The fact that HapCha (this is one shorthand that's just fun to say, haha) acknowledges this and even though you don't really see it, there's mention of ongoing attempts at takeover in other places and that there's actually other groups of PreCure defending these nations/territories, is nice to see. They can even use it in some other small ways such as Blue had to step out to meet up with one of the teams during this last weeks episode.
In the Sailor Moon manga the Dark Kingdom had global operations, but it got lost in the anime. On the other hand, sometimes it works out because the protagonists present themselves as a top priority target, so naturally the antagonists would be operating where the protags are.

Very happy with both of Baby Steps and Haikyuu, sport anime are in thrive right now, aw yiss.. I always have soft spot for them, even if most only repeating same formula.. they always deliver nice entertainment for me.

I'm gonna watch the supposed best sport show this season, Ping-Pong, later.. save the best for the last!

Coffin Princess 1

Surprised I enjoyed this as much as I did, not a big fan of characters who don't fully speak a language and talk in fragments/words but besides that the world and set up seems interesting and I like the dynamic of the brother and sister characters. They actually feel like a brother and a sister who work together would interact without any kind of creepy incest vibe but some good old fashion sibling snark.

It's anime and she was acting tsundere/kuudere. Chances are she'll turn all "oniiiiiiiiii-chan" later on at some point.

Good questions.

It's medium-length too, 13 mins. Such a cute voice.

I trust you BEAR.
In any case do yall know if Natsume's VA from My little monster got any more work yet?

The episode started so strong with that Koko/Nana interaction, it was funny and interesting, a bit exaggerated, but that's to be expected from this anime. What if we stay like that for the whole episode? NAAAAAAAAAAH LET'S GO BACK TO BANRI

BOO HOO MY PAST OMG I'M SO HURT LINDAAA HOLD MY HAND PEOPLE DON'T LIKE ME I'M NOT THE REAL BANRI OOOOH SHIT I DON'T REMEMBER WHAT IS THIS IS THAT MY MEMORY WHAT'S GOING ON GHOSTS?? OOOOOH I'M BANRI, I'M TADABANRI OBOBOBDFO HHGU

BANRI

DODGEBALL RULES OF NATURE

Please, please, PLEASE, die.

so aggravating but stick with it!

I love her, especially since she is like the only one wear thigh highs, she is super adorable too.

Oh god yes. I will never leave team Snow Black but she is the best possible argument to switch.

I'll give you the Kuudere but only in the sense that deep down she loves her brother as a brother, I'm going to cross fingers that their relationship will stay as a siblings/working one and not go into "oniiiiiii-chan" fetish levels. I'm fine with a brother and sister loving each other as family/siblings because that's normal for family to love each other, it's when they take it to the next level it becomes weird/creepy.

Nanana's Buried Treasure 1

Opening: Can't say I honestly like the song.
Ending: Not bad.

Normally, I would consider this guy to be a pretty good MC.

But that was before he shot down Manager-sans advances.

C'mon guy, why do you have to screw things up already?

Yes, the cute ghost girl and the adorable iincho are great so far. But she was an available Christmas cake for crying out loud!

Aside from that I thought it was a really solid first episode.

NOOOOOOO NO NO NO OH GOD NOOOOOOOOO

Golden Time 20, btw

WHY?????????

Here we go, I guess.

Let's take a look at the script for episode 21:

Yep, seems accurate.

I'm gonna fucking kill someone if
this fucking idiot ends up with Linda. All this drama around the ring just smells of breaking up before he gets the chance.

Hang in there! Do it for Koko.

I swear I'm trying.

This is the 3rd show I've seen this season with white liquids sprayed over a girl.

Another piece of shit. The action sequences have absolutely no redeeming qualities to them. The narrative is damn near non-existent. There's absolutely no reason for me to care about any of these characters. The OST is a mess. One of the female leads talks in broken sentences which grates on my nerves every time she opens her damn mouth. Why the fuck should I continue watching this show? At least Black Bullet had some dark undertones to it, which sorta (not really) showed potential.

This season has had some real clunkers. Good fucking god.

