???
Jay's verse was not aimless. He returned the shots Drake sent at him, addressed his 5% background, all black ownership, etc.
This doesn't make sense he was never the favourite, and is he equating his time when he assumed he was the favourite to being overrated and underpaid?
Can someone explain to me how this is a "shot". And how Drake is "crying" about this.
You guys really reach, especially when it comes to Drake. I suppose I'll be drowned out by mindless "Drake is soft" gifs ad-nauseam though.
Jay Elec outshined Jay-Z on this record.
They both annoy me now so its enjoyable watching them two go at it.
Drake is a cornball who raps about his fantasies of growing up in the streets and shit. Jay sounds like every bar is sponsored by some corporation these days.
lol this guy. how about you read the thread if you're not going to listen to the song and answer your own questions. It's only about 50 posts long.
When has Jay-Z ever not been outshined? Guy is tone deaf
He probably has very little motivation at this point in his career, hard to blame him.
I'm not a big fan of the money defense in rap, but that was pretty good.

I would love to see dude's world tour footage. Some of the stories behind it are crazy.for some reason I found this hysterical
Wayne doesn't make much of anything, dude is on a slave deal. Drake and Nicki Minaj actually have very good deals. I hate to sound like I'm stanning Drake here but let's be real: dude is eating. This argument wasn't logical when Pusha T made it a few years ago and is even less logical now.Drake idolizes Hov. He's put it on record before. So when Jay responds to him saying that he doesn't like Jay's subject matter and then proceeds to call out Drake's questionable claims of being a true boss (Birdman, Wayne, J Prince all make bread off him, forget major label distro guys) and then questions some of the 'harder' tough guy bars Drake has been laying down, it might have Drake feel some type of way, especially since Drake is an openly emotional man.
Pretty reasonable analysis, I think.

Jay taking shots at Drake is cheap shit. That's when you know dude is desperate for something. Straight hater shit, just like when Drake got mad at Future. Another fucking unsubstantiated squabble of a beef in hip hop for us to have to deal with for the next few months. Yeah, not a fan. What ever happened to Jay-Zing the situation?
Just some warning shots telling him to keep his name out of his mouth. That's the diss?
Man.. that's... awful.

You're not stanning Drake, you're just taking the anti-Jay viewpoint, no surprises there.
I'm not saying he's not eating or that he doesn't make great real money or popular records, and neither is Hov. I'm saying that Jay is basically saying that Drake isn't on his level; in terms of hustle, gangsta, or recognition. And that will get to Drake. And Pusha T clowning on Drake's hustle isn't the same as Jay doing it.
Yes it's unsubstantiated, it was a critique and not an insult, and Jay took it as an insult. He played the sonning card because he was hurt by a critique, not an insult. And he knows how much Drake looks up to him and considers him on a higher plateau, that hasn't changed either....Responding to a major artist who calls you corny is desperate and unsubstantiated? It's not like he called him names or even went in on him, he just gave him a couple bars on some 'watch your mouth' shit. Plus the rest of his verse was good, it had content.
When Jay responds to people, it's petty. When he doesn't respond to people, he's a coward.
Man, can Jay Z stop playin himself?
Just retire. You haven't been good in years.
Magna Carta Holy Fail was the most overrated album of last year.
I mean in these streets, homie.
Pretty sure GAFHOP disliked the album as well.
The point is the argument wasn't accurate by either of them.
How does Drake rap about stuff he doesn't have? That's my beef with the line: it's not accurate. If Jay said that about Young Jeezy or a host of other "fake it till you make it" types I'd buy it. Hell even if he dissed Ross like that I'd be inclined to buy it.
Drake isn't a boss but he's on his way. Again, I'm not stanning Drake. But Jay has a penchant for attacking people based on money, and in this case he seems to be off base.
When Jay responds to people, it's when it has escalated to the point where he has to say something. When he doesn't respond to people, he's showing he truly is above all of these pointless squabbles. And this is 100% a pointless squabble. He didn't have to say shit about this, maybe address it in an interview, but no he took it personally. This is clearly not the Def Jam dynasty Jay anymore who would be above other major artists insulting him, let alone just stating their preferences and getting mad about it.
EDIT: if this is new, I guess he was hurt by how Rosenberg had brought it to light that he has been riding Ye's coattails for a while too.
I mean in these streets, homie.
Jay has the ability to produce great music but he should never ever step in front of a mic.
His best songs are the ones where the music is strong enough that it is able to transcend his awful voice.
