Maybe it is when it's supported. PC version of Elden Ring does not support DLSS natively, so I doubt it's used on Switch 2.Wait, I thought DLSS was all that mattered to consider Switch 2 a next-gen console?

Now I understand you and I'm fully with you on that. You can call it out, and call it what it is. But tell others not to buy it because it's bad...I don't know.I don't see performance as one of the most important factors. I just don't defend bad performance.
I played elden ring on Series X. that port was also a badly made product. verifiability so in fact.
I enjoyed it. GOTY easily for me at the time.
yet, I would never try to defend it.
both the PS5 and Series X ports of Elden Ring are verifiably badly made ports. veryfiably so thanks to the PS4 Pro version, which runs at a very stable 60fps when played on PS5. meaning FromSoft had every possibility to make the game have a stable 30fps mode and a stable 60fps mode, but didn't bother. ergo, badly made product. especially on PS5 because there you had no way to "fix" the issue with VRR.
Defend bad performance or these miserable fucks?
Watch Pi from 1998. Oh my god, it's black and white...pretty grainy, too. Yeah, but it shits on modern day Hollywood in a triangle.
It's always a trade-off between performance and visuals. And then you have people just not capable to release a technically sufficient video game. You can decide if you want to pay money to these people or not. And you can decide if you want to tell others over the internet that it is not acceptable to support these Devs. I know who the bigger idiot is in my opinion.
More like the Integrade version, not the base game
I'm not defending anything... And I won't buy or play Elden Ring on Switch 2. I played on PS5, about 80% through, and put it down... I had enough. And yeah, it ran bad. But being able to put up with that isn't defending.Seriously ? people are "miserable fucks®" for pointing out the obvious and having standards ?
Also, LMAO at the "at least WE play the games" bit, how frigging pretentious and sanctimonious can you be my guy ?
That Π analogy is also way, way off - it's a good movie not because it's in "black and white" but because it's a neat/OK movie, the fact that "today's" Hollywood sucks is a whole different matter...
Again, the fact that you or anyone else are willing to give a pass to a5 years3 year old game (Baemono will rage) that performs badly for 70 Eurodollars is...well you do you, be my guest(s), no one's gonna stop you, the fact that you have to call out others though "miserable fucks" 'cause they don't like living in 1998 anymore with those 18fps Nintendo games (oOT) is pure hypocrisy and shows an immense lack of self awareness.
Elden Ring ran like shit on ALL consoles and guess what, Nightreign also runs like absolute shit on PS5/XSX, you don't see anyone defending that though, only the most hardcore of Ninty fanboys do.
Careful. You're defending while simultaneously being a fanboy. But I'm sure the Gaf police will be on your ass in no time. Enjoy the rants by people who will never play the game on this platform because they 'have standards'It's difficult to say when I'm distracted by the player never having played Elden Ring and being dogshit awful at it, but I wasn't disgusted by the performance on show. It looks playable, and for a handheld it could be worse.
New Digital Foundry video starts off with discussing Final Fantasy 7 & Elden Ring on Switch 2, John Linneman calls the performance "basically unacceptable".
1. Game doesn't even have a release date yet how are you imagining you can judge performance? Aren't we clickbait grifting at this point?
2. Do you care so much about handheld performance of a game that it would affect your buying decision? I bet you hated Oblivion remaster and every UE5 game and the original Elden Ring on PS5 which was recommended to play in PS4 more for fps. We had a term for that once. Graphics whore. I wonder if you will skip a PS6 game it plays shitty in low power mode.
