Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 6: Final Destination confirmed for not fun

Didn't people argue semantics and the real meaning of Lucas' reveal saying "Up until now" and take it as a Ness cut? People were legitimately convinced from what i remember.

I really feel that this is going to one those times.

Main character syndrome is powerful stuff. Like seriously, I really don't even know why Chrom or Lucina are as popular as they are besides being the main characters of the Fire Emblem that "saved the franchise".

I do not think that Ganon is the reincarnation of Demise.

Demise says:

Ganon is an incarnation of Demise's hatred, not Demise himself. Whether there's literally a magical cloud of hatred incarnating itself or he meant it figuratively is unknown.

Cynthia is my favorite character in FE:A, but Lucina has her charm of having a completely single-minded focus that is easily distracted in arbitrary support convos.

Anyway, Lucy actually has somewhat of a shot and Cynthia doesn't. So I'll cross my fingers for Lucina. It's sure better than the cipher choice of Robin.

Eh personally only a few gen 1 mons are greatly designed. A lot are designed with a limitation of the system.
 
Do people really want popular, well-known characters for the new additions? Keep 'em popular characters for the veterans, I'd rather have more surprises like WFT, Rockman, Non-specific Action Figure, and Greninja.
 
If Pyrosphere boss Ridley was in a pic of the day, the caption would read something like this: "Pic of the day: The Metroid Other M incarnation of Ridley is a boss character! There have been many incarnations of Ridley. Just how many clones of this guy are there?!?!"

The problem with many of those alts, is that they change body characteristics of the characters. Funky Kong, for example, is taller and overall bigger than Diddy. The same for X in the case of Megaman, as he's much taller than him(we can see that in Megaman's Final Smash). When Sakurai announced the Male Wii Fit Trainer, he was very specific in saying that both characters had the same height/strenght, and I believe this is a rule he's gonna keep if he adds alts for other characters.

The only kinds of alts I can see happening are clothes or cases when the alternate character have an extremely similar build to the original character (like Dixie and Diddy for example). I'd love to be wrong though, because I really, really want to play as X.

Also, for Isaac, there's old Isaac :)

My statement is that both interpretations are/could be true, and related it to what happened to Hylia/Zelda. That's all.

Also it's kinda hard not to interpret it that way, seeing the strong resemblance and voice acting.
 
While I do want Ridley to be playable and would totally buy the "when you select Ridley, Metal Ridley is the boss instead" I just don't see that happening. Unless player character Ridley is a lot smaller and designed differently from boss Ridley it'd be pretty jarring to have an extra player sized character running around.

Speaking of bosses do you think we'll get a version of Final Destination where master/crazy hand can show up as bosses?

Megaman was easily the most heavily demanded character for Smash 4 before his announcement.

Depends. Pokemon Cynthia is arguably the ardest champion, but as a character I dont really care. FE cynthia I like, but shes not among my favorites and sometimes I find her to be too hyper and annoying

I completely realize the irony in that complaint

Now lets add a sakurai twist. Sakurai: When arthur takes too much damage, his armor falls off making him lighter but also twice as fast.

But greninja is the chosen gen 6 rep by virtue of being the most powerful and popular starter of the new generation. Its just that out of our past pokemon reps, most characters were chosen more for anime related reasons than video game ones, so a 100 percent game-driven choice from a new gen seemed unlikely.

Also, wii fit trainer's game outsold everything in smash so far except some mario titles, so she is rather well-known. In hindsight, given stuff like game&watch and rob, idk why we were surprised.

Except Rob has appeared in Mario Kart and is a robot, AND Mr G&W could clearly draw from a wide variety of moves from the various G&W games. I'm not saying either was an OBVIOUS pick, but they certainly made more sense then WFT who is literally just a yoga instructor teaching real life yoga and not video game magic yoga

In all honesty, if we get another Capcom character, I rather it be Phoenix Wright.
 
I'm looovin' Bowser's revamped move-set. He looks faster! Dunno about you guys, but it seems like a lot of his moves maybe were changed so a newcomer could have them? Hmm... Maybe not.

Third party characters should be something special, not something that's cool but run of the mill

That's why Sonic and Mega Man are the perfect choices. They're iconic characters from the classic era. They're not just third party characters that have had a couple of recent hit games.