Ryuugajou Nanana no Maizoukin 1

Well, so far this feels like exactly what I expected/hoped it would be, namely a fun show with lots of energy, some cute girls, and a sense of adventure.

Nanana is basically impossible to dislike, the landlord woman is both surprisingly entertaining and surprisingly attractive (speaking as someone who's generally not a fan of her character type at all), and the two girls glimpsed at the end of the episode seem certain to be outrageously best. Oh, and the MC is pretty decent too as far as generic LN male protagonists go - he does at least have a relatively assertive personality rather than being a passive pushover.

Looking forward to seeing what kind of outrageous treasures wind up getting uncovered.

yeah its REALLY annoying. I wanted Banri to just fod.

she doesnt look very happy.

She is top tier best girl out of most best girls, she isnt even afraid to say she loves her man.

She really is. I have three figures of her for a reason. She is definite waifu material.

Don't expect that to last, sadly -- his sister is in love with him of course. They cut some of that out of the first episode, since the opening bit in their house (when she forces him to stop being a shutin and go out there and work) was cut and it starts with him in the forest... but there was a hint of it in the restaurant scene.
To be specific, she's yandere for him.
This genre is entirely unable to depict plausible human relationships, and unfortunately this show is no exception.

Oh... and of course,
his sister is not blood related, apparently.

It's anime and she was acting tsundere/kuudere. Chances are she'll turn all "oniiiiiiiiii-chan" later on at some point.
Close... but not quite.
Yandere is the correct answer.

Harem animes almost never do that, though. They always have to go for the moronic nonsense of idiotic incest stuff. Other anime genres have incest too sometimes, but it's probably worst in harem... and maybe also some shoujo, I don't know. :p Why Japan has such an incest obsession I have no idea, other than the usual theory that it's in part because so few of them have actual siblings (super low birthrate, etc.) so they don't know what it's like.

AIR 13 SUMMARY END

Nothing to say about this episode. Just a re-cap clip show.

Overall, it was an okay ride. It's not the prettiest thing out there, nor the best put together and reeks of KEY's worst tropes and flaws, but it's not horrible. Jun Maeda's music is always pretty good. While I can't say I'm a huge fan of his writing, I due like his music; he knows how to write bittersweet music and (for the most part) bittersweet, thought cliched, stories. Also, Yukito made for a interesting protagonist (poor snarky hobo isn't exactly common fare)...at least initially. Basically, uou've got the standard "Hey this came from a VN so we have squeeze the other routes in!" stuff and then, following suit, falls in the 'main' route, wherein Yukito suddenly takes a backseat and the heroine Misuzu is suddenly the protag, and well, they try to finish but the ending a bit of a let down, to be honest. Things feel resolved...and yet they don't. I don't know.

Anyways, while not bad and though I'm a sap for bittersweet love stories, the end was just too much of a mess.

Next up: the two-episode Air in Summer specials and maybe the Air movie

Angel Beats! 13 END

Pretty satisfying ending, aside from not getting to say goodbye to the rest of the team, which is kinda dumb. You build up this whole cast of colorful characters that are infinitely more interesting than Otonashi and Kanade and you just go "Oh those guys? Yeah they left already." and just give their signature items the sad passing shot? Man, fuck you, Maeda.

Anyways, it was good to see the goodbyes. The emptiness left by the remaining cast as they each took their turns passing on was almost palpable. That where this show shined and where it should've kept it light. I think this show would've been so much better off to just focus more on the characters - who they are, why they're here, give them resolution, and watch the pass on - and basically scrap the whole commando crap. I'll admit the action and the humor were pretty good at times, but overall it felt like they wanted me to care what happens to them in the fights and struggles, and it would've made more sense to structure that around their emotional passing on rather than the fights where you're not worried about anyone because they can't fucking die.

But all in all, I got more out of this than Air, to be sure, and it too isn't that bad of a ride. It looks pretty damn great, the cast is fun, the dub is good, and the music is top notch (as I expect from Maeda), but the writing at times is suspect (as I expect from Maeda).

