WE'RE BACK! Was laughing so hard at how they opened up the episode with a Disney-esque musical number. Glad to see that
the organizers decided to hold another Love Live for additional teams to make it in, though Honoka having her reservations from doing again were pretty shocking.
In the end
her crew talked some sense into her and lit the idol fire within her heart to take center stage once again!
Let's go!

The hilarious facial expressions make their return as well, and this time it looks like they're not holding back when it comes to ships.

They made it quite clear that Maki and Niko are attached at the hip and spend any time available with one another. Thank you based doujins for being the cause of this.

Oh, Fairy Tale is back, and I can even watch it on CR, joy!

Does people here like it? It had very bad moments and too much pandering, but I found its finest moments really amazing (great music helped).

I have so many shows to finish from last season (and from the season before this)...

I read it from time to time, it's nice having something where i already know exactly what's going to happen sometimes

This is really similar to Ef- A Tale of Memories, I wonder if the ending would be similar to Ef.

I lost it at the " hand glider " but the "Intimidation LV2" was just too much.

It's really brilliant and hilarious. I also enjoy the voice of Kazama MC because the way he reacts is funny.

I think D-Frag is criminally underrated. It was easily the comedy of the season for Winter.

Yeah this is going to most likely be a really cute show with some feels mixed in. I don't expect it to get as dramatic as Ef, but chances are they'll go with an anime original ending since I don't think the manga is terribly far and it's apparently very slow to update.

Honestly? I can't think of another comedy where I actually giggled or laughed this season so I have to agree.

The only time I genuinely laughed in the new season of Seitokai Yakuindomo was on the very last episode when
the prez is walking away with what looks like a graduation diploma and the scene makes it seem like they're graduating as well, when in reality it was a giant sushi roll

And unless I'm completely forgetting another of the season's comedies...

FMP The Second Raid 06

Depicting torture as an effective means of intelligence gathering really doesn't sit well with me. I know the whole point of Mithril being an independent PMC is the ability to operate in certain gray areas, but this really crosses a line.

This scene with the hairdresser is played for laughs, but I can't help but feel that it's mean-spirited to depict a child soldier suffering PTSD for comedy. I saw The Winter Soldierthis past weekend, and there's a scene where Cap listens in on a veteran's support group and hears a woman tell a story about how she got pulled over for drunk driving when she swerved to avoid a plastic bag she thought was an IED. I think maybe the more serious tone of the first several episodes has made me want the show to handle this stuff with that kind of respect and gravitas, instead of Chidori slapstick.

At least it did what it needed to do to set up the haircut scene with Sousuke and Chidori a bit later. I think this might be one of the most intimate moments I've seen in any anime, ever.

I do not have the ability to forget things at will. But by god I will try to forget...whatever is it that Gates might have been doing.

I never like the part where the nominally hypercompetent organization does everything in its power to convince the hero to go rogue.

Haven't watched this yet but how is it like Ef? Does it do two different stories at once?

I really loved half of Ef memories. The Chihiro - Renji romance was some of the most enjoyable I've ever seen in anime from start to finish. The other half though, ehhhhh....

This was quite nice. Bittersweet, but more sweet than bitter. Both the leads seem nice. Hase is pleasantly not too wishy-washy, and Fujimiya is really sweet once you break through her defenses. Both the feel good and feels show of the season?

Saki The Nationals 13 + Final Thoughts

Much like the end of the first series, it feels like the beginning of another chapter. The callbacks to Achiga were nice, bridging both the season and the spinoff, but with no idea how long it's going to be until there's enough material for a season covering the next match - and if the finals do come, someday - that this season accomplished almost as much as it could. Still enjoyable, still Saki, just that it feels incomplete.

The story deals with a girl who loses her memories after one week and a boy who wants to be friends with her/is attracted to her accepting this issue but deciding not to give up and keep pursuing her to break her out of her shell and let her experience the joy of having somebody close to you.

So pretty similar to one of the stories in Ef. It seems like it'll focus more on the cute relationship between the two with a small bit of drama and feels, instead of the drama/artistic style of Ef.

she never thought about keeping one since she's never had somebody actually try to keep being her friend after they figured out her issue. Maybe she starts to keep one after one of these episodes, I mean I sure hope so

Chitoge has actually been okay these past few episodes, but not on the level of my Onedera!

Thanks for the info. I'm of two minds when it comes to this. The first is that they could have held some of the info back till later and gone a bit slower as I'm guessing some of the episodes in the middle are going to be on the slow side. My other reaction is that the first episode might work as a teaser if they delve into a lot of this stuff later and it's mainly there in the first episode to grab the audience's attention.

Oh and yea, BONES is putting in the work this year.

Koshiro's wisening up and getting much more comfortable in his position as the big brother, maintaining status quo, while now it's Nanoka's turn to feel conflicted. She can't help blushing when her brother gets close to her in the crowded morning train, her mind lingers on that moment at school and she even remembers his smell.

At school, Miyauchi turns out to be quite the bro. He hands out his friend Asano's love letter (of sorts, wants to start by hanging out) just like that, and is completely unaffected after overhering the girls gossip about him and Nanoka saying that she's not interested in Miyauchi.

Suddenly, life counseling. looks like Koi Kaze got here first, OreImo. Nanoka shows her brother the letter and the way she talks while he reads it, she's practically fishing for a "Turn him down!" comment. Koshiro tells her she could give the boy a chance, but also that it's ultimately up to her. She then decides to turn him down during the school festival and kinda feels guilty, but Asano doesn't seem to mind, at least on the outside.

On her way home from culture festival, Nanoka keeps pondering about why she likes her brother. She comes to the conclusion that it's kinda irrational; he's grumpy, kinda mysterious, but whenever he turns nice, it always takes her by surprise and has a large impact. The siblings bump into each other, Koshiro saving her from getting run over by a bike and tells her to come to him whenever she has problems like the love letter. But the one thing that catches her completely by surprise is when Koshiro actually calls her "Nanoka" for the first time and doesn't use "omae".

Then, from impulse to one-up these nice gestures, Nanoka straight up says "I love you". BOOM. Even she herself is surprised by that, and backtracks with "...Not like that!" as Koshiro goes into tsundere mode.

Bwahaha. That scene. You don't even have to say it and I already know what it is. FWIW later on in the story they do somewhat address the fact that it's wrong that Sousuke's foibles are always played for laughs.

Really impressed with the first episode. The art is gorgeous, the music was really good and I really like the two main characters.

Was really really good. Adorable and will probably be super heart-warming and heartbreaking.

Onodera's
coming to the end of her being an interesting character though.

So if you picked Onodera,
you picked the wrong girl and you deserve to be sad because she's a shitty character.

What I put in the tags doesn't spoil anything and is more my opinion on Onodera as someone who's fully caught up with the manga and people might not want to hear it.

Wraith's a jerk, but he's also laying down some harsh truths Sousuke would have inevitably had to grapple with eventually. I can appreciate that, for efficiency's sake.

Is it just me, or is Wraith kind of terrible at his job, letting Shorthaired Twin get within stabbing range of Kaname like that?

This ep was tense and emotional and all that, but I'm starting to jones for some explosions now.
