Watch_Dogs downgradeaton confirmed

The latest trailer we're seeing is likely what's it's going to look like when it ships (two months is not a lot of time to get it looking more like 2012 version). That is what people are likely to get unless someone on the devteam says otherwise.

And actually the outrage is properly placed on typical Ubisoft bullshot getting people's goats again.

Hm. I dunno, the visuals in the new trailer look about the same as the trailer from last year (not the 2012 reveal obviously).

I dunno, they don't look bad. It just better be smooth as hell when I play though.

Edit: Man, I really hope they don't cock up the story for this game like Assassin's Creed and Far Cry. This is in the same space as Person of Interest, and I fucking love Person of Interest. There's so much potential for narrative with these kinda themes (paranoia, surveillance, vengeance).

But almost the entire video is in the rain, whereas there is no rain in the story trailer. Rain makes a massive difference to how the lights look, reflections are everywhere. I'm not sure how you're able to say that the lights look worse.

This is a good point. I dont think we saw a real sunny day anytime before this. Maybe on that late night talk show when Aisha was there and the host played some of it.

Even that isnt as sunny as some of the pics I've seen recently.

Not really. We were told to "ask the journalist" about the graphics. Because you know that game journalists are pretty trustworthy folks and they'll tell it like it is.

Because why trust your own two eyes when you can trust some journalist instead?

So this just means we need to keep hounding them on it

It means they suck at PR damage control almost as much as they suck at cross gen development.

EDIT: And I'm gonna say it one more time. This is not about "the gif". Two days ago, I download a pristine copy of the Sept 2013 15 min. demo and watched it on my TV. "Oh man... how much longer must I wait for this game???" Then yesterday morning as soon as I arrived at work and go onto my computer, one of the first things I saw was "New Watch Dogs trailer!" I watched it, and not halfway through it I thought, "OK, this is obviously the PS3/360 version. Weird that they'd use it for marketing, but whatever. I'm getting the PS4 version so who cares?" Then I looked at a couple of forum discussions and saw a bunch of "confirmed, it's the PS4 version in the new trailer." And that's when everything went black.

Far Cry 3's graphics aren't really the problem. It's boring, chore-heavy do this get that craft this collect that gameplay aka one of the big problems among many Ubisoft open world games.

I'm talking only of the graphic (although I didn't found it that bad).

Person of Interest is an excellent show supported by great actors, strong writing, and impressive direction in almost every episode. To say that its content was forward-looking in light of PRISM and all that would be an understatement.

Watch_Dogs looks to be shaping up to be a solid B average game whose enthusiasm, hype and content was cocked up by Ubisoft mismanagement and a delay. I imagine our friend Aiden won't be anywhere near as rounded or impressive of a character as Mr. Finch or Mr. Reese.

Edit: Of course, I hope I'm wrong and the game is as impressive as it once was. Today's events don't inspire much confidence though.

I wonder when or if they feel the need to address the downgrade reasonably.

this is too funny

Atmospheric effects took a huge hit. Loss of immersion from E3. I had very little hype for this one, but I thought what we saw would be doable on PS4. What I really want is The Division. Still holding out hope for this.

I hope they come out and explain this before the game comes out

Let's face it, whatever they do now, most people here are going to be waiting for reviews and a lot of footage.
If they produced some wonderful-looking trailer 6 weeks from now, I would be a little suspicious.

Sigh. One can dream. Ubi should have hired Jonah Nolan and Greg Plageman as consultants.

Was there *anything* worthwhile offered up from the stream?

If I was Ubi I'd focus on the gameplay and what makes Watch_Dogs truly unique in that department. They sure as hell aren't going to win a downgrade argument.

For their sake I hope the game's performance is locked down and smooth and that the gameplay hook and variety is there. If so they can certainly weather the storm, though they do deserve to get smacked around for straight up bullshitting people about what to expect from their games.

to or not to canel my limited edition of Watch Dogs pre order...that is the question? *I'm wrestling with*

Do what I am doing and wait to you see more. Aslong as the game isn't a complete mess I will be still getting it. The game still looks interesting to me.

I'm tired of this. Some guy saying the game looked great means jack shit. We saw what UBI saw fit to show us, and it didn't look that great

If Ubisoft was smart, they'd release a 5 min demo, hell even 3 minute, of pure gameplay. At night. In the rain. That's if it looks as they claim it does and, well, it does.
