the best offense is a good defence"

Just woke up and saw those ledges... Are we trying to go for Zapdos now?
Looking at the two-hour button press graph. Curious that the 2 longest extended periods where down-spamming slowed coincide exactly with the two big democracy pushes.
edit - and like clockwork, it refreshed again and the democracy line goes down, while the down line goes up.

It's pretty annoying, but I've gotten used to it, and it's nice to just be able to play with one hand when the phone is portrait. It's funny that Pokemon games are really the only ones you can play like that though. Mario, Zelda, anything else is too much with touch controls.
And not to start another debate, but it's part of why I've always thought if Nintendo dips its toes into smartphones, Pokemon RBGS is the way to go.

A few days ago they were head over heels for catching a Snorlax a full health with Great Balls. Now they don't want to use our Master Ball on a Snorlax?
The chat can be so stupid sometimes. We're going to toss the Master Ball at a Geodude or something and everybody's going to be pissed off and we'll have wasted hours on fucking nothing. We could have spent those hours grinding our party for endgame.
That's because there were 33 Poison types in Gen 1. It was the most common type at the time, even ahead of Water. Gen 2 and Gen 3 had a Poison type drought, though.

sad thing is there is really no reason to be here. Even if we get past it we won't be able to surf to the power plant. If we meet zaptos we would not be able to catch it. Then we would need to go through this dark cave again. This is just stupid.

Professor Oak was a drunk, but he was playing a more interesting Pokemon game too. There have been at least half a dozen of those things posted and every one is apparently a lie but taken from a Nintendo publication.
