Not to pick on you and others who keep saying this shit, but I think it needs to be pointed out how warped and ignorant many people are on what racism is. This mentality that you can't be racist if you associate with blacks or hire them (or have black friends) is simplistic, and highlights how views on race have shifted over the last few decades.
Sterling isn't banning black players from playing on his team or burning crosses in black people's houses, therefore he isn't racist in the eyes of many people. Or in the case of this post: Sterling is racist yet pays black people millions of dollars, therefore there is "cognitive dissonance." That's simply not what's going on here. Sterling sells a product, and black people help him sell it; they make him millions of dollars every year. He can be racist while still profiting off the people he dislikes. People are complex, race is complex, and racism is complex. It's not "I hate all black people and will never shake their hand or associate with them." Not even the KKK worked like that for the most part.
