No Game No Life 1

Good first episode.

Absolutely loved how colorful everything looks.

Sora is boss as usual (A+ Smirk) and Shiro is still the cute/intelligent little sister as I remember her to be.

Hopefully, that scene is adapted so we can witness her becoming one of the best wingmans ever.

Nanana's Buried Treasure 1

Looks pretty pleasant and there were some nicely animated bits, but it still feels like the usual LN stories. That will teach that getting excited about an anime based on selected lewd pics posted by ZachDeKoromaru isn't the way to go. Dropping it, but I won't rule out picking it up later if more convincing visual samples were provided.

If may weigh-in...

I don't actually have anything to say because I haven't seen the show, I just wanted to make a boxing pun.

You better not make any of these without watching the show. I don't like people who say puns without earning them and I'll destroy you verbally. I warn you, I pull no punches.

Yo, SDBurton's av only has one girl in it. Did he lose a bet?

Nah lol, just wanted to roll with a Cinderella Girl to express my hype for that im@s anime announcement that occurred last week.

You don't know what's happening under the frame, bro.

Ohooo I wish!

If he had a twitter, I could just ask then! (He could also talk to Solune.)

I have a twitter but I don't even really use it. I miss Solune though so I'll probably get back into it so I can stay in touch.

Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san - 01

Definitely worth the wait. This season's purity has been saved.

Angel Beats!: Another Epilogue OVA

I can't say if I like this ending over the other. I suppose they could eventually be one and the same, with this preceding the real end, and this ending would no doubt fit better with
Otonashi's change of heart to stay at in limbo
at the end of the show. Possible
hinting a new team though? I'd be down if they ever got around to it
.

Angel Beats!: Stairway to Heaven OVA

Pretty hilarious bonus episode, though the tension meter was a stupid gag. Good to see the whole gang again.

Air in Summer 1

Jumping back to
Ancient Japan
. A few reused clips but more expansion on that arc and some of the characters we only got a short time to see. Actually pretty enjoyable. I'm a fan of Jay Hickman as a voice actor, he does a great job. Pairing him as the
ancestor of Vic Mignogna's character
was a smart choice.

Air in Summer 2

Dang, really going for that moe fan-service huh? Anyways, still pretty enjoyable. These three were some of the best characters in the show. Kinda makes me wish the show was actually set there and not
in the modern setting.

IT WAS WORSE

BANRI BANRI BANRI BANRI BANRI BANRI BANRI BANRI BANRI BANRI BANRI AND FUCKING FIREWORKS

ARGHHHHH so boring.

It's impressive though how much better it gets the very instant Banri is not there anymore, he gets out of the screen for the last few minutes and the episode is suddenly actually pretty good!

I thought I hated the cast, but I think I only hate him.

Please die, Banri.

Needs more Nana.

These names, they are backwards. </nitpick>

Gochuumon Wa Usagi Desu Ka? 1

Yep, this will do nicely as this season's requisite dose of adorable. It has a remarkably similar "feel" to Kin'iro Mosaic, most notably in the character designs, even though I can't see any actual connection staff-wise between the two series outside of their Kirara Max origins.

It also seems to contain a slightly higher level of fanservice than is usual for this type of show, with the first episode containing scenes of all the main girls in their underwear and a scene with two girls bathing together. You won't see me complaining about any of this, particularly since it's done tastefully enough to complement the cuteness rather than distracting from it. Delicious faux-yuri potential: pretty high.

My one real disappointment is that the OP didn't really make an impression on me. I find these cute shows often have the most fun and memorable themes, but this one doesn't seem like anything special. Pity.

Oh.

God.

This girl has an Omigawa-tier yelling voice. Her VA is on my list now!

It's like voices of the angels are being implanted directly into my brain and it just pumps endorphins straight into my body when she talks.

if I learned anything from watching this episode is that Seitokai Yakuindomo should have been just a 5 mins anime. Condense all the perverted humour and dump them so fast to make it hard to comprehend.

Accel World whereever I last episode I commented on-END
Well I really enjoyed it, the characters, art, animation, romance and even fanservice are much better than SAO, not to say that this was the best thing in the world, but it left a much better impression, the author was also able to build up off of the world SAO built in a positive way.

I dont know if there is a OVA or anything else after this, but I really hope there is, as it's just getting started all thing's considered. still dont know black snow's real name, they just got their "2nd power up type thing that all the stronger characters know and so becomes second knowledge as the series goes on" power with the incarnate system and a new organization is showing up, its kinda a shame it ended here and idk if accel world was popular, I knew of its existence, probably because i was popular at one point, but I would like to see it continue.
Also I love haru and black king's relationship, im totally for it.

Its so great. The show actually made it believable that KYH loves Haru. What did you think of
sky raker
? I also liked how the avatars in different areas reflected the region. Some great ideas I would very much enjoy seeing a sequel.
doubtful you will ever know KYH real name.

Naruto Shippuden 358

Splendid filler episode.

They handled the beginnings of the Coup d'etat with the village and Uchiha extremely well.

Loved those Shisui moments from his quick encounter with Ao, the betrayal with Danzo, and his untimely death.

Itachi activating Mangekyo Sharingan and reading the stone tablet were good scenes as well, but my particular favorite was that small scene when Sasuke and Itachi accompanied their mother to visit baby Naruto.

Always thought it would've been neat to see Kushina's best friend see her baby boy.

