US PSN: Golden Week Sale Celebrates Japanese Games

Question for those who have played Atelier Totori Plus. Should I use a guide for it? I've heard there are multiple ending to it and I don't really want to waste my time getting a bad one. Or is it like some super obvious choice that'll determine the ending and I should just go in blind?

don't bother using a guide then. I can guarantee you can get the normal ending at the bare minimum. Maybe even a couple character endings.

You have to force yourself to fail to even get the bad ending. I'm assuming your time management skills aren't complete ass.

literally every VA in P4 has been in an Atelier game, with JYB voicing no fewer than a dozen different characters across the series :p
But not in the Vita ones =(
It's kind of shocking to see these prices when you are so used to Steam sales.
Wow.
In a good way? Hell, I think I like the PS+ Sales better. If only for completely insane reasons. Because I have to put down more money than 75¢ or something insane, I actually have to play my games. But that's a stupid reason. The better reason is, it stops the market from going Race To The Bottom Mode. As far as I can tell, PS+ Sales have a strict 75% off limit. Nothing below that is allowed except for Flash Sales. It encourages purchasing if the consumer knows the product is 75% off now and it won't be 90% off later. And it encourages price drops so that the games can be put on sale for lower prices. The value of a console game will rarely go below $3.75. And I'm fine with that. The more money devs make the more games they can make.
I appreciate a good dub, but if original jp audio is an option i'll always choose that.
Fair enough. The way I pick is if there are 2+ English actors I admire I go dub. If otherwise, sub.

EVERYONE SHOULD BUY Ys.

I'm going to buy Persona 4 and Atelier Meruru, even if I already played them on PS2/PS3.

I was going to buy Tales but 30fps... just no.

Awesome sale! Love Tales of Symphonia Chronicles! And for only $10 or $20 is a freaking steal! So many hours of unbelievably great content! Also, Persona 4 Golden is another tremendous buy here! Ys: Memories of Celceta is also a great buy! I treat Ys: Memories of Celceta like the Etrian of Vita, which is great praise, if you ask me.

This is a sale I like to see! I'm looking at Rain (been wanting to try it for quite a while now) and my love for JRPG's have been making me interested in trying one of the Ateliers on Vita, but not sure which one. I've never played an Atelier game before, so can anyone tell me which of the Vita ones would be best for me to get?

It's obviously not as good as the SNES version, but it's honestly not as bad as people make it out to be. I got all the endings on the ps1 version.

There's lengthy load times just to open the game menu. It isn't just a case of long loads between scenes or areas. In a game where you often open the menu, it makes it almost unplayable. It's absolutely awful. I wouldn't recommend this PS1 version under any circumstance.

Just to confirm about Hot Shots Golf, it's Cross-Buy and Cross-Play. So you get the vita and PS3 versions of the game.

Wait, what? Since when? The original announcement says the DLC is cross-buy, but doesn't mention the game itself being cross-buy. It also says saves don't carry over between platforms.

Ehhhhhhhh, I dunno about that. Totori was my second Atelier game and I managed to get the bad ending my first playthrough. Luckily for me, correcting it was a matter of reloading a save from a few months earlier in the game and working harder--I'd sort of slacked off on the midpoint goal and didn't realize the deadline was coming up for some reason (or thought I'd get more leeway or something).

Still, you don't need a guide. Just be wary of the main goals of the game and complete things earlier than you think you have to and you'll sail by just fine. Worst-case scenario, just keep a lot of saves around; I think I have something like 80 Totori saves on PS3 or something ridiculous, and with Escha & Logy I completely overran the 99-save limit.

I have a feeling Muramasa is still coming to US PS+ maybe next month. I don't think I'm gonna jump because I have so so so much to play. If Hot Shots were for Vita I'd jump on that ship hardcore though.

Weren't the games announced for next month already in NA? As far as I'm aware, Muramasa wasn't mentioned at all. I'd buy it, just to support Vanillaware.

How is ToS?

Though I already have xillia and graces f still unplayed.

Symphonia is pretty average. Not bad though. Chronicles is definitely the right price. Symphonia is worth about $20, and Dawn of the New World is worth about $ -10.

It's pretty much a last-resort tales though. You probably have the best of both worlds spread across two games, although Graces f has an infuriating story.

I've seen a lot of people talking about the performance of the PSN Chrono Trigger, but how about Chrono Cross? Does it still hold up well? I've played a couple of the PS1 games on my Vita like Final Fantasy VIII and I wasn't exactly crazy about it.

Chrono cross is probably the weakest next to ff8. Xenogears, parasite eve, brave fencer musashi, and vagrant story are way better. Cc has a good ost that's wasted on a crappy game.

Damn shame at the lack of Brave Fencer Musashi on the PSN store, that game is so great

I would buy it in a heartbeat

WELP just signed up for + for another 3 months. Those deals on Rain and MGS collection Vita are too good to pass up. Will probably buy ACV as well, just because.

Anyone want to convince me not to waste $7.50 on Muramasa?

Muramasa is a decent game,I enjoyed my time with the Wii version, but it's just a repetitive game of killing the same enemies every room you go into with the same combos, the combat is fast paced but it still gets boring after a couple of hours.

But damn if it isn't one of the most beautiful games out there.

Buy Atelier, Ys, or P4G instead if you haven't.

I wanted to buy Ys, P4G and Chrono Cross this month. This is great :D
Now if only they had thrown Trails in the Sky along with that it would have been perfect.

Oh well, I'll wait for the steam version in 2032

The boss fights are pretty dn good though.

So as someone who's never played a persona game and has no idea how they play, can someone give me the gist?

JRPG with Dating Sim elements.

You are a mysterious transfer student given the power to summon "Personas" or your "other self" to aid you in battles. Form "social links" with new acquaintances to make your Personas stronger etc.

It's a really good game. Well worth the price.

I want P4G.

When is Grace Chen timezone to EST?

When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east, when the seas go dry and mountains blow in the wind like leaves, when your womb quickens again, and you bear a living child. Then he will return, and not before...

So like 4 pm usually.

So, regarding Ys, I will get it, but now I'm utterly confused as to which part I should start of first. I have ys1 and 2, then there's ys7, so how does celceta fit into that? Also have yet to play trail in the sky which I heard is related to the series?\

edit: oh yeah, there's oath of felghana and origins too isn't there?
