I hope that I am since Sterling besides being a racist asshole has been a shit owner for the majority of his ownership. But I seriously doubt that the NBA will somehow force Sterling to sell the team since that opens up every owner to the same fate and I doubt any of them agreed to something that would reduce their power.
 
It really just matters how big of a deal the NBA's partners make of it (Disney, Turner being the big two), and how much they push the story on ESPN (owned by Disney). Him being a big racist scumbag is not new news, but having it on tape is.

Doubt the NBA can actually remove him from his ownership position. Most likely just a hefty fine or something.

I've always heard he was a racist, but it's a little startling to outright hear it on the tape.

What can the NBA really do? Adam Silver works for him. It would take all of the rest of the owners pushing to run him out, but I wonder if they will have the balls to do that. They will probably just give him some meaningless fine, something like $100,000 which he will make up with the revenue from a single playoff game. The real game changer would have been if the Clipper players boycotted a playoff game.

If they fined him 1 million dollars it would still be meaningless, anything other then shipping him out is pointless.

She's the biggest disappointment in this whole debacle. She literally apologized for HIM being a racist. In a non-sarcastic manner. She's spineless...

Pretty much. Riley Cooper was only fined 37K, 1 game check for being videotaped saying "I'll fight every nigger here". Two Denver Broncos executives were suspended for one month without pay after being charged for a DUI while the NFL has not done the same with Colts owner JIm Irsay who has was charged with four counts of felony drug possession and one misdemeanor count of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. While that is the NFL its not too different from how the NBA operates.

Chris Paul is the goddamn leader of the Player's Union. It'll be interesting to see how he handles this. He's got to set an example, no? It'll be pretty shameful if he keeps his mouth shut about it or hides behind Doc Rivers' statement.

CP already made a statement that that they will address it aggressively but that is very vague and I'm not sure what the players can do. If the Clipper players sat out the game then the commish or possibly the owner would fine the players due to conduct detrimental to the team/league. On the other hand the media would rally behind the players/coaches and turn this into a an even bigger shitstorm if the players where fined/suspended. It be interesting that's for sure.

In a year or two the NAACP will award him for all the marvelous work he has done and the incredible turn around he has had.

Their lives are focused on winning, why should they stop trying because their owner is a shitbag? Might not be contained in those tweets but doc condemned what Sterling said.

Boycotting a playoff game might be asking for too much, but if this offseason you don't see Clipper players and potential free agents take a "him or us" attitude towards the organization I will be disappointed. Imagine the waves made if CP3 and/or Blake demand trades if Sterling doesn't step down and start the process of selling the team?

Why not take it a step further and call for every player to boycott? After all, they're all a part of the same league that DTS is such a prominent part of.

Stahp. Not sure why some are so determined to get the players to give up a playoff game. That would be beyond precedent. Adam silver needs to handle this.
