Koi Kaze 1
Reading a lot of
Natsu no Zenjitsu yesterday, I felt like revisiting the author's older story, but this time in anime format.
27-year-old Koshiro Saeki has just broken up with his long time girlfriend and has lately been in a constant state of apathy, even before the break-up. He wasn't even the least bit shaken up when Shoko told him that she has fallen in love with another man, but rather, accepted it immediately. Because of this, the following day when she comes to retrieve her spare apartment keys, she questions whether Koshiro has ever loved anyone from the bottom of his heart.
Shoko could not know, but that very morning Koshiro's heart went aflutter from the sight of a certain young high school girl during his train commute. She has dropped her pass and Koshiro stepped out of the train to give it to her, so it was merely a little one-time event that was quickly forgotten. Or it
would have been, had he not been by coincidence greeted by the same girl later that day after work, while clutching his just received 2 free amusement park tickets in his hand.
The high-schooler Nanoka gladly accepts the invitation to spend time at the amusement park. While there, the two open up about their troubles and Koshiro starts to develop feelings for this girl, despite the obvious 12-year age difference.
Oh, if only that were the issue... Nanoka will eventually grow into an adult, but she'll never grow out of being his long separated
sister, as we find out after their date at the park.
Pretty good first episode, it's was fittingly "quiet" and the voice acting so far has been very fitting for this kind of a serious story. I like that they picked an actual high schooler to do Nanoka's voice by speaking naturally rather than a more experienced VA who'd do her long practiced
"cute anime girl voice" in roles like this. Koshiro's voice is also bass as fuck, which kinda caught me off-guard, but it does make him seem even more like a big, slow, cuddly teddy bear.
This show will get all kinds of deliberate awkward and I'll love every second of it.
