nah they got paid. The real loosers are respawn unfortunately since they wanted to port it to PS4 later.
It's a joke. Titanfall came out in the UK, Xbone sales went up 96%, PS4 sales went up 72.4%. Clearly Titanfall didn't make people buy PS4s.
dude titanfall is a phenomenonI don't understand the title change. How did titanfall boost PS4 sales?
Consumers thought it was also on PS4, headed out to the store, found out it wasn't on ps4, bought ps4 anyway.I don't understand the title change. How did titanfall boost PS4 sales?
Oh ok. Sorry I'm new here. Looking forward to when this stuff is funny to me too. It's a joke. Titanfall came out in the UK, Xbone sales went up 96%, PS4 sales went up 72.4%. Clearly Titanfall didn't make people buy PS4s.
Anyone who thinks TF is staying xbox exclusive is dillusional in my opinion, EA already must be realizing what a dumb decision that was. How can they take oN Destiny, COD with it being relegated to an xbox only game?
If it me or has IGN's article been heavily slanted in favour of x1 the last few weeks with crazy headlines?
That's my take on this too.Titanfall IS a system seller, but its been selling systems since launch and Titanfall alone isn't going to be enough to overtake the PS4 lifetime sales.
I don't understand the title change. How did titanfall boost PS4 sales?
Is there any precedent for a company breaking an exclusivity contract? None spring to mind. Point is it was a timed exclusive originally and despite PS4 sales EA signed up to make it a full exclusive.
Titanfall boosts Vita sales by 1000% due to remote play on the PS4.

Pretty sure XBO did better than PS4 last week, low stock and Killzone didn't chart.
Sounds like this deal went in place before the new consoles were shown, when EA thought the Xbox was going to clobber Playstation.
Seems Target stores has the most stock for PS4's. I just checked area codes for manhattan and a few boroughs and they all have stock.
So PS4 sales >>>>> X1 sales even on the week of Titanfall's release in the UK.
Not good news for X1 IMO.

In isolation from the PS4, the Xbone sales are great in comparison to pretty much every previous console release ever. That should not be understated at all.
The issue that some see is that it is already out in its two strongest markets (NA & UK), where the 360 held a 3:2 advantage over the PS3. It was those two markets that tipped the scales to keep PS360 sales at parity at the end of last gen with circa 80m each. The Xbox brand is weaker in (I think) every other country on the planet. The Xbone is already out in the ones that really paid the 360 any great attention at all. So the quantity of markets it is available in isn't really going to do much for its sales.
So far this gen, the PS4 is narrowly beating the Xbone in the US, is about 3:2 in the UK, and more in other countries. The Xbone doesn't have the territories secured to drive to parity of adoption and the PS4 is heavily supply limited despite selling better. The thinking being that as the gap widens between the two machines, less 3rd party games will get Xbone ports, devs might put less effort in and so the reasons to get one gets smaller as time rolls on.
Frankly, it's just interesting to see the seachange in public perception from one generation to the next. People who were PS2 gamers but 360s first, people who were 360 gamers bought the PS4 first.
It all depends on how much margin we think they have. If we think they can drop to £400 in the UK and still break even on the hardware, then £300 + a game is £100+ a go. If they did that worldwide for say 6 months before they could get the BOM down, that's say 6m units sold at a cost to them of £600m. Fine, they get money from games, lets say £15 a game, 2.8 games per unit sold, Still only £252m. add in the Gold sub at £60 for the roughly what, 50% of people that buy Gold?, Thats another £180m. Still £168m shy.
All depends on numbers we just don't know.
Where did you get that?

No. Respawn's main goal was to make money and to create brand awareness. Which they did quite well in both departments. Titanfall is nothing but a success for the company.
I will be very interested to see if that's the case. Whatever the speculation, those numbers should be very intriguing.
It is definitely disappointing. I wish it was doing better because it has some really good games right now that I think deserve better recognition.
I thought the lifetime exclusivity was revealed after launch?
There is a good chance we'll never get the numbers related to this. We'll likely never know what happened this past week in the UK
Yeah but it would have been a way bigger one, that has to hurt.
Just the last few weeks?
I will be very interested to see if that's the case. Whatever the speculation, those numbers should be very intriguing.
Edit: This thread title change, funny as it may be, seems to be absolutely destroying this thread. I appreciate the joke, but maybe let's change it as it seems to be creating a lot of confusion for whatever reason.
Where did you get that?
See my edit above.*
[PS4 was beating X1 3:1 right?]
Yeah. I'm sure it hurts.

Not only did it make them as a company a lot of money, but they were pretty much guaranteed funding of whatever they decide to do next.
That's the joke.the new title makes it seem that the PS4 got its 72% boost of off TitanFall
People have no sense of humour when it comes to Titanfall...the new title makes it seem that the PS4 got its 72% boost of off TitanFall
No one is confused. There are just a couple of people who are annoyed by it because they are too serous about console warz to find it humorous.
WTF @ the thread title. "Titanfall ... boosts PS4 sales by 72%" ?
Seriously?
