Well.... I have a lot to catch up on. And I'm a man with a singular mission.
That's actually better IMO. Build the hype train, he wouldn't be doing this if he wasn't planning on one of those people being in/changed, look at Waluigi. If he had no plans he would kill the hype train early to get rid of the negative stigma for making people wait for any sort of answer.
I would think that was exactly what he was doing with the stage boss tease. That people don't want to believe it isn't his fault or problem.
We also don't know what role Ridley will have in Smash 4. There was the boss "tease", but that very much looked like a tease that he might be playable. It could really go either way. I think people should stop being mad that he's not playable until we have 100% confirmation that he isn't.
He's not. Nothing about that says "j/k, he's playable" in anyone other than those grasping for any straw they can get their hands on.
Ridley fans on that permanent bargaining phase.
Hardly, most of them are still in the denial phase, if anything.
I heard someone suggest that the ridley Sage hazard was not done and that's the reasion he did not show him, But should sakurai and his team be past that stage at this point?
You'll notice that stage bosses have only been shown for the Wii U version, which is releasing significantly later than the 3DS version. It tells me that stage bosses are also a Wii U exclusive feature, likely due to 3DS hardware limitations.
The main oddity with Ridley's treatment is that this can't even be a case of mismatched expectations. Teasing a Ridley boss battle like it were going to be a big reveal is nonsense, considering how Brawl already had two Ridley boss fights, so it's not even something new. This isn't a case where he might think that he's doing some big fanservice by making Ridley a boss.
No, I think it's "this isn't ready, but I need to release this to put Ridley fans out of their misery once and for all", which said fans extrapolated into some fantasy existence where it confirms the EXACT OPPOSITE.
Assuming he's not playable that wouldn't be building hype... but building ardent rage.
Another reason why Sakurai would be mad for showing him as a boss and not make him playable.
After all it's not like he doesn't follow the Smash community, as shown by the Palutena leak nods, the adjustments made to many mechanics, the removal of tripping and the new FD for all stages mode. He knows many in the west want Ridley, he wouldn't shit on them so badly, if he had to deconfirm him, he would've done so quickly, just as he did with Waluigi.
I mean stage hazard Ridley was hinted at in September!!! Yet he has still to show him. There's gotta be a reason, or else he wouldn't have hinted at him so many months ago. There are no precedents for this kind of behaviour, as far as Sakurai is concerned.
Because the game's several months from being finished with the 3DS version getting obvious priority over a Wii U exclusive stage boss feature that isn't done?
It's really simple, people are making it this complex web of lies when there are none. This isn't a Palutena situation.
The biggest tragedy with the Metroid series is that the bestest locales are always snubbed for "have some more liquid that burns you, guys!"
No kidding. They had 2 attempts at a Brinstar stage, but NO JUNGLE. Load of bullshit, if you ask me.
I hope if Chrom makes it into the game, he'll get his DLC look as alt:
I suddenly REALLY want Chrom in Smash Bros. now. Ike, you are hereby dismissed.
Not enough sexualization of men imo. My Smash needs more bulges and firm butts.
Probably the only reason some people want to keep Snake in Smash.
Makes me laugh every single time.
