Off screen gameplay video of borderland 2 vita

Ugh. Couldn't they reduce this thing to PSP resolution levels and get us a decent framerate? It would have been more responsive playing it using remote play over the internet from a PS4 port of the game than what we ended up with.

And a PS4 port with all the PhysX stuff would have at least sold some copies.

I'll just crosspost my thoughts:

The vine shows some lag and there is nothing happening on the screen. Some boss battles have so much happening on screen, I can't imagine how much lower it could get.

1 FPS.

The framerate when turning looks sub-par, but the graphics look nice enough.

Hopefully they do some more work to stabilize the frame rate.

Surely this low quality vine being the first way most people see this port is better than Sony releasing a high quality video themselves first.

Surely.

It's Black Ops: Declassified all over again.

I don't get why people say that, even if this is a terrible port it's nothing like that. CoD was a rushed game developed in 4 months, this is just yet another console->handheld port that may or may not perform very well. We've had these for decades now.

Framerate is one of the last things to get taken care of in development. Remember Dead Rising 3 at E3? It sometimes dipped to single digits but when it launched it kept a steady 30 most of the time. I'll judge the final release.

exactly this...

I'll still buy it too because I'm a sucker for AAA games on the vita...

Having played Borderlands 2 through the campaign many, many times, that shit looked like a slow motion version of the game. It's worse than a sub-30 framerate. It's a sub-30 framerate with the actual game moving in slow motion added.

It's like it takes 1.5 seconds to render 30 frames of information, and instead of skipping any frames to make it fit into 1 second, they allow those 30 frames of information that should take 1 second take the entire 1.5 seconds.

Those grenade tosses from the boss should be moving much faster than that.

Yup. It looks really slow. You can see how long it takes to show the damage done to the enemy after the bullets hit him.

I'm still optimistic. Framerate may be bad but not Jak collection levels of bad. I don't expect it to be something like Killzone Mercenaries.

Looks better than I thought, actually. If the players had fun and liked it as their tweets indicated, then I'm assuming the framerate won't be too big of an issue.

Can't be worse then Snake Eater 3D, which I still play occasionally.

Game's been hyped around for about two hundred years, it's coming out next month and those ten combined seconds of shaky offscreen footage are all footage there is.

There's no fair way to judge from those videos, but if were it any better Sony/Gearbox would show something themselves.
