Show us your gaming setup: 2014 Edition

Not a whole lot has happened since 2013, but I've finally bought myself a screen, along with some blackout blinds. Got the PJ on the wall too, although it's looking a bit ghetto atm.

Very nice. What screen did you go with? What size and how far away do you sit from it?

Very nice. I'd like to see better pics. I think I have basically the same paint color in my office. I think the way you organized your furniture is a nice compromise between the usual huddle-around-the-TV or the can't-see-the-TV-well. Right now in my living room I don't actually have a seat that faces the TV directly. It's not ideal, but I don't want my living room to look like a theater.

I think I still have more pictures that I've taken... If not I can take out the DLSR. No worries, I'm on it!

And yeah, we were trying to keep the space as open as possible. Since the house is "open concept" we wanted to keep the viewing lines as open as we could throughout the entire house. We bought a larger area rug for the space too, it's custom sized from Urban Barn so there's a bit of a lead time.

How do you like the TV over the fireplace? Always thought that was too high and more for decoration, less for viewing.

It's not bad at all, in fact I really like it! I've seen setups with the TV WAYYYYYY to high because of a huge mantle, and there's no saving a setup like that. Also the seating is important. Because of the couch we bought, and the height of the plasma, it's a comfortable viewing position. Even with the two chairs give you a comfortable viewing position. Whenever I have friends over for various sporting events, no one has commented on a terrible viewing angle or aches in their necks.

It also helps that the mount is articulating so I can angle it towards me whenever I'm gaming or watching a movie with my wife.

I like the multi-monitor setup, but I think I'm at the point where I'm over 1080p, and prefer the 30'' higher resolution display. Thinking of selling this one and maybe moving up to the 32'' 4k Dell display.

For my PC, I sold my GTX Titan and picked up 2x 780Tis. Got that EVGA SLI Pro bridge a few days ago. Looks sweet with the cards. The EVGA logo lights up with the 700 series cards I believe.

Xbox One is in the living room hooked up to my cable box.

How do you like the 32'' 4k? As I mentioned above, I'm thinking of jumping to it. I'd love to hear your opinion since we both have IPS panels (you with the portrait setup). Curious about the response time on the 4k.

Man, some of you guys have some crazy clean set-ups.

Got a new couch and table finally. Set-up is coming together about as nicely as possible for an apartment.

Really digging your setup because of how close the couch is to the TV; I'll definitely go with something similar when I have my own place. I never understand how people can sit 8 to 10 feet away from the TV when playing games; I have a 52" and I'm at around 5 or 6.

Its amazing. Lag time seems ok(or at least un noticeable) no where as smooth as a 120hz panel. But its worth it, 4k looks ridiculously sharp, and games look super clean. It has its issues-MST mode can be finicky, no Bios on boot, small ass text with W8.1's limited scaling options, etc. Even with its flaws I can't recommend it enough, once you go 4k you can't go back to 1080p.

Seriously though, some of you guys have some phenomenal setups. The design choices you make are absolutely stunning.

Smokey, that new SLI bridge is slick, and that Dell monitor you switched too looks like it has really crisp picture quality.

i really like your pc case. im looking up the model and i dont see a viewing window on some of them, could you direct link me to the one you have?

Oh, that looks cozy! One of my favorites so far.

Oooohhh? I wasn't expecting to get any comments like this (or any comments at all!)! Haha. Thanks. :)

Everyone here has some really great setups, by the way. I wish I could decorate a room how I wanted, but I just make do with what I can.

Nice. I'm over 1080p at the moment. Don't see myself going back there for a primary monitor. I know Asus has a 27'' 4K panel coming out that supposedly doesn't use MST.

Thanks, much appreciated!

I love the new bridge. My case has a window and so it fits in nicely with everything else that is going on. The bridge was $30, but I've gone so far down the rabbit hole with my machine anyway I just went for it. The monitor is really nice. I'm finding 30'' to be my preference. It's hard to go back to the smaller monitors after using it for so long. Really helps with productivity since you have a lot more room to work with in resolution. Games look great. I have enough GPU horsepower where I can get 60fps with max settings. The IQ is crazy.

Hmm..looks like it may be discontinued with the window. It's a pretty old case, but still one of the best. Here it is on Amazon. Been around since at least 2010 and has pretty much stayed the same price from then until now. I've had mine since 2011.

