I agree, and at least so far, that's what appears to be happening so...yay! I hope they don't get locked into a specific range of stuff. Especially now that the technology is going to allow so much more freedom than it did during the PS360 era as far as stuff they can shove in there.

Keep the creative juices flowing, instead of figuring out how to make the same game over again.

I really hope this is real. I guess this is 2015. That would make sense if Dark Souls 2 gets a ps4 version later this year. I have stoppet early in DS2 waiting for a ps4 version. Please from make a ps4 port!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dark action fantasy is a - sub - genre, and there's nothing wrong with refinement and iteration rather than the buzzword, and hype-needle that is innovation. The last thing fans actually want is something that fucks up the formula that they are hooked to. Its like asking Skyrim to be Dragon's Dogma for the sake of "creativity". If the forumla works, and the audience is there, why stir the pot?

I'd also note that while I loved DS and DS 2, neither felt like DeS. So an actual DeS 2 would be something I would rather enjoy.

Also, really hope this is further along than one would think with Miyazaki working on this in parallel with DS2.

One thing you have to remember is that King's Field had four main entries, Shadow Tower/ST Abyss and Eternal Ring were offshoots of that and took the series in two different types of experimentation. Now we have Demon's Souls and Dark Souls, and a supposed 'split' where Dark Souls 2 is a refinement combat-wise and Project Beast appears to be more experimental/advancing the formula. I don't see them 'falling into a pattern' any more than they've done before.
 
I'm feeling those feeling again. I just had a dream about this game and got up in the middle of the night to post in this topic even though i have somewhere to go in the morning...God dammit i wanted to wait at least 3 years before a PS4 purchase too. If i have to buy a console for one game this might as well be it.
 
Wow this looks completely awesome. I'm not even a Demon's/Dark Souls fan but this looks right up my alley. It really is a shame it's leaking now instead of at E3 but...wow. Can't wait.
 
Even though I would happily have another 10 Souls games, I would actually really like this to have an equally catchy name of its own. I'm just frothing at the mouth to know what From can do with a new IP for the new generation.

Honestly, it's the greed of trying to cater to a larger audience that has caused console RPG games to leave this realm that they used to exist in, and I'm SO happy to see a company find success by catering to a more core gamer. It's like returning to a Morrowind-esque TES game after appealing to the larger console audience has caused that franchise to become Skyrim.

Gamers can taste stale. And "develop-by-focus-group" RPG's taste stale. Thank GOD Japanese developers have not fallen into that trap (as well as other companies like CD Projekt RED).
 
So Good. I'm betting this is real and with that this is easily a day 1 buy.
Wonder what changes they'll be making to separate it from DSouls.

I just hope they keep the inter-connected world like DaS1 and don't rely on "select your world by clicking a statue" like DeS. When people are talking about "head to World 1-4" I start to wonder if we're still talking about an RPG or are we talking about a Mario game.

I think we are just talking about good video games, which come with no restrictions on how their worlds are set up.
 
Definitely keeping a close eye on this game. Wonder what kind of game it will end up being. Either way, the style definitely already has my interest in a big way. Look forward to learning more.

If i remember right i haven't killed anyone in all 3 Souls game, i just can't.
I read around that people killed X NPC to get Y weapon, you know like 'I killed Ostrava'. How can you kill Ostrava? it's like stabbing a good friend in the back for their iphone.

It only a has a 0.3 lower user score on Metacritic, and that's probably including some "FROM Lied, People Died" people. It's biggest critics are a small group of very vocal Miyazaki diehards.

This shit isn't Battlefield 4. The brand is fine.

I assume you're referring to Dark Souls 2?

These new shots don't exactly look mind-blowing and it's being designed for a new console. There's no reason to believe it won't look that way.

only one ive never killed is Emerald Herald and the cat cause shes immortal and related to MGR cat apparently
you get her feather for free so no reason to kill her
crestfallen was emo so he had to die