Next up: The Another Epilogue OVA and the Stairway to Heaven OVA
What do you think of the radically different endings to these two great shows? I mean, Air has the most depressing ending of any Key anime; it's the only one, I think, which really does end really sadly. Angel Beats almost does... but that last scene in episode 13 gives it a clear resolution. Some (misguided) people dislike that scene and think it should have ended with the ambiguous moment before that, but I completely disagree! I loved Angel Beats' ending, and I think that it really is one of the keys to why I loved the show overall. I was really worried about how it would end... but they ended it the right way. It made for a great, satisfying ending to a show I loved. On the other hand, Air's tragic ending was one of the reasons why I didn't like it nearly as much as Kanon. Yeah, I like happy endings better.

Angel Beats!: Another Epilogue OVA

I can't say if I like this ending over the other. I suppose they could eventually be one and the same, with this preceding the real end, and this ending would no doubt fit better with
Otonashi's change of heart to stay at in limbo
at the end of the show. Possible
hinting a new team though? I'd be down if they ever got around to it
.

Angel Beats!: Stairway to Heaven OVA

Pretty hilarious bonus episode, though the tension meter was a stupid gag. Good to see the whole gang again.

Air in Summer 1

Jumping back to
Ancient Japan
. A few reused clips but more expansion on that arc and some of the characters we only got a short time to see. Actually pretty enjoyable. I'm a fan of Jay Hickman as a voice actor, he does a great job. Pairing him as the
ancestor of Vic Mignogna's character
was a smart choice.

Air in Summer 2

Dang, really going for that moe fan-service huh? Anyways, still pretty enjoyable. These three were some of the best characters in the show. Kinda makes me wish the show was actually set there and not
in the modern setting.
Air in Summer is so ridiculously depressing... the Angel Beats OVAs are great, though.

The Vision of Escaflowne 1-14

Oh come on !
How long is that dick Dilandau going to get away with it.
Nothing quite like choral music to make a fight epic.

The show was decent throughout but really picked up these past few episodes. Thankfully the writers seem to have abandoned the Hitomi x Gourry clone love affair, at least for now. The cat lady stopped being annoying too.

Though all my FMA predictions came to naught, I'd venture to say that
Allen's mysterious father is the Zaibach's emperor. Growing up without a father must run in the family.
Escaflowne is one of the great anime series, and it's a really interesting experiment that you still don't see much of -- how many shows are BOTH shoujo drama and shonen mecha action? And yet Escaflowne manages to pull off both really well. Of course that incredible soundtrack helps too...

Wait what's the 1st show (or 2nd) I just watched

Black Bullet 1

Well that was fun though it laid on the harem thing a bit much, between the loli waifu who horribly wants the D and the childhood friend boss tsundere who also clearly wants the D AND the older scientist lady who probably wants the D I almost forgot this is supposed to be a dark and grim series. It also had a scene of a loli getting white stuff all over her

So my question is what's the last show so I can watch it next and get some jack pot of loli getting white stuff on her <_<

Sadder then Clannad After Story. Bro come on.

Other than that you're right about everything else.

... Well as long as she's a Yandere sibling I guess that's okay, and of course them not actually being related it super obvious in hind sight, of course I am truly of the belief that whenever a Japanese series says "they're not REALLY siblings" it's more of a *wink wink* to get past the censors and that in the authors mind they are.

And I guess the easy appeal of incest relationships is the obvious forbidden love angle, it's basically Romen and Juliet in a way a modern otaku can understand. Forbidden love stories have always been popular, you can take 90% of the dialogue from any incest story just cutting out the few "onii chan/we're siblings" and replacing it with some other contrived reason why two characters can't be together and it'd play out virtually the same.

Watched it when it was airing. I actually sorta liked it in a weird sort of way.

I liked it in the most american way. Still one of my favorite Bones show. Because it's so old school with its villains it's hilarious.

Evil Alien henchman: Your supremeness we just discovered a planet that's ages away that would take us forever to get to.

Evil Alien Leader: We shall now focus on destroying this planet. Because reasons.

I'll definitely give it that's definitely not a happy ending, but I'm more dissatisfied without how it feels unresolved. I guess I tend to like happier endings too (though I mean what work really has a purely sad ending? There's not a lot of them.) and I could've accepted Air's end if it was handled better. I guess, if anything, I'm not a fan of murky ends.