The FT02 was based off of the Raven. Has a window and is in stock at Newegg.

I like the new floor much better and all that desk real estate must be nice. Good job :)

I always enjoy seeing how your pc setup evolves lol. Good to see the trusty FT02 still going strong.

Yeah, your room has character. I like that. Looks like somebody is actually living there and enjoying him or herself, unlike some of the super-tidy, almost sterile rooms that have been posted here (no offence to anyone, just an observation ^^;).

Those of you who do consoles + computers on one monitor, what does your sound solution look like for that setup?

I've been thinking about moving my PS3/360 into the office as the PS4/XBO take over the living room in the next year or so, but getting an audio solution setup seems like a headache.

Nice. That 250D is sexy. I'm waiting for Amazon to update their stock.

Thanks. I had major issues with Amazon and the 250D; delayed my build for over a week and I eventually had to cancel my order and get it from Newegg. Was my first disappointing Amazon experience, after hundreds of purchases.

I'd recommend looking for it elsewhere, they seem to have huge stocking issues with that particular case :/

!

I'm going to finally move away from the 2600k when the 5930kk/8 core processors hit in the next few months. The motherboard/CPU is really the last part that needs "balancing" in the machine. FT02 has been really nice for me, but probably moving on to a new case when I upgrade the CPU. I'm restricted on the type and amount of GPUs I can use due to the 90 degree rotation of the case.

I'm not sure if you already answered it, but what kind of bed frame is that? Do they ship to Canada?

Very nice setup but I like more of the fact that you paid for everything on your own and are self-dependent!

I kinda have this set in my bedroom. I send all video and audio to an hdmi/optical switch. The switch then connects to an AudioEngine 5+ speaker set.

Awesome PC setup. I wish i could upgrade to something like that in this moment. Is there more room for you to put a better and bigger TV at a larger distance ?

Thanks for the words. If I were to put a TV on that wall behind the monitors, a 40'' would probably be the max comfortable size from my seat. I have thought about getting a 32'' LCD or so for the PS4. The current 23'' monitor is a bit small.

My current setup (old pic though). Going to change it soon, cause it's been like this for a year now and i need some change. Also it's annoying having the TV side by side with the monitor (at least when my GF is watching TV).
Sorry for the bad quality, I don't have a fancy DSLR.

What's the specs on the Vaio laptop? I've been looking for a good mid range gaming laptop than I can program with also..

Man you people have such organized houses, I'm envious :D

I've got two dogs, three cats, and two little rugrats, all in a 900 sq ft. house. I can barely turn around without tripping over a toy or getting a giant dust bunny stuck to my feet!

Hnnng. Looks great!

Thanks :)

I have the same projector (BenQ 1070) and it's pretty damn amazing.

Yeah it's great!

I'm really surprised at the picture quality, considering the price. Haven't regretted the decision of buying one for a second. And although it wasn't meant to replace my TV, it didn't take long for my 42" to be relocated to the bedroom... I've got over 1000 hours on the lamp already.

Very nice. What screen did you go with? What size and how far away do you sit from it?

I've got a DreamScreen V2 DynaGray 106". Bought it cheap off of my brother (around 70$). I was originally going to buy a different DreamScreen, but being a student money is tight and the offer was too good for me to pass up on. I think I'm sitting about 3.8 meters away from the screen.

Big fan of this thread, thought I'd post mine but it's just nothing compared to everyone else.

This is where I play my Gamecube, Xbox or PS2 games. TV is a 28" Sony Trinitron, still works well and the old games look great on it.

This is the bulk of my games collection. I have loads more stored away but as you can see I've no more space so until I can buy another one of those cabinets it'll have to do for now.

This is where I play my PS4 and PC but I want to get rid of the TV display unit and put a nice corner unit in it's place (quite like the desk of PureSolidness from above). I absolutely hate having my PC and PS4 on the floor but it's all I can do for the moment. Underneath the TV is my PS3 and Virgin Media box which I never, ever use.

Just my Vita and 3DS. I'd like one of those charging stations for the handhelds and the controllers so hopefully I'll pick up those soon.

These are for when the wife and kids are asleep, I've had them a few years now but they still do a decent job.
