Good bye mahjong and lesbians... for now.

Ahhhhh I want more! ;_;

Pretty chill episode for the most part, now we wait
for another eternity
for the next season.

What's interesting to note near the end is that
looks like Kyouko Suehara will indeed be Saki's greatest threat in the competition (aside from her sister). Which is pretty fucking cool as she has no powers whatsoever (at this time). If they manage to develop her into some sort of beast while keeping her powerless I'll be very impressed.

This summer will be glorious in terms of AnimeGAF whining due to SAO. I hope people who never post here come by just to start discussing the show and go absolutely crazy talking and discussing their favorite waifus and how cute KiritoxGirl are.

I dunno. I don't think it will beat Anime-gafs state when Oreimo was airing. Or maybe I'm underestimating the shit that is SAO.

You're definitely underestimating the shit that is SAO. :lol

BUT!

BUT!

Since Kirito is a girl in this sequel, this will basically be a yuri paradise for me if all the girls continue to throw themselves at him. #makinglemonadeouttalemons

One thing that I don't understand is people judging an anime based of a first episode which I simply can't comprehend, like if I did that I would of dropped so many good anime like Hunter X Hunter, FullMetal Alchemist, Log Horizon, and etc.
Well, there's judging, then there's failing to be hooked. I can't make an entire judgement on a series off an episode, but I can say it failed to hold my interest... Or in extreme cases just looked really bad and wasn't worth my time, like something I caught off a Newtype sample eons ago about a kid and his teacher harem or whatever.

The first episode, if not the first few minutes is like an elevator pitch, and shows like Samurai Flamenco and Kill la Kill definitely had my interest from the first few minutes.

You took the words out of my keyboard.
This was a damn fin season but Saki the nationals should have been 26 eps !

We need to have the finals and the solo tournament afterwards ! There is so much to see ... OMG those beach screens !! OMG the yuri ..so strong , so intense ..so good.

13 eps were good but it's not enough i WANT MORE.

Expecting cool ninja fights, but seeing how Trigger labelled KLK as a fighting anime and then produced some of the worst animated fights I have seen in quite some time I'm going to be disappointed.

Oh Trigger, will you be forever destined to be inferior to BONES:

So inferior...

Yeah BONES does some really cool fight scenes. Even Blast of Tempest had some cool action scenes in it.

Yeah that was nice.

I've enjoyed what I've read of the manga (which is a mostly 4-koma) but it's also very slow paced. I imagine some people interested in this might find the "progression" in this story a little frustrating but that could be expected with stories dealing with this brand of subject matter. The atmosphere is definitely very saccharine which is something I like and the overall art direction and music is fitting for this story. I'm mostly keeping up with this to see how they'll eventually explain the whole memory thing but for the time being it's a very solid and enjoyable adaption.

Definitely, bones have some amazing animated fights if you include FMA and Soul eater, but with Kill La Kill from Trigger it just kinda failed later on. I mean the first episode looked like it was going to have some great fights because it looked over the top but then it just sunk. Hopefully Ninja Slayer doesn't get the same treatment, we can only hope.

One Week Friends 1

Adorable show, something nice to wind down with after the excitement of Friday's and Saturday's anime schedule. Art reminds me strongly of Usagi Drop.

Captain Earth 01

Well hey it looked pretty great. I liked the faces and the childhood flashbacks wasn't all that bad.

It just wasn't FABULOUS enough for me to want to keep watching though. ~_~

That flumpool OP was pretty stellar though.

Madoka Rebellion

In the end, the only god seen at work here is the writer and his pen. Sure, that point discontinuity might have enabled cool new shit to be put onscreen, but everything could just as easily have gone the other way were it not for the desire to have cool new shit and now it's not even clear what the overall arc means.

Kyubei was right.

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
Not a single comment on the transformations I am disappoint.

I think I can summarize this episode in one sound:

HHHHHHNNNNGGGGGGHHHH! (baby Nanoka is just so cute)

Koshiro reminisces about the few moments he and Nanoka shared before their parents divorced. He had that tendency to be extremely quiet and then downright bark at people when annoyed enough, just like he has now. Nanoka didn't really like that back then either.

Then while visiting his mother, Koshiro hears from her just how much Nanoka had been looking forward to meeting him, and how high a pedestal she puts him on.

He's finally determined to become a good big brother and nothing more... though I know that's not going to be succesful.

Finally, someone else agrees with me about the fact that what happened kind of screws up the entire franchise instead of going all
"What Homura did was so in character and I love the movie because they actually were able to do that."

Well I for one, certainly don't like the fact that Madoka has essentially become Code Geass.

Eh, I liked it. It does have some SD vibes going on, but SD main problem was that it used Utena formula, without understanding what made Utena great. This one seems more close to Gundam with a bit of Eva.

Poses were done well. Kind of got caught up in themselves overall, as if they lost their purpose halfway in only to remember it after a bit.

I can see the argument that at that point Homura was incapable of being handed an existence with Madoka even if it's what she desired, but by passing on that it leaves everything in a limbo that isn't really resolved outside being able to say "oh hey Homura is Satan to Madoka's God now!" Er ok, now what? What was even accomplished? To love is folly? Sure, I guess.

Alright Nintendoman. Which of your recommended anime should I start first?

Bored out of my mind on a Sunday, time to work on the backlog...

Squid Girl Season 2: 1, 2

Ah... so relaxing. Humor is still just as nice as the first season. Loved watching Squid Girl learn the fickle nature of children's attention spans.

Huh? What did I say? Did I screw up again? :(
Nice writeup. From the first line, I take it you've read the manga - I'll be interested to hear which you prefer by the end.

Koi Kaze is probably the only incest show I would call legitimately great. More people should watch it.
Edit - Actually, if Utena and Penguindrum count, those are pretty great too.

As far as incest is concerned, I like how Koi Kaze
paints the sick disgusting fucks for what they are. Seriously a pedophile and a under-aged seductress... a perfect match with no future
. Dat ending though >_<!

Agreed! It feels like we're just getting started and now we're stuck here waiting for god knows how long until another season gets greenlit. I want more and I want it now!

Tactical genius or no, there's a reason you don't give people this young and inexperienced a command position.

Tessa's projecting pretty badly here. Blaming Sousuke for not being honest about wanting to be with Kaname, when she's not being honest about the same thing.

Concussions are no joke, man.

You can reassign your personnel with no regard to their personal feelings, or you can train them to use weapons requiring a certain mental and emotional state, but trying to have it both ways is just dumb.

Overall, I really feel that the movie leaned on the weaker aspects of the TV series even as it tried to be ambitious. It possibly should be no surprise that it was on a road to nowhere.

Edit: Yes, Haly, I know.

And you said you wanted me to watch School Days just for the reactions? Oh boy...

Okay, I was joking about that one (partially). I gave it some thought and I kind of regret asking you to watch that. You reactions would be hilarious, but the show itself is not legit good.

Madoka and Gurren Lagann are legit good shows that I think you would enjoy.

Nah I don't mind. If other people would find my pain amusing then who am I to deny them such entertainment? :p

You know something I realized in Mahouka, the dude at the end of the opening with his magic pistol looks like Aoba from Buddy Complex. Just a funny observation.

I just realized that Madoka Rebellion is the Liar's Paradox put into anime form.

If it's a metaproduction expressing how Shaft sucks, then the symbolism is false.
If they actually just suck, then the elements that make it meta wouldn't be there.
