Point n Click Adventure GAF 2014 No longer in our dreams, memories or just Germany.

Cross posting from the gog thread - Presto have announced that The Journeyman Project : Pegasus Prime will [finally] be coming to GOG on the 10th.

Day one for me, I've been holding back on playing 2 & 3 until I could finally play the all-singing all-dancing version of the original

On steam Broken Sword 5 is 50% off for the next 48 hours. So it's $12.49. Time to get it! He says chapter 2 is coming soon so probably a good time for anyone not already on the bandwagon.

Hmm, oh why the hell not. I tried to play The Pandora Directive, but the 3G segments and the bad acting are making it difficult to get into.

Played Erica Reed and man the models animation is so weak XD.
Good story and characters so far, still in the beginning of Episode 1.

Unfortunately the game's framerate is all over the place. Often times it's 30 FPS and sometimes it goes up t 60 the back to 30. Anyone know a fix for this?

It really seems like it will be lengthy. There is a lot of meat to the gameplay. Reminds me of a Frogwares Sherlock Holmes game. Good mini-game systems that help pad out the classic point and click gameplay. I don't think any Jane Jensen fan will be disappointed so long as they can be lenient on the technical quality of the game.

How is the voice acting? I'm playing Gray Matter now and eh... really not keen on Sam's acting. It doesn't sound natural to me. Hoping it's better in Moebius.

Oh boy, the first scene of Broken Sword 5 had a field full of round hay bales at least 20 years (but in practice lot more) too early. Hopefully the rest of the game is a bit more historically accurate. Still, the graphics are at least good looking, and have similar style to the first two games of the series.

I think Assassin's Creed games are more historically accurate than Broken Sword ones, you don't play them for history lessons though

A little help with Erica Reed Ep. 1 please
Got to the part where Rose teaches me to create a vision using 3 stuff on a screen.
I returned to the crime scene what should I do there? I got the box of donuts from Rose and Davies isn't back yet.

It was nice that they acknowledged in AC4 that some of the buildings you climb up haven't actually been built yet at that time, and they just added them because the looked cool.

Anyway, played a bit more BS5. The game is gorgeous, and everything reminds me of BS1. Which is nice. I much preferred 1 to 2, and haven't played the other ones in the series.

i was pleasantly surprised at how well a point and click game works on tablets with it's touch interface.

I played shadow run on pc and tablet, and I enjoyed the touch controls more, it just felt right, and very convenient to play that way using touch controls. It was really enjoyable for me.

I didn't really care much for click and point games besides baulders gates and diablo, but now im more interested in them if they are on tablets.

I wonder if a real time battle game like diablo would even work on tablets. Probably not.

I gave up and tried it.
Looks like it will be pretty good, the premises are excellent. Will buy it as soon as it gets on GOG.

...OH FUCK I FORGOT ABOUT BLACKWELL!
How many days is the pre-order gonna be up for? Gonna buy it when get back home...assuming I don't forget >_>;

Finished Ep. 1 of Erica Reed, the thing I dislike the most about is probably the control/gameplay mechanics, but everything else is good. Well OK the graphics are passable at best.

I'd guess through the weekend at least. It's still up on Wadjet Eye's site as of this post. Comes with a bunch of nice bonuses and a Steam key.

OK grabbed Blackwell, now to finish up Ep. 2 of Erica Reed and see how far I can get into the remaining eps. while double timing Moebius on the side.

Need to remember to grab the new Tex Murphy off Steam too.

If playfire offers GMG cash rewards, I'll save them all up for Murdered Soul Suspect *o*

Finished Ep. 2 of Erica Reed
Yeah def. someone knows about Erica's ability and is messing with her

*downloading Moebius*

Man, a bunch of Kickstarter P'nC games are arriving in close succession. Not complaining!

Is it only for backers? I'd like to preload it soon too!

Yes, the link I got is for backers only. It's not that big of a file (1.3Gb), so even if you can't pre-load it, it shouldn't take long for you to start playing when it's out ;)

Luckily I have 10 days off (3-4 of which I'll be abroad). All things considered, I can finish up Erica Reed while playing this. Double the Jane Jensen goodness X3

Was recently on GOG.com, was wondering what everyone thought of Police Quest? Is it worth checking out? Never played it before...

I played Police Quest 2 back in the day on Atari ST, and it was brutal. Forget to calibrate your gun earlier in the game? You die. Walk into showers with your clothes on? You die. Etc.

Well looks to me that its best to steer clear of the Police Quests then..

Yeah I remember all of them (except maybe PQ4) being ridiculously unforgiving but I have fond memories of watching my dad play through PQ3: The Kindred. I thought the story and atmosphere were riveting but then again I was a kid. Might be worth a shot if you're using a guide.

Well, you also get sudden deaths in Space Quests and Leisuresuit Larrys, but for some reason it was worse in Police Quest. Maybe because it was trying to be realistic... of course if you don't mind dying often the game can be really good even.

And Machinarium! But yeah, those are probably the best adventure games in ages.

Blackwell is especially good to buy since the final game in the series is releasing on the 24th.

Yeah, and this is a crazy month for p&c's. released this month:

Journeyman Project : Pegasus Prime
Moebius
Blackwell Epiphany
Tex Murphy : Tesla Effect
and possibly broken sword 5 part 2 (unlikely though)

Epiphany & Tesla Effect in particular I'm super hyped for. Playing Journeyman at the moment. Lotta death scenes, but it starts you back off fairly close to where you died so it's fair

Fuck I just realized...
After Erica Reed and Moebius I should go back and finish up The Cave and The Raven, while playing Tex Murphy.
After that I'll start the Blackwell games and hopefully by then Playfire is giving rewards for the last Blackwell game @o@ (I THINK I got the Blackwell games on gog.com...)

They are fantastic games. As a rule I saved every time I change scenes (screens) in older Sierra games. It's quick and you can never really be surprised by deaths. I would highly suggest to not skip any of the Sierra games, period. They all have so much to offer and do some fantastic things.

Also csnt fucking wait to download and start Moebius later. Finally!

Six months ago or so maybe? It was something kickstarter backers could try last year. More like a demo really, you played through a largish scene with about 5 or 6 locations.

Great time to be an adventure gamer.

Hope you all enjoy the bounty of adventures coming our way these next couple months, fellow point-and-clickers. :)

Just finished part 1 of Broken Sword 5. Well... that was really good actually. The characters, dialogue and plot were all solid. I liked how you never really knew who was telling the truth and who was lying. The only thing that was annoying was how over the top incompetent the police were.

Looks like Moebius had an early release for backers. I'm still not a fan of Phoenix Online's character models or animation. I guess you could point to the relatively modest budget but it still doesn't look very good.

Aside from that, I think I love the music! The dialogue is good (which is strangely uncommon in this genre) and there's all sorts of incidental descriptive dialogue (GO TO HELL, BROKEN AGE)!

It's way to early to say if it's a great game or anything but it's enjoyable so far.

Yeah, got my key but I opted for the steam key so gotta wait until tomorrow to check it out. Excited!! :)

You really can't go wrong with Robert Holmes, he's so damn talented!
