So Home Alone is still legal. Sweet.
Can't say I feel sad for the kids, that's the life they chose. You keep this life and you end up dead or in prison. The old man is 65 years old, of course he doesn't give any fucks, he already lived his life.
Yep. You gambled and lost, kids. Can't say I feel sad for the kids, that's the life they chose. You keep this life and you end up dead or in prison. The old man is 65 years old, of course he doesn't give any fucks, he already lived his life.
The moral of the story is don't break into someone's house.
How does it not? A trap is a trap, but I suppose that could just be my interpretation of it. The act was premeditated, in both cases.
The point still stands. The Courts have always valued human life above the protection of property. Deadly force can only be used in appropriate increments; the teens were unarmed and posed no threat, he had no right to shoot them after they had already been injured.
You got me, Mr. Swag. Haha!Is human life really that worthless to some of you?
goddamnit, then there's this guy two posts up with a gun as an avatar.
really man? Guns are so cool to you that you have to put it next to every single one of your posts?

the moral of the story is: if your house ends up getting broken into, don't be a fcuking asshole and "put someone out of their misery". Wait for the cops to come. Fuck castle laws

What's wrong with that?
You have no idea what my avatar means or represents. The fact is I've never touched a firearm in my entire life. Take your rhetoric elsewhere.tools who's only purpose is murder should not be idolized the way they currently are. If anything, they should be outlawed. They make life a lot more fragile than it should be. One small irreversible movement of an index finger should not be a able to end a life.

A statement like that allows for a lot of leeway in interpretation, though, which isn't something that is reflected in the legislature. Having someone break into your home doesn't transform your house into a war zone where anything is permitted. I don't know if I can agree with "deserved", either, depending on how you would qualify "anything".Uh, the home owner could have been killed in an alternate scenario. When you break into someone's home you deserve everything coming to you. It's disgusting. I don't think it's right what he did but if it's the home owner versus the burglar I'd side with the home owner every time.
Trigger happy, old, white trash piece of shit.if he had shot them and randomly hit them in the head, I'd actually defend him, but to do what he did is murder.

What I never understood is why people are up in arms about marijuana, when meds can be just as bad and addictive.
Exactly.See this is the problem. Burglar's NEVER deserve to be killed. That being said, I think a home owner has every right to defend themselves. The burglar's death will be tragic, but in the end, it is a tragedy that they caused by their own actions. This guy was totally within his rights until he "finished them off". He had a right to shoot (even to shoot to kill), but once these two burglars were incapacitated he no longer had any right to do them further harm, and any decent human being would have called the police.

Well he shot her and apparently she was going to die a slow agonizing death so he gave it a killshot. The problem is not really the efficiency of his gun shots or that he prepared himself for a breaking, is that he found enjoyment in it.
Thing is, what's so wrong with being a victim of theft?
sure you're shit gets stolen, but at the end of the day, you did nothing wrong. Let the bad people do the bad things, and then have the professionals (the police) handle the dealing out of punishment. You're insurance will help you recoup financial losses, and you will be the same person you were before.
now, if you decide to murder the intruder, you get the chance to say you're a killer!! Yay. Then, you have to go to court and defend yourself, and stare into the face of the murder victims family. But at least your shit doesn't get stolen.
I just don't understand how shit > life to some people.
law breaking life is still life.
As I understand it, a lot of people become super paranoid/lose a sense of security after their house is broken into. If someone could so easily break into your house, what would stop them from killing you?
Poor guy. Didn't deserve the murder charges.
Poor guy. Didn't deserve the murder charges.
Setting a trap so that you can shoot intruders is fucked up, period. The sane thing would be to set cameras around your house to identify the intruders, then actually leave the house to catch them on tape. Show that to the police once you ahve evidence, and make them answer to the law.
Dude is a sick fuck who deserves to be jailed for a long time.
Thats the thinking of a man who believes other people are animals, not human beings.
A Theft and a Burglary are different, a good comparison would be someone stealing your purse and running away as opposed to a mugging. I don't live in Minnesota but in here, most burglaries are armed and usually end in rape/murder if the victim happened to be home at the time.
There's also the psychological damage lf not feeling safe in your own home, knowing that anytime strangers can enter, steal your stuff and cause you harm. I'll personally be very afraid if it happened to me.
You break into someone's home and I feel no remorse for WHATEVER happens to you. Sorry.
Poor guy. Didn't deserve the murder charges.

Hey man, she was on his property. Once you set foot on another man's property, your life is forfeit. Its the most sacred thing.
I'm pretty sure that is the three words uttered anytime an intruder breaks into someone's home that has a gun. Home invaders are right under murderer's and rapists for me. Don't feel sorry for them at all.
what insurance helps you recoup homeowner property lost?
Sometimes this country is seriously fucked up. It's like "hey everyone, guns are easy to obtain and totally legal so get armed". Then when people shoot each other over property crime it's like "well people have guns, so the fear of violence compelled them to kill another human being". And then you try to argue that maybe we shouldn't have so many guns and it's like "if you take away the guns from the good guys, then only the bad guys have guns!"
How do you fix that?
Take away peoples guns and they will just kill each other with knives.
Take away knives and people will grab a rock and beat someone to death.
Try and take away all the rocks and people will just learn karate and kill each other with their hands and feet.
Cut off everyones arms and you will have people kicking someones head in to death.
Taking away guns would do nothing. Crime will happen. There will always be fucked up people in the world who wish to do harm on another person and they will use whatever means at their disposal to inflict that harm.
The moral of the story is don't break into someone's house.
