I would like to think that GAF has collectively learned to not expect such technical proficiency with From Software. 1080p and a consistent 30 FPS would be a damn miracle.GAF when Beast Souls turns out to be 30 fps

Not sure I'd go that far, but this is a huge get for Sony. Even if it's not a direct sequel to Demon's Souls or even has Souls in the name and features guns, if it's anywhere near as brutal as Demon's or Dark, Sony will have a hit on their hands.
Lol you think a console Souls game is going to reach 30FPS.
It's not about the opinion, you said you haven't played the games because they feel too frequent. This one will be much closer than the others, but the others are less frequent than many franchises. If you don't play any yearly or bi-yearly franchises, that's fine of course, but it's hardly typical.I'll just chalk it down as unpopular opinion. If people are ready then so be it.
I think that's how it should be played.

What in the world does "[Port begging=ban]" mean?
I'm in the same spot. For 99.99999999999% you & me will be buying the PS4 hardware for this game, though. No biggie as I said earlier - the money waits in the bank.
Also:
- don't care if it is 30 fps
- don't care if it is 720p
The game could be 640x480, black & white for all I care.

miracle? Nah, not really. demon's souls was pretty smooth on ps3, surely less shitty thank dark souls console version. and ... this one is on ps4.I would like to think that GAF has collectively learned to not expect such technical proficiency with From Software. 1080p and a consistent 30 FPS would be a damn miracle.

What we don't know is what the timeframe is for this latest iteration...I'll just chalk it down as unpopular opinion. If people are ready then so be it.
Well, last gen we had the interesting situation where the PS3's fate was uncertain, Wii blew it up big out of nowhere, and 360 was initially ahead and still roughly toe to toe at worst outside of Japan, and combined with how blu-ray space wasn't QUITE essential at the start we saw a lot more hedge their bets on both, and when sales were roughly split it was probably worth the effort anyway.lol. Elitism of any kind is annoying. Though, in the case of many posts, it was simply a lack of information as people did not realise it was SCEJ.
I actually think console exclusives from third parties may be on the rise, most notably in Japan. With next gen costs rising many games that aren't big franchises already, I can see getting funded by Sony, MS and Nintendo.
For instance: Bayonetta 2, W101, Dead Rising 3, Deep Down, Beast Souls etc
I think its a good thing as these pubs possibly might not have made these games or taken the risk without funding.
Well, Demon's Souls and Dark Souls WERE "it's 30 or it's 15... if not worse" but when it was 30 it absolutely was 30.Lol you think a console Souls game is going to reach 30FPS.
Honestly, it's probably because they already know it's coming and have very clearly defined embargoes they are trying to abide by lest they burn some bridges.
Demon's Souls was anything but smooth.
It means if you make posts like this one you will probably get banned. What in the world does "[Port begging=ban]" mean?

The fact that it's by From Software is marketing enough to the people that matter. The souls games have been two different franchises but kept the same style and gameplay. It's a bit clouded. Announcing another souls game so soon would be pretty bad, this is highly unlikely to have a Souls name in my opinion.
Demon Souls is much smoother than both Dark iterations.Demon's Souls was anything but smooth.
It was not ideal but it run better than DaS probably due to the smaller levels.
That being said I'm curious to see if this game will continue the interconnected level style of DaS or the level based structure of Demon's...I can't wait to see more of this, hopefully we'll get a good amount of info about the game at this E3.
It means you shouldn't complain about it being an exclusive, say how much better it would look on PC etc. Just derails the thread.
Is this 100% confirm Sony exclusive? The thread title start with the word RUMOR though...

60 FPS on PC isn't really a remarkable accomplishment especially on a 360/PS3 focused game, all it requires is not building your game around a rigid FPS limit or handicapping the engine in some absurd way; years later and I doubt you can get Witcher 1 in 60 FPS stable STILL... except maybe if you overclock your CPU to very high levels, because the engine is heavily CPU bound and to raw Hz in a single core. And you can thank Bioware for that, CD Projekt Red just pushed their engine to its limits. They managed 60fps on the PC version of Dark Souls II...
Either way, I'd be fine with 30 if they have to drop it down to include more striking visuals.

This guy look too much like Soul Sacrifice guy

This is just one of many armor sets. Geez. I'm not sure why people are obsessed with the characters look. This is a Souls games and not some single player uncharted game with a set look for the main protagonist.
The few screenshots that got released have a pirate-y feeling to it and people were derailing the thread by saying this game should have harbors and stuff.
IT'S NOT EVEN CONFIRMED IT'LL HAVE SHIPS. STOP WHINING!
It's not even a pirate-y feeling, it's more like Warhammer Empire aesthetics combined with Witch Hunt/Van Helsing stuff than pirate-y. It's not even steampunk as a couple suggested, it's more like pure Dark Fantasy that's a century or two forward in time than Sword and Sorcery Dark Fantasy (like DeS). I don't know where people saw the pirates.
I think Dawg was being sarcastic.
Port begging = harbour begging.

Come on man the signs that this is a true Souls game by From Soft/Sony are all over the place...
1)We have been hearing rumours about Sony's and From Software's collaboration for a long while now
2)We knew that Miyazaki was working on something for quite some time along with his team that worked on Demon's and the original Dark.
3)These screens "scream" Souls Game all over them.I mean they even included a screenshot with a fog gate.
4)Demonite (a Sony employee here on GAF) has been hinting about this for a long time often using the word "beast" in his posts. And now this is leaked and guess what it's code named "Project Beast".
Well, in terms of development, it's hard to guess, because we don't know when it started, or when it's going to ship, but assuming most of the Dark Souls team went on to this project with some staying on to handle the DLC, and assuming it launches sometime next year, they've had over three years, maybe closer to four.I generally prefer games with longer development cycles since I don't have a lot of time on my hands. I usually wait for a while before I make a purchase too. To put it bluntly, I'm abnormal but there are certainly a few like me.
That still doesn't mean it ran at a stable 30fps. The game chocked everytime I destroyed a crate or a barrel.Demon Souls is much smoother than both Dark iterations.
