You know what'd be awesome? If Pac-man's final Smash turned everyone into blue ghosts stuck in a maze overlay, and Pac-man turned into his old arcade form and hunted down players.... yeah.

Great Summary intellihealth. Had not realized development began two years ago. Now I'm stupidly building up more hope for a summer release.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if we finally discover that the Wii U and 3DS versions have separate release dates. Staggering it so that Wii U comes first might garner some real console sales.

I have a feeling that late Summer to Holiday would be more safe to bet on.

Remember they had to work on two games at once, which is completely different than Brawl but at same time, Brawl development had it's own problems which is pretty bad.
 
Haha, I can't help but feel a little bad for poor Isabelle. She's great, but her announcement was completely overshadowed by the Smash Direct!

Today is a good day for Smash Bros. announcements. I don't know if I'll be able to hold out until Tuesday.

Sakurai know that most of people don't give a single damn about her, so that's why she is a perfect fodder for Direct Announcement. ;P
 
simultaneous release date is all i want and ill be perfectly fine with this direct

fuck a release date in general. when little mac was revealed I thought iwata was announcing a date but he just said 2014 again
 
I feel releases will work out like this.
Mario kart 8 may 30.
Hyrule warriors july
Sonic boom end of august
Smash 4 end of september
Bayoneta end of october
Yarn yoshi november
+surprise annoncement at e3 december 2014
X Feb 2015
zelda u spring 2015

Perhaps you could flip yarn yoshi and x.
But I doubt X will make it into 2014.

So, if they're having a smash direct next week anyway, why didn't they just throw all of the Mario Kart info into the same direct for one big sha-bang?

Me and you both. I tried to beat my boss to the punch before he sent out the schedule for next week but Fuck me, I was too late. Now I am trying to trade doubles with someone and it may be going well!

In the event that I fail, I need a place I can watch the whole stream post Direct.

If this is the first of 2+ directs, then i assume they'll show off online closer to release. If this is magically a june release, then, sure, they could. Even though it's basically been in dev as long as brawl, they're developing 2 games, they're developing HD art assets, and we don't know what singe player modes, online features, and customization features the game will include. If it's fully loaded, it might not be out so soon. I'm guessing this is basically part 1 of 3 full feature post-reveal smash directs. part 2 is E3, part 3 is right before launch. The one right before launch will be the online one.

The preperarions are kind of the fun part; when I realized that I wasn't off on Tue and it was too late to change it, I went into puzzle solving mode and tried every viable avenue, till I realized I only had one possible solution. That solution happens to be a single mom who loves to work and needs the money (more than I apparently)

Ha, I am bringing her a chocolate donut tomorrow too
