So the kid Gwen was competing with to get into the program at Oxford, was that alluding to some character who might show up in the next movie?

Doubt it. The only one I could think of would be Amadeus Cho, but he would have handily beat Gwen Stacy. Plus Marvel owns him still, and they kind of used him in The Incredible Hulk. Made him white though. Either way, he is going to Oxford now.

yeah why did oscorp stop caring about gwen?

They sent a hitman to take out the parkers, its a different scale but you'd think they'd have been a bit more... proactive?

Does everyone agree the soundtrack is horrible?

Multiple songs with lyrics that are relevant to the scene, horribly cheesy outbursts during stuff like that train coming out of the ground, AND DUBSTEP ITSY BITSY SPIDER (not to mention Electro was dubstep incarnate).

I mean, really? Man this movie could've been so much better.

Random other qualms: airplanes scene was unnecessary, entire Parker parents plot was unnecessary and had barely any effect on the story, last 30 minutes should've been stretched out and more prominent.

I actually didn't recognize that as the spider song, but I loved that scene.

I actually really liked the soundtrack here. But funnily enough, I actually think Horner had the music of Spidey down.

Electro's theme was great, it worked well with him, it hyped him up a lot, I just wished they wrote him well to live up to it.

When I first saw that scene...I had already shaken my head at the bad chants at the first fight and why it was in it...I noticed it was a song and when it was the spider song, I started to roll my eyes. I did not need that.

I think it's less Spider-Man's fault here. In the movie, his web just reaches her a half-second too late to prevent her head from hitting the ground. In the comics, it's the way he snags Gwen with his web that snaps her neck.

I saw it as her back snapped in half, not that the head hitting the ground caused her death.

The blood running out of her nose, to me, indicates blunt trauma to the head. Not a neck or back snapping. But I'm not really qualified to say if that's accurate....does Doctor-GAF want to weigh in?

she died from all possible causes

It was actually a suicide on Emma Stone's part to get out of the series while she could

I'm with you on this, every time I heard the music it felt so out of place and just.. wrong. There were multiple points when a song came on and I just thought "I don't think the tone in the song and scene are matching at all...."

anyone else have a touching moment when the kid ran out at rhino that was a really emotional scene for me. "All those feels"

if the timing was different, at that time i was still baffled all these civilians are just chilling there instead of scrambling when a giant mecha is fucking shooting live rounds around there.

so whats the reason why electro's electricity barely fizzled spidey? And why couldn't he just do that backstab move he did on that oscorp exec's bodyguard for pierce damage?

Didn't they say it was the latex suit?

oh yeah... but how did he survive the whole charge of the power station restar- eh forget it.

what was the original reasoning behind them dad's experimenting on spiders anyways? Do spiders naturally have good immune systems that can kill cancer?

I believe it was the healing abilities, they were hoping to allow people's bodies to cure/heal damaged or mutated cells.

Hey, however you want to spin it. :p

As far as why didn't Electro just kill Spiderman with that electric zap... to me that's like wondering why thugs don't just shoot Batman at point blank or unload explosives on him. If Spiderman could be taken out by something like that it would be the lamest shit imaginable.

you know, for someone that just lost all access rights to oscorp, a bit odd that harry could just wear the armor and fly about like there is no security shit or anything for that.

Self-healing abilities that they wanted to apply to cancer/Alzheimers research.

It's odd that regular security guys were powerless against stopping Harry fly away? What?

Nah, the OST is the absolute least of this movies problems. Also I just don't hear the itsy bitsy spider in that clip, watched it 5 times, don't hear it, doesn't bother me.

Don't try to make sense of an Orci and Kutzman script.

Naw this is honestly a bullshit argument.

Doc Ock could've killed Spider-Man multiple times in SM2. Both in the bank scene, and final fight. When he has Spidey's head in that death grip, all he had to do was summon the knives in his claws. The thing about most superhero movies is that you can always go back and say shit like this lol. As terrible as Orci and Kurtzman are, this isn't something exclusive to them.

Yeah. I also love how there was enough time to cage off the walkways like it was some kind of wrestling match specifically saying "this is where people are allowed to stand."

Conversely, Spider-Man could have killed Ock at any point during that movie too. It's not as if he super strength or healing; he was a regular guy whose face could have broken pretty easily.

Yep, villains always have plenty of opportunities -- logically -- to kill superheroes. Like I said this could apply to most of them. But of course every argument I make is mental gymnastics, cuz I liked the movie.

Yeah but characters like Batman and Spiderman never actively try to kill.

no as in no security measures of the suit. I assume you need certain security clearance to use these top secret shit. And didn't mr exec just put the whole floor on lockdown before he bolted? Why did the green goblin door open?

bah.

That actually brings up a whole 'nother question for that movie that I need answered:

What the fuck did he need those in there for?

Yeah but characters like Batman and Spiderman never actively try to kill.

Well I don't mean he has to literally kill him. But at any point where Pete gets a punch in, he could have simply knocked him out or something. Super strength and all.

It makes even less sense at the end, where he's really hammering on his face point blank and Ock is completely fine. :lol

Yeah it makes sense why he wouldn't though cause he's not a killer, I think it's silly we're even having this convo lol. Electro's powers were pretty ridiculous, but I think you can also argue Spider-Man wouldn't be as susceptible or easily caught off guard as a mere Oscorp goon.

We may as well start asking why he didn't just web pull Goblin off his glider before he went after Gwen.

lol, at least he tried to do it before he dropped her. Gotta give him credit there.

Hell, that entire Goblin sequence was better than Electro's finale.

Most of the Goblin sequence was really well directed. One of the TASM franchises highlights for sure. I would like to get the Goblin laugh on my phone, as well as Peter's ringtone.
