Watch Dogs was pretty hyped. We all know how that turned out. But I'm looking forward to both games. I just hope there aren't any "From lied to us" threads. With great hype comes great disappointment.
 
WTF happened here. The hype train looks like it got sucked into another dimension.

Imagine if a short little video would leak, this thread would explode again.

If there's one thing you can't blame FromSoft for, it's a timely schedule for delivering content.

No 9 year (TLG) or 8 year (FFXV) dev hells, :).

TLG has extremely small dev team though, plus they've been working on other projects. Boy is the time ripe though to show something at E3 o__o
 
I've been playing Demon's Souls the last few days, and while it's not the best looking game or anything, but considering when it released, and how dense and rich the levels are, I actually think it's really good looking in person. Because it's so muted, it always looks like crap in screenshots, but it looks nice while running.

I'm expecting it to look good. I'm not expecting it to be the best looking next gen game because you're right, From Software isn't known to make the best looking games, but they're working with more powerful hardware so we'll see.

Thing is if Sony Japan is helping development can't we expect it to actually look really good? Not fantastic but above say normal FROM graphical output?

There were moments in DS1 and DS2 when the games looked incredible even on consoles.So i think i trust them a bit more than you especially since this game will be a PS4 only title,(a console that is admittedly more easier to develop than the PS3 ever was) something that allows From and Sony to try and push the graphics as much as possible.

I kind of doubt it. Sony Japan hardly did anything last gen and their games weren't the lookers compared to Western games.

I think Beasts will look ok, but will have a clean image quality. That's my guess.

Judging graphics from compressed/low quality screengrabs from a live stream of an unfinished game that wasn't meant to be shown to consumers yet is never a good idea.

It has been said (by Sony themselves) that this was the result of bad management something that has supposedly changed in the last few years since they changed the head of management there.
Kotaku had an interview about this subject some time ago with the guy who is currently SCEJ's project manager.
 
This topic has been kinda crazy. I've been trying to follow it over the weekend but I've only had access via my phone and it's moved so fast I haven't been able to keep up.

lamprey thing looks similar to the enemies that hide in the poison ponds in Black Gulch
in DS2 as well
