So, for people who have already seen the flick, how is the character of Winter Soldier?

Probably the most intimidating villain that Marvel has put out yet. For the first half of the movie they'll let you know that he's an enigma to be feared, shrouded in the mystery of a dark conspiracy theory.

And he also has the combat chops to stand up there with the best. He's exciting stuff.

I only got Spiderman and Godzilla, but I saw it in the IMAX 3D version. Was hoping for GOTG

Oh yeah...I was hoping to see anything GOTG related stuff too. Dang...
I thought James Gunn said we'll get something around the time of Cap 2 release.

We in Poland had trailers fo GoTG, Spider-Man 2, Divergent, and i guess Noah, i don't remember. Nothing new, though.

EDIT: Also, Scarlett Johansson talked really weird in this movie, in that raspy voice with an odd intonation. I don't remember her doing that before.

Hmm so it seems fairly mixed, thanks guys.

I really want to see how an audience reacts to GoTG trailer. So hopefully they show that.

Really excited for this one. Winter Soldier looks absolutely badass and intrigued to see exactly what Robert Redfords character is up to.

I haven't seen the movie yet, so this isn't a spoiler, but I would be surprised if Redford wasn't some evil villain. From the trailers it seems entirely too telegraphed that he is.

I don't think he said anything like that, but if he did, I think he'd mean the US release.

I wouldn't expect a new GotG trailer until May, probably attached on Amazing Spiderman 2 to start. I would, however, expect the first GotG trailer to be attached to Winter Soldier at most showings.

Nifty AND saffron-colored!
Got a gotg trailer in Sweden, unfortunately it was the same as the first one without the initial music. It was kinda funny though that we got spider-man, gotg and x-men all in a row. Marvel domination.

Edit: gotg was the only trailer people reacted to, and it was with cheers

My only regret is watching this before Guardians of the Galaxy.

Before I was going in expecting nothing more than some good Rocket Raccoon action. But now I have expectations of it being a good film. Don't let us down Feige!

Also, wtf at Anthony and Joe Russo directing credits. They have no action experience but fucking nailed it on their first time...

'Community' paintball episode.

Most reactions I've heard are all positive!!!
I got my tickets in hand to see it tomorrow night here on Costa Rica :D

Everyone has this movie before the US!

I appreciate how candid Evans is being about his feelings on his role as Cap, but at the same time, I do hope he finds a way to eek out some more positivity in regards to his time left with the role, which is still quite a bit.

He always looks so sad during the press stuff. He does such a great job as Cap, I hope he can build on the successes and not all the stuff surrounding it that seems to make him unhappy.

Hes an interesting guy. If I remember correctly, he had/has a bunch of personal anxiety issues and he was afraid of taking the roll in the first place. He has this great outlook and has gone to therapy to deal with some of his issues regarding being in the spotlight in general. When Cap1 came out he had a bunch of similar interviews regarding fame and whatnot. Pretty interesting. He has a cool quote that says something like,"If you're afraid of doing something, then you should do it."

A lot of major blockbuster studios need to take notes on Marvel's unorthodox choices for directorial roles.

Choosing Jon Favreau to direct Iron Man, a director who's mostly only been known for comedies and acting. Kenneth Branagh directing Thor, a director who's career is most known for Shakespeare adaptations. Entrusting Joss Whedon, a man who is a huge cult favorite despite no massive successes prior, to deliver one of the most demanding movies in cinema history, intertwining five movies preceding it and all sorts of heroes, in a balls-out dynamic-driven high budget action film.

And now getting the two guys who did a lot of good stuff on Arrested Development and Community to direct one of the best Marvel-related movies of all time.

I don't know what kind of eye for unproven talent it is that Marvel has, but this is how innovators and a new generation of directors are born.

Really makes me eager to see the choices made for Doctor Strange.
From Director, to lead actor, to genre and tone.

I wasn't a big fan of the animated movie for Strange, thought it was boring.
But MCU treated stiff so fat has all been entertaining. Not every day thrown has been a bullseye, but they've all landed on the board. So I'm really curious to see how Doctor Strange is handled.

You can pose the fingers too!? Or does it have switchable hands?

Just switchable hands.

Just saw it. LOVED it. Arguably my favorite MCU movie together with Iron Man and Avengers. I really liked the first film (and I know I'm kinda alone in this) but The Winter Soldier surpasses it easily. Thrilling, tense, bombastic - this movie has it all.

And I loved that (non-MCU movie)
Pulp Fiction
reference near the end. I literally laughed out loud.

GG Marvel.

I am checking this thread probably way too often for my own good. Still haven't bought tickets to the movie (will check with my wife what days work with her to go) but, damn, if every single reaction posted in this thread isn't hyping me up even more.

It'll be interesting to see the wave of negative reactions (and what the common critical points are) that invariably happen when the US release hits. Not saying that there's any difference in the movie-going population, just that the pattern seems to happen every time.

Now I feel cheated.

Likewise...

so for peeps that saw it, whats the word on the post credit scene, if it has one. Any Age of Ultron teasing? reply with spoilers of course :)

edit: nvm I went back a couple of pages and saw it

Just saw it. Iron Man 3 is still my favourite. That movie was fantastic, yet this is still pretty great! Top notch action and good story, but man the dialogues sucked and I miss a massive plot twist. The climax went strangely down near the end too. Overall this phase 2 is delivering and this is a great Cap movie. Winter Soldier is the best character in the movie!

Just saw it, fucking fantastic. Everything i wanted from a Cap film and more. Enjoyed it a hell of a lot more than the first film.

I can't wait until the score hits. It really elevated the scenes, Henry Jackman nailed it.

The music that played whenever The Winter Soldier was on screen was chilling.

Saw it tonight, went to a non-3D showing and theater was pretty empty to my dismay. We we're 8 people and I made them stay through both credits scenes. To non Marvel fans they are pretty useless since they will have no idea what is going on most of the time.

Anyway I loved the movie and it probably the best one yet, perhaps only eclipsed by Iron Man. I love Avengers too, but outside the spectacle there is not that much to it, where as this one can stand on its own.

Will post better impressions in the spoiler thread as to not inadvertently spoil anything in here.

Just got back from an advanced screening and ... wow, just wow. I can say without a doubt this is the best solo MCU film ever (even better than Iron Man 1), the action is just incredible (when the Russos said they were influenced by The Raid: Redemption, they weren't kidding), and the stakes are raised so high, the effects the film will have in the MCU are just immense. I can't wait to see it next week when it premieres.

And for you Community fans...
Abed makes an appearance.
