Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 6: Final Destination confirmed for not fun

I know what he is saying, but I find taste to be a defining feature of human life. The point of these forums is fo debate these things.
You're not debating though. You said yourself that you're not making an argument. You're just ignoring what everyone says and insulting Miis and everyone who likes them, like you did in the first post where I said you were being ridiculous. That's not debating, it's just being ridiculous. We can't take you seriously when you take up so much time just posting stupid insults.

looking forward to mii being broken-tier and smash 4 tourney finals of squidward vs. jesus
Weegee vs Sanic

Actually, I haven't ignored anyone. I have responded appropriately to each person out there.

Also, making an argument =/= debating. Arguments are formal. This discussion is highly informal. Nothing will be proven here, but views may be exchanged.

You are rather hypocritical, though. While I listed several reasons for my distaste in Miis, the only thing you have done is insult me. At least my claims are tangible on some basis.

Mii's are boring, but not the worst thing that could happen to this game. That gem of a title belongs to Bayonetta.
Surrounded by Mii lovers and Cereza haters...

No, that's exactly what a debate is. Debates are even more formal than arguments. You have no idea what you're talking about. You're just stating your same, insulting opinion (with no basis at all other than the fact that you don't like them) over and over. That's the exact opposite of an argument, discussion, or debate. People have been listing reasons why Miis deserve to be in the game, and you just respond with "but they're awful", like in the post where I first called you ridiculous.

This obviously isn't going anywhere. You're impossible to have a discussion with, so I'm not going to try any more. If you seriously think the things you're saying about are true, I'm really sorry.

A lot of people seem to assume that we'll be able to put our own Mii's faces onto the Mii character in Smash, but I'm not so sure those two things are inherently joined. Could see a Villager type scenario regarding Mii's appearance.

You are a very confused person.

First, I never made claims regarding whether Miis deserve to be in the game. I said that Miis are ugly, and that people who like them are depraved. This has nothing to do with deservedness, which is a stupid concept in general for fighting game rosters. At no point did I argue whether Miis "should" or "shouldn't" be in the game. I would obviously prefer that they remain excluded, though.

Second, no, debate is not formal argument. Debate is informal argument by its very definition:
(See end link - my phone keeps messing the paste job up if I link it here)

Maybe you think formal means folks dress up nice and take turns in an organized fashion. I do not know. I do know that you do not know what the words you are using mean, and you do not have any idea what has happened over the last few pages. Tangentially related: I judge debates now and then. Of course, this is not an organized debate (which is different from formal).

You are welcome for the explanation.

Formal arguments:

Unlikely, since Miis have no value at all if they aren't avatars, and all of the resources for their pictures are on the system. It is probably the least resource intensive character to make in the entire game.

IF Mii happens, then I can see them using Reggie Mii for trailer.

That's doubtful, imo. There is obviously no built-in system to import a customized Villager, so it makes sense for it to be standardized. With Miis there's no excuse.

People chickened out of the Palutena bet so I don't even know if the losers have to don an avatar.

I can safely say that I was among the few who accepted the avatar part.

Problem was, people started calling teams before we even established penalties or that it might be an avatar bet

I'm guessing Miis are fully customizable. You can change the name, appearance, and choose from a pool of preset movesets. Movesets like light, medium, heavy, etc.

Mii's are boring, but not the worst thing that could happen to this game. That gem of a title belongs to Bayonetta.

amen.

I honestly don't think Miis are bad at all. They are the most neutral character that could ever be added. They're avatars.

Now, I can see them getting annoying online. But I see it being as common as Mario Kart. They could always not allow Miis online.

no way, that's far too much effort for one character

Eh it wouldn't be that much effort if it were like three different weight classes:

Light and Fast, but weak
Balanced
Heavy and Power

overall i don't care about miis, but i slightly lean towards not having them in the game. it could make for some funny screens, but i dunno. just not feeling it

I sincerely doubt anyone will main the Mii when the game launches. There are too many actually good characters to use. The exemplar of a wasted slot.

How can you estimate that without knowing anything about a potential moveset or ANYTHING about the character? Predicting the metagame this far in advance is impossible.

You're right. Maybe I am wrong, and kids will like to pick "themselves" to face off against major gaming icons. I doubt people will do stuff like main "Darth Vader Mii", because the moveset will be same-y across all Miis.

You guys are dicks. I was given false information.
All in good fun.

I hope Miis don't make it in. I do recognize that they're an important part of Nintendo's history, so I won't be too disappointed if Sakurai includes them. I just don't find them aesthetically appealing.

I've been playing some Kart 7 lately, and the Miis do take away from the feeling that all these Mario characters are getting together to compete. I see Mario and Luigi and Bowser all on the race course... and then I see two people playing as plastic customizations of themselves.

The problem is I just don't care what "Joe" or "Toriyama" look like. The Mii benefits their experience, I suppose, but it does so at the detriment of the art style for everyone they play with. I'd rather see their virtual avatars be characters that fit the universe. And honestly, who you choose within the Marioverse tells me just as much about your personality as your Mii does.
