LOL, you guys! Looks like we have a consensus on the OT title. Who is planning to do the OT anyway? Really hope it's BOB. Would go well with his style :D

After the ridiculous ps4 is melting, upgrade confirmed, etc i think it's warranted. If the comment does not apply to you, then there would be no reason to quote it. Regardless, its beyond comical that this turned out to be ps4 footage. Comment was for those that have no clue. Are you that person? I don't believe so.
 
I'm actually pretty surprised people think that looks good. Low Q vid or not I didn't find what I was seeing to be that impressive. If that were apparently the PC version as first thought, I would think that's pretty bad.

LOL. I figured this would happen. Sure is confirmation bias when I first saw the footage touted as the PC version my immediate thought was it looked like shit. You have to figure if they're showing off a PC version it's going to be running on the highest settings. If the highest settings is that... no thanks.

You're the one talking nonsense. I own a PC, PS4, PS3 and 360 and 99.9% of the multiplats I have played and compared have been better on PC. Bugs exist in equal measure these days on PCs and consoles. The only difference is, you can usually do something to improve things on the PC whereas you have to wait for developers to hopefully patch things on consoles.
 
Well I own even more platforms and I have played even more games on all platforms and 99.999% have been best on the Vita.

I can't wait for this game to come out so we can stop talking about it's graphics and instead talk about how underwhelming it is.

I know, I know. I haven't played it and it could be Game of the Year. But I just have a gut feeling from the footage we've seen that this is gonna be a very "meh" game.

Way to paint with a broad brush as wide as the pacific ocean. Who are these "you all" you refer to? There were like 3 or 4 PC guys that were hating on the PS4 based on this video. Everybody else was just throwing out their opinion about the looks of the game. Some people were saying it looks great and some people were saying it wasn't that impressive and didn't look too much different than the recent PS4 footage. The fact hundreds of you jumped on this as an opportunity to deride PC gamers shows who the real haters are.

They were probably just showing the game outside of prime conditions. I'm sure the game will look prettier in certain weather/daylight conditions than in others.

If there is another thread where 3 or 4 Xbox or Playstation fans say something stupid and hundreds of other people pile on and use it as an excuse to ridicule that group of gamers in general, then, yeah, I will say the same thing. I often stick up for platforms I don't own. If somebody is saying something completely nonsensical about the Wii U or the Xbox One I will defend them even though I don't own those platforms.

All this gleeful recrimination is well and good, but it seems like rather than reveling in the misfortune of a few misguided posters, reasonable people would be a bit more upset that apparently no one will be getting a version even roughly on par with the 2012 reveal.

Even though this was a joke post, it does sum up the entire thread. There were folks who came in with the intent of saying,"OMG WATCHDOGS ON PC IS AWESOME, CAN'T BELIEVE PS4 SUCKS SO BAD." prior to them knowing it was actually PS4 footage. And then there are those individuals, that now know that the footage is indeed from the PS4 dev kit, who are now saying, "I KNEW THIS WAS PS4 FOOTAGE, LOOK HOW SHITTY IT IS." Obviously that was a broad, general statement and does not apply to everyone. I'm sure there are those (much like myself) who thought the footage was very meh from the the get go. Still hilarious nonentheless.

To be fair broad strokes are looked down on here. Go ahead and toss out a "SonyGaf" post and see how far it gets you. Yes, the few posters who went nuts for the footage deserve to be laughed at because it was hilarious. But that poster made a blanket generalization and that's a no-go no matter which "faction" it's targeting.

You misunderstand my post I think. I'm saying UBI released these footage full well knowing that it was PS4 but let people think it was PC to get reactions of "DAMN PC VERSION LOOKS NICE!!" Then to come out and say j/k it was PS4 all along. PC will look even better no doubt but PS4 version is coming along damn nicely.

It's hilarious and really represents how superficial gamers are nowadays. Like you said, it doesn't apply to everyone, but it's really sad how many people actually got duped and drooled over the footage thinking it was PC footage.

I thought it looked better than the earlier footage, and my opinion remains unfazed.
 
I'm going to assume quite a few Watch Dogs fans browse this thread, so I figured I might as well post it here: I'm visiting Ubisoft next week for my site and I can interview Jonathan Morin about Watch Dogs.

If anyone has any serious questions they would like to see answered, feel free to quote me or PM me. I'll try my best to get you an answer. Be aware any questions related to the "downgrade" probably won't get answered seeing how they seem to avoid that topic. Asking if the framerate is unlocked or locked 30fps on PS4/Xbox One could be an option though.
