What could Microsoft show at E3 to finally get you to buy an Xbox One?

399$ and Halo5, with Marty O'Donnell's music releasing this year.
Show, all this stuff I'll buy it that very day.

Nothing really.

I have a ps4.

Ps4 will get a majority of the AAA games.

Ps4 seems to be getting the lions share of the Indies.

I vastly prefer Sony first party to ms's.

Ps4 will probably get the quirky Japanese games. Hopefully ni no kuni 2.

Its 100 bucks less.

I have a gaming PC.

I really did not find titanfall interesting.

Those are my reasons. Nothing personal against the system. Just seems like ps4 is covering all my bases. A few years down the line? Probably.

Edit: I suppose if they announced chronic trigger 2 of ff7 remake, I would have to reevaluate things.

Nothing. Not even a massive price drop. Not even some new IP that sounds awesome.

I'm happy with PC + PS4. I don't have as much gaming time as I used to.

Honestly, the only thing that might tempt me is managing to get Fallout 4 as an exclusive (and I'd be pissed off).

Actually, that might not do it cause if I have to spend money specifically for Fallout and nothing else, I'd rather buy a PC which it will do better on and I can get user mods on.

Other than that, I might buy an xbox one when it's pretty old and I can find it under 200 used if it gets a few exclusives that get me jealous (at least 3-4). So, there's nothing MS can announce at E3 that will tempt me. Even if they announce some good, non-Fallout games, I'd just wait until I can find it cheap used.

I might revise how much I'm willing to pay for an xbox one though if MS removes the paywall on apps. If I hadn't picked a PS4 already, that would make me more open as well to deciding xbox vs. PS (though most likely I'd still pick PS for Naughty Dog and better third party games unless MS announces a decent amount of interesting exclusives).

At what price? For 500$, *nothing*.

Seeing as I already own a PS4, MS is now asking me to spend more money on an additional console I certainly do not need.

If they want to sell me: 350$ with Kinect and Forza packed in. That's my price.

Nothing they show can sway me. Not 5 more Halos or 4 more Gears of War. Not Quantum, not Sunset, or 3 more Fables.

I made my decision when choosing my first, my primary home console. I chose the 100$ less expensive, but much more powerful, option.

I'll be fine with just my PS4 for several years. Wii U will be my next/second home console.

By the way, is there really a point in owning the two next-gen consoles since you'll have to pay two online subscriptions?

Nothing. There's nothing of interest to me that I can't just get with a PS4 at a cheaper price, and I still don't want one of those yet either.

By the way, is there really a point in owning the two next-gen consoles since you'll have to pay two online subscriptions?

That's pretty much why I picked two single player games. Still can't justify XBL Gold after what PS Plus is offering. I was a 9 year veteran of the service too.

I think PS4 needs a price cut. so my feelings towards xb1 are obvious. maybe drop the kinect to get the price down.

I bought my 360 when they announced the original Summer of Arcade.

If they did something like that again with Geometry Wars 3, Shadow Complex 2, and some promising original title, that would probably be enough for me.

I'll even be generous here and say 399 without Kinect, and an exclusive title thrown in.

I would use this machine in my current media room, but I just simply have no place for a Kinect.

1. My rack is in the back of the room, I use a projector and screen so I'd need about 50 feet of cable to run the Kinect to the front of the room. Even then, shadows cast on the screen from the projector make Kinect unplayable.

2. I don't have cable and "XBox On" is going to do nothing but turn the machine on....while I grab my Harmony and hit "Xbox One" to turn every other device on anyways.

3. I understand you don't have to hook the Kinect up, but I've also read doing so just makes the One constantly hound you that its NOT hooked up and that you should do so. I don't want a notification alert in the corner at all times telling me to do something.

At this point, nothing, as I've already made up my mind to go with the PS4 this generation. Were I still debating, a price cut and/or Kinect-less SKU alongside Crackdown 3 would probably be very tempting. I found Crackdown 2 to be disappointing, but a true sequel that built upon the first game would be amazing. I still hope that happens, the world needs more Crackdown in it.

A lower price, an exclusive that isn't names Killer Instinct for me to care about, and no Kinect could get to flinch, but a purchase is far away.

Microsoft has burnt through all of their matches for me.

Nothing, as its very redundant to have both PS and Xbox consoles, and I also don't like MSoft's Live policies or offerings, and their confused 2013 messaging leaves me wary of their near future. D4 and Quantum Break would have already sold me a system if I felt differently though, so I'm not saying they lack appeal.

I dunno, GTA6 exclusive? Something like that.
I mean, I'm gonna get one eventually anyway, but something like that would make me get it faster.

