Off screen gameplay video of borderland 2 vita

Why is it slow motion?
:(

It really is. I hope that's just an older build and that the final game isn't going to run that slowly. I don't care if you skip frames, but at least make sure the action that is supposed to occur within 1 second of time actually occurs within 1 second of time. I don't want to feel like I'm playing an old NES game with that controller that had the "slow" button that just kept pausing and unpausing the game.

Everything looks like it's in slow motion, as people have said - that grenade throw was comically slow. So strange!

My concern is why they decided to port Borderlands 2 To VIta , seems like a late port more now that the game is cheap and even plus members got it weeks ago.

Jeez. They'd have been better off putting the effort into making a 60FPS port to PS4 and then just having it be available on VITA by proxy through remote play. The 10 people that have Vitas and were still interested in this game after all of these delays and now, seemingly terrible end result would probably have had PS4's and been willing to get it for the better experience instead of this 10fps nonsense.

Weird. The Vine looked fine (with clear cutbacks) but from what you can see in the jerky Instagram it looks like the enemy animation is on a different cycle than the landscape engine, characters are animating like 2D cut-outs with jumps between keyframes instead of blending.

The grenade explosion looked like a single-frame bitmap. Obviously they've had to make some real downgrades to make this work. Will wait for proper footage and reviews, though. But not hopeful! :(

Actually this looks to have gotten the Peace Walker treatment - 20 FPS (sorta stable)
Youtube version looked much better as far as FPS was concerned.

EDIT: Whoa at the lighting! No shadows!

The guy that posted the video claims to have some dev knowledge (lol at this thing's success potentially leading to a Vita exclusive subseries): https://twitter.com/EditorGed/with_replies
Ok, I'm actually really impressed. The thing looks native res! What?! Maybe I'm wrong but usually I'm good at telling this stuff. If they iron out the framerate issues that are sometimes there, I will get this the second it's available. It looks really nice!

More than the framerate issues and random freeze, it feels like the game is running at a lower speed than other versions.

Or maybe i'm just imagining it, it's not like the game was that fast to begin with, especially at the start.

Way back, randy pitchford said that he wanted to get borderlands 2 on vita if sony was willing, now here we are.

Missing effects, poor framerate, sub-native resolution all while in single player only. Online co-op will be a slideshow

Please don't buy this guys.

Is it sub-native? Looks native res to me in e video. Missing effects we expected going to a weaker system. Framerate seems to fluctuate but the game isn't finished yet so I'll give that some benefit of the doubt.

How can you tell that by looking at that video?

You can just kind of tell. I've seen so many native and sub-native games that I can usually tell even off-screen. Now, don't get me wrong, it could definitely turn out to be sub-native, but it looks to me like native res.

You can't

Injustice looks Native Res in this, yet it's sub native res.

Nah, you're wrong. You can tell in distant edges that it's sub-native. But here you can tell that it's sharp even on distant objects, as well as the black outline on objects being sharp even on diagonals.

I'd thought they'd be a lot further along by now, but I'm sure they'll get framerate where it should be.

its kinda crazy how Sega released the best current/last gen port (thats not an ps2 hd remake).

virtua tennis 4 was native res, 60fps, near same level of detail in character models, and had less loading than consoles.

The YouTube video makes this look nice. Vine and Instagram videos make it look... Not so hot. Definitely getting it, despite owning it on PC, and having it on PS3 from PS+

Even if I didn't want it, I'd get it when I buy a 2000 so...

Nah- Playstation All-Stars was a lot closer to the PS3 version than Virtua Tennis 4 was. Well that's multiplatform technically... But whatever. Still.

Also, both Rayman games.

I watched in full quality and it looked subnative to me. That's only acceptable if you're sacrificing for a solid framerate, which they couldn't achieve either. Missing effects is not a huge deal, but some of the different elemental weapons have such cool effects that it really hurts this game in particular.

Just watched the 4 min gameplay video. A little bit better than the Instagram video, and on par with the Vine, but...I don't know, the game feels "slow". I don't mean low FPS, I mean the animations when recharging, the enemy attacks, etc.

Yikes. :-\

That framerate is just not good enough. It wouldn't do the game justice.

Instagram vid looked bad, Youtube vid looked great. Guess you have to wait and see the final result

I noticed that too, I don't know if that is typical borderlands because everything else looked pretty smooth too me.

So is there a reason why they don't map L3/R3 to the front touch screen? Just seems easier to do things if you ask me. Or just give us fully customizable controls >_>
