what's the easiest covenant to max out? Sunbros?
and I still don't understand how Brotherhood of Blood works.
Pilgrims, it's just the three short dungeons and the boss.

How are Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2 linked? Shared world, plot, characters?

I'm thinking of going dark hex, have my INT at 40 already and planning to get my FAI up to 24 (affinity). I may get my INT up to 50, but I'm curious if I should get my STR up to 20 to 2-hand the crypt blacksword, or if I should just go up to a dark large club..
If you're going Hex, you might want to keep your INT and FAI close to each other, as it scales of the smaller one of them.
Holy shit that wasrats.a lot of fucking
they're indeed linked, you should see that by yourself if you read the lore and play the game. if you really want to know just chek the lore thread. How are Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2 linked? Shared world, plot, characters?
I'm an hexxer, guard breaking is only possible through a shotgun spell at point blank (and even then I'm not sure it would work against every greatshield).
openings are hard to get, especially with the lag. I guess it's the same for everybody, but the number of times I get hit by a roll->attack when I got clearly out of the way is frankly annoying.
so, no secret weakness ahah. have you ever been hit by force or emit force? I wonder how much guard break they produce.
I do agree that over-reliance on shields is a bad idea, especially since now every blow seems to stun you a little. I didn't try greatshields so I don't know about them, but I really feel like "medium" shields have become quite useless in most situations.
haha yeah just did that part last night; had to break my info blackout - "wait, ok what's going on here?"
Thanks. Gonna check that out. There is no key to that door. You must go around and drop down from a ledge. I think its at the place where that fire lady is standing on another side of a gap. When you get into this room, jump down to the right. You find a treasure chest in that area, and you can open the door (no key required, the door can only be opened from one side).
I almost had a heart attack towards the end of the fight when i got poisoned.
MY GOODNESS:How do you guys deal with them in melee fashion? Those mace knights in the dragon shrine do not let up!
Run.
No, seriously. Run. The sword and the shield knights aren't too bad, but the hammer knights have like infinite stamina, and depending on how slow your weapon is, they might get you as you're attacking
You have to be smart with your running though. The first two knights can be safely run past, but the area where there are two of them is hell.
It's not worth fighting them every time.
Did they say when the big patch is going to release?
What's the big patch supposed to change ?
Get your INT to 40, the returns between 20-30 are poor, but hitting 40 gives you a boost. The hex guy on the way to huntsman's corpse sells a good staff. Archdrake. Make your Faith 8 I think it is and you can always use a soul vessel afterwards. If you're going to do that actually make your faith 20, he gives a good staff/caster set for free at 20+ INT/FTH. The staff is more for hexes though, so your Archdrake will be best, but I believe the armour is good. Your issue right now is he won't talk to you with your faith stat soo low.
The fire longsword is a good low dex/str weapon to pick up for an INT build as well.
Yes, those I can handle and I did notice they have an infinite stamina. I hate running because I love to master every enemy in the game. Any good strategies or did FROM go a little overboard with them?
So...does anything change in NG++? I heard new items are dropped.
Also, is it just me or miracles are better than magic until the point the crazy shit like Soul Geyser becomes an option.
The first two lightning lances seem to make a lot more damage than the spells so far.
How does the soul vessel work again?
Any penalty? I have two, around the same level as this guy, but faith of 4. Seems too expensive at this point to get it to 8. I could really respec just go get the merchant to talk to me, and then respect back to whatever I want for no penalty?
I haven't played either, so I wanted to know if I would miss anything skipping to 2. Thanks for the "booty" post.Play the game and find out.
Hmm...if you can poison them, or do good range damage to them, that's a strategy. Otherwise I can't recommend anything besides waiting for openings, which is much easier to do with the sword and spear/shield knights.
In the area past the two knights there are a lot of stairs. Souls enemies tend to have trouble with elevation and will often miss you. Use that to your advantage.
Seems like a good update.
Bosses drop new souls which you can trade for weapons.
But that already happened in NG+.
I am talking about finishing the game twice and thinking of going for the third one.
Man. Theare no joke. I spent forever banging my head against them tonight. I "stooped" to summoning.Gargoyles
Feel kinda cheap about summoning. Every-time I do, I feel like I'm cheating somehow. 0_o
Unless I'm confused, on NG++ you get new souls. Like you get the Old Paledrake soul from Freja to get the Moonlight Greatsword. As for any cycles past that, nothing new happens.
do you mean those magic weapon buffs? I'd try them but 30-40 points in INT is a lot for a dex focused build, I think.
I love invading bell tower as a blood bro. People flip out especially the bell invaderHad the weirdest Bellbro invasion just then. I got invaded by a twink because she was holding either two Moonlight Greatswords or one of them plus a Bluemoon Greatsword. So I get caught by its special attack and promptly died, but not before I get invaded again. This guy though, was red, and came up behind the Bellbro and slaughtered her.
So weird.
Another thingshows how garbage the lock on in this game can be. I mean wow. Could you possibly pick an enemy further from my range?royal rat vanguard
Could someone explain to me what the deal with the Vendrick fight?
The first time around I was doing about 180 damage per hit. Had him about half way within a few mins then he knocked me out. The next time I go in and I'm only getting 8 damage per hit. What gives?

You didn't use up the Souls of a Giant did you?
You have to have 5 souls of the giant in your inventory to drop his defense to the minimum level
Be wary of locking on for that fight.
Still have my 3 giant souls. Only thing I did that was different, was head out and spend the 50k souls I had from the fight before heading straight back in.
First time i fought him there was no a fog gate and next time there was.