Show that they're actually going to support their hardware long-term, swear on not introducing stupid anti-consumer practices for the life of their business, show a good number of good exclusive games, and $250.

Unfortunately nothing. I've already committed my dollars to PS4 and upgraded it's HDD and bought many years of PS+. That shit ain't cheap. Can't justify also owning both machines and paying for two subs when they have a lot of the same games (with them running better on PS4). A handful of exclusives won't change anything.

a big budget open style 3d platformer would be hype. but to be fair no one outside of ea/mirrors edge is making any.
truthfully the xb1 is outside my price range =/.

By the way, is there really a point in owning the two next-gen consoles since you'll have to pay two online subscriptions?

Well for more or all the games, yes. But again, at what price.

Your main, primary console handles the lions share of all your needs. Any secondary, or third consoles are niche and as such, don't warrant spending much additionally.

Since PS4 will have everything I need, and Wii U can come after covering the rest.

The few exclusives and one month timed dlc doesn't mean much to me in terms of additional spending.

They really want my business, they need to show me, with an affordable and reasonable price that I perceive to match its value.

Currently, I see that as 350$ with Kinect and Forza packed in. No more.
They need my business, I have a PS4 and soon a Wii U, I don't need them.

I am not planning to buy one until 2016, alongside gears of war.

The only way they could get my money this year, or next, would be a massive $200 price cut (that's what i expect to pay in 2016, yes i know it's unrealistic at this time). Obviously at that price I would not expect, or want, Kinect in the box.

They have already done what was necessary for me. I will certainly be buying an Xbox upon the release of Gears 4. The continuation of the Gears franchise is something I approve of completely.

A big price cut. I won't pay more for an X1 than I did for my PS4. Also, drop he BS paywalls, and implement a PS+ like system instead of the current GWG. Finally show 3 or so new IPs so that they prove they're committed to creating new content and not just rehashing the same stuff again

All in all I doubt this is going to happen but hey, one can hope. More realistically I think they'll just do a $100 price cut, announce another Halo, another Forza, maybe tease another Gears and show off games we already know about like SO and QB, along with the regular CoD. I think it's going to be rather disappointing

Xbox Live Arcade:

Microsoft supported Phantasy Star Online 2, with all the current updates and same day updates as Japan.

Bring FASA back into the fold with Shadowrun Returns, Shadowrun Online and MechWarrior Online.

Throw some money Sega's way and bring the Saturn Panzer Dragoon Trilogy to Xbox One.

Oh, and throw in 1 vs 100 to the mix too.

Why in the world they cancelled the most original idea they had is beyond me. It had the whole family around the 360.

I don't get Halo, I've played most of them but it's not something that'd make me buy a system so I don't have that drawing me in but these would be a good start toward getting me to buy one...

Big exclusive games: PGR, a Rare game that's not shite, Crackdown, etc... Fresh stuff not suffocating grungy FPS with big fat space marines.
Huge price cut: I'm talking Wii U price not PS4 price.
Completely new forward facing staff/ PR team: Bye bye Larry, Albert and co, after what they pulled at launch, I'll never believe a word any of them says again. Also younger people that haven't been sat in a boardroom for the best part of 20 years, everyone at MS is middle aged and/or acts like it.
Relaunch: Relaunch the console, change the marketing materials, chill out with the oppressive blanket green and go back towards the white and green swirls of the 360. New console colours.

I think it'd also be nice if the console came with a directional mic aswell as or instead of the Kinect, for people like me who cover up the webcam on their laptop with electrical tape. I'd like to use voice commands but without the feeling of surveillance.

What they would have to do is so comically unreasonable that it will never happen, especially since we're talking about this E3. They need to clear three hurdles: 1. I think owning an Xbox One and a PS4 is redundant; 2. I don't care about any of Microsoft's first party games; and 3. I don't like the philosophy behind the Xbox One's design.

Looking to see some interesting new IPs from MS. Outside of Gears of War, their current crop of franchises don't interest me at all. If it's another Halo/Forza/Fable/Kinect type of E3 for MS, I'll probably be unloading my XB1.

Microsoft has to realize that not everyone likes shooters as much as they used to. Sunset overdrive is a nice start.

$399 price with no kinect
HD remake of halo trilogy
HD remake of Gears trilogy using UE4
1080p 60fps GTA V HD version (still haven't played it, waiting patiently for a PC version)
new forza horizon

It's just a wishlist but if microsoft could pull off most of that list, they would get my money.

Nothing as I'm sticking with one platform as I don't game enough to justify more than that these days.
Pretty much...can't justify buying all these different consoles anymore...I'm not in high school anymore where I game 10hrs a day...will pick up x1 towards the end of the gen unless it becomes the dominant platform...I like playing street fighter virtual fighter etc where the biggest online community is...