But this doesn't sound like filler. This doesn't sound like filler at all.

Now Shoko's starting to get some childhood adventures started, and the way things are happening for her is adorable, in that tsundere kind of way. Looking at her brief flashback, this may have been just what she wanted without realizing it. That entire scene between Karada and Tetsu was heartwarming and also slightly painful to watch. The aftermath of Karada's "disappearance" has affected the plotline of every episode in a way I can appreciate, and the way the plot with Kotomi eventually lined up with Karada's desire to tell her true feelings made for a pretty happy ending for this batch of episodes. The countryside atmosphere of this show is really good.

Ping Pong 1

Wow. I knew this was going to be something unique from the previews, but seeing a full episode just drove it home - this is just so different from any other anime I've ever seen on pretty much every level. Visual aesthetic, narrative style, the use of authentic Mandarin VAs for the Chinese characters, you name it, it's so not "anime" it's actually kind of offputting. This will take some getting used to.

Indeed, my initial impression at the very beginning of the episode was that I might not be able to get into this at all - the characters and narrative just felt so alien, it felt like it might not work for me. Thankfully, that feeling didn't last for the most part, and by the end of the episode I'd started to feel quite attached to the two apparent main characters Smile and Peko, as well as their cynical new Chinese rival.

Oh, and while the entire show is a visual marvel, I have to give special mention to the ED, which is fucking glorious to watch (and the song's pretty good too). God-DAMN.

The episode started so strong with that Koko/Nana interaction, it was funny and interesting, a bit exaggerated, but that's to be expected from this anime. What if we stay like that for the whole episode? NAAAAAAAAAAH LET'S GO BACK TO BANRI

The color choices here are so weird. It's like blinding.

Uh...it was ok? It didn't strike out to me as terrible but it wasn't the next best thing. Felt pretty average but I guess at least it wasn't another LN almost-like Index adaptation.

Doesn't read OPs, especially not his own
Accel World OVA 1

I wonder if this is canon and when it takes place, if it take place after the series ends then haru has slightly reversed in characterization and by the end of AW they were basically a couple, doesnt truly matter though as its a OVA and everything naturally worked out in the end.
Once I figured out what was going on in this picture I busted a gut

I feel like the atmosphere in this thread has become increasingly toxic to constructive/interesting/positive discussion and more and more filled with angst over the latest ephemeral LN adaptations or whatever. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like there was once a time when the celebration of the good wasn't crowded out by the bad.

Catching up and I'm only seeing the full conversation that happened here now.

I feel the same in a lot of ways. Personally I don't mind that people watch these shows as not everything will interest me. I don't hate the card battling type anime more aimed towards younger boys but I'm also not really that interested either. If others want to discuss a show or shows dealing with that then that's fine.

It's also true that not everyone will like or dislike the same things. If people point out what they feel are a shows faults then that's also fine and can lead to discussion. Personally what I don't like and find annoying is this idea of someone hating a show but they continue to watch it and pronounce their hate to everybody. When it gets to the point that people aren't even adding to the discussion and just start making all these hyperbolic and melodramatic statements it gets frustrating to try and read the thread.

I don't mind if people want to talk about SOA for example but it was when the first part was airing and people were just going on and on about how they hated the show and not really making any discussion. It got to the point that it was a whole bunch of people here in the thread and it was stifling out most or all other topics of conversation. This then went on for pages.

It's turned into sort of a joke/meme that "being animegaf is suffering" or "let's all suffer together" but personally I find it annoying. If you're just going to watch and post about a show to reiterate over and over how much you hate it then stop watching and posting about it and try something else you think you will enjoy instead.

Ok, it's been about ten episodes into the show, so while I've been kicking around this post in my head since episode one there's less of a chance it'll blow up in my face now. Well, that and writing takes work and all.

Why you should be watching Happiness Charge Precure

2pgC5Do.jpg

Phantom Empire with global ambitions

On the large-scale, Happiness Charge attempts something new by making the conflict global. In fact, the protagonists of the show aren't even the only team of Precure and their exploits are publicly known. The bad guys are also all personalities in their own right, and frequently exchange lines with the Precures to humorous effect.

I've read your post here and just wanted to comment on this part. It's true that in a lot of shows of just this general type that the villains will claim that they're trying to take over the whole world, or even in some cases the galaxy/universe, but often times you see them only attacking the same city.

A lot of the shows I can just let it slide as they're maybe entertaining enough with their character interactions or general story of the week. The fact that they do just focus on the same city is a bit strange though when you think about it.

The fact that HapCha (this is one shorthand that's just fun to say, haha) acknowledges this and even though you don't really see it, there's mention of ongoing attempts at takeover in other places and that there's actually other groups of PreCure defending these nations/territories, is nice to see. They can even use it in some other small ways such as Blue had to step out to meet up with one of the teams during this last weeks episode.

Hey, look, this episode is actually really good! Looks like things are finally going smooth again, Banri knows what he wants and won't whine all the time anymore, everyone is getting enough screentime so Banri doesn't ruin anything for talking too much, I may actually end up enjoying those final episodes as much as I did before it started to-

Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san 1

Delicious Namori end card is delicious, even if it does basically turn Nekoyama-san into Yui. I kind of wish the whole show used these character designs over the vaguely awkward-looking ones we actually got.

The episode itself was pretty fun for a three-and-a-half-minute deal. Better fit for the length than, say, pupa, that's for sure =p
