Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 6: Final Destination confirmed for not fun

I wish the |OT| could have a picture, because it'd be sakurai's hands around the OT

My dream E3 trailer:

- Epic CG portion
- Showing new mechanics and modes
- Online For Glory mode adds platforms
- Couple reveals we expect
- Snake comes out of a box, with Hayter's voice
kept you waiting, huh?

Prediction: at e3 they announce the game will be released on 3DS the following Sunday

They'll announce the release at E3 for sure, Though I predict late July through end of august.

I have a name. :(

Be flatter that your quote will be used for final daily image thread before OT thread release.

Already a new thread? You people never stop posting.

You too. :(

IntelliHeath has found a new master.
Oh well, you're either a fan of Smash or
an huge one :p

I think he just want to spam too much so he can be number 1 in term of most posted member since he is one that counted the posts between many threads.

Is it fair to say that Nintendo is synonymizing "winter" and "holiday"?

In the Smash Bros direct, Nintendo revealed that the Wii U version would be coming in "Winter 2014", but the first day of winter isn't until December 21st.

I honestly feel that this game will be released sometime between mid October and mid November.

#NoStageHazards

That would be the best.

One small step at a time! I think implementing the same 3 platforms on the final destination version of stages is easier to do (code-wise, regression-testing-wise, balance-wise) than to remove ONLY stage hazards/bosses from existing stages. I'd *LOVE* to have that, but I think with the time they have left (for Wii U at least), we should ask for something smaller, like battlefield mode for each stage, in adition to final destination mode.

I don't mind relatively small passive stage hazards (like the boxes from Green Greens in Melee), but I really, REALLY don't like the concept of bosses spawning during the middle of a fight.

It's disruptive and changes the entire dynamic of the game. Maybe some are looking forward to it, but I really hope the amount of stages that feature bosses is kept to a minimum.

The problem with "no hazards" is that many stages in smash have walk off edges which competitive smash dislikes due to chain grabs. And certain moving stages will never work competitively. Easier to just go " everything is fd" then try and predict which of the games various stages would be considered fair by competitive smash.

Besides competivie smash players will just friend each other and play with custom rules on stages they want to while for glory is for people who want a quick fix against randoms and don't like items/randomness

That leak has hardly been confirmed yet.
If it's the same guy as before, the guy who confirmed Villager (despite Sakurai saying otherwise) and Wii Fit Trainer (despite no one guessing WFT) and Mega Man (despite everyone thinking he was no longer relevant enough), all right before E3, and who also said Little Mac was coming... If it's the same guy, I think it has a good chance of panning out.

Just because you're right the first time doesn't mean you'll be right the next time.
Especially on GAF, you should know this.

That's not what Winter means, unfortunately.

Someone pulled up nintendo press releases from last year in the original date thread. There were games they referred to as "winter 2013" releases that were released in october and november 2013. I think one was some version of wii fit u.

WFU did release on the eShop in October/November but the physical release wasn't until December/January.

no, that was "holiday 2013", "winter 2013" was either December or the following year (for physical releases)

The guy who leaked isn't on GAF. He tipped off the guy who runs Gematsu, who then wrote it here. Regardless, it's virtually impossible the tipster was making a lucky guess. The guy has inside information.

I know you like to invert what everyone says, Prodigy, but I wouldn't bother trying to argue that the leak was anything less than uncanny.

Holy crap, I just leaked some shit from my ass, here's what it tells me:

Chibi-Robo
Sora and Geno tag team
Birdo sprite
Tommy Pickles

We also know so little about the leaker that there's no confirmation that he was the same person, that the information is at all accurate (i.e. it could be a controlled leak to try and catch whoever revealed the first one, if it proves to be accurate), or (if your tinfoil hat's on really tight) if there even was a second leak.

The first leak has been uncannily accurate and it would be unlikely for it not to be leaked information, but let's not act like the second wave of this is immediately accurate when the first one has yet to be totally confirmed.

what?
no thanks, you can keep that title :P

No, please take my place. I'm proud enough right now.

Yes, but what if he decided to troll the fans by lying about 2nd batch of newcomers (not that I want it to happens but I'm concerned tho)

That's not what Winter means, unfortunately.

Well, there are only about 10 official days of winter in 2014.

If Nintendo truly means "Winter 2014", then they're either releasing the game just a few days before Christmas, or after Christmas. I can't think of the last time an AAA game released after Christmas, but before the start of the next year.

That's possible. I'm just saying that if it's from the same source and that source hasn't decided to troll us, I trust the information has a good chance of panning out because it did the first time.

Waluigi and Ridley have been forcibly fused into Palutena as a 2 headed, 5 armed gestalt with a tail, wielding a tennis racket, staff and Ridley's head.

I'm expecting February next year tbh lol, with Brawl's track record and the vague "Winter" release window I'm honestly not getting my hopes up for a release this year. Hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised

Hopefully Mario Kart keeps the Wii U afloat for that long

Maybe it's Winter of Fiscal Year '14.

I really don't think the Direct is speaking in terms of fiscal years. The Direct was for the fans and was scripted in laymen's terms. It's probably not so precise as to reflect the literal calendar winter, either. It probably just means "holiday season." In other words, late November to mid-December.
