I remember Lance wiping the floor with me when I first played Gold/Silver, but I was 10 back then, so maybe that was why.
Also, Red, if he counts. Red still makes my life miserable, to be honest.
They better be trying to express the natural beauty that the region boasts. I hope GF realizes why people like Hoenn. They've lost their touch a bit with Unova and Kalos.
Hopefully it won't have luminous city lag or camera angles.
How are Lumiose City's camera angles?

IVs work fine as a way to make two Pokémon of the same species unique at the casual level. Especially now natures and EVs are so easy to manipulate and are almost visible.Honestly I think a better system if they wanted to keep the diversity is give every pokemon the same number of IVs but allocate it differently. You'd still have more optimal builds, but there'd be more variety and pokemon aren't going to be as blatantly superior just because you have more time
Annoying because it makes everything look really samey, so it's hard to tell where you are. That's also partially because the building all look similar, but that's never been much of a problem in previous games due to those having a largely zoomed out, overhead camera.
You have no control over the camera, so times it gets a bit squirly when you're exiting a building

IVs are only an issue in competitive play, where they can be a serious hassle.
Apparently Natures, sexes, attacks, abilities, and EVs don't exist. All due to the desire of flawless Pokémon. It's a shame. IVs are the genetics of Pokémon, it's plain and simple, and yet people keep clamouring for it to be removed and all Pokémon of the same species to be the same.
It'll definitely be the X/Y engine, but I doubt it's a straight remake. Hoenn had a lot of problems. (Oh look, more water!) that would need to be smoothed out. Also not sure if they'd want contests back.Im really hoping that if they do go full out remake and use the Pokemon X/Y engine they pan out the camera a little further. I miss being able to see big chunks of the area im in, everything feels too zoomed in in X/Y.

Natures are the only thing that factor in. Gender is irrelevant as they're equal. EVs are training and don't count.
You're losing the individuality of each Pokémon if you remove IVs.
It's like all humans. Are all humans good at running? No, it's genetics enhanced by training. This is exactly how Pokémon is.
Thought we'd established cynthia as pokemon's lightning?
Cynthia Returns: Pokemon Garchomp Platinum
Nintendo 4ds, coming 2020.
Bad genetics aren't very fun though. Aside from trick room teams, special attackers worried about confusion, and trying to round down on substitute, low IVs are always bad. You don't want to have to use bad characters in a game. I get that it adds uniqueness, but its at the cost as making a lot of Pokemon that get caught and raised inherently shitty. And that's not very fun.
Jesus Christ, don't go there. The fact that the game incentivizes breeding strong Pokemon and discarding the friends who got you to the end of the game invalidates any positive message you think IVs have.Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled trainers should try to win with their favourites

Besides, it's a game. It's supposed to be fun, and the only people with real reason to care about IVs don't find them fun in general.

Now that I think about it.
Can they even introduce new Megas? They'd need to patch XY, right? Would they do that?

Patching is tricky. If they do it so you can see any new forms/Mega Evos multiplayer only, then there will be no issues. Just make the patch mandatory and have ORAS give the ability to give the patch locally if necessary
However, if they patch it to the point of allowing any new Mega Stones to be traded, then that gets tricky. If someone downloads it, trades them over, and then deletes the patch, things could get squirly.
New forms though, they can get away without patching as they have done in past generations, and have the Pokémon appear in the older game as the standard Pokémon, but stat changes, ability changes etc. remain. None of the new forms in a generation have been in-battle changes though, which is why I am unsure how they'd do it should they introduce Mega Evolutions. It has tricky situations
Isn't it possible the stones are still in the code of X and Y? I mean I imagine the people who hacked it might have missed them, especially if they were less obvious than the latias/latios ones.
Na, I spoke to the hackers a few weeks back and got an item list off them and the only thing that we didn't have was the Shalour Sable item (recovery like Lava Cookie) and leftover data for something called the Travel Trunk, which lets you change outfit anywhere.

No it was legit but by the time you play the game you get caught up in the world so easily. The sense of adventure is just really strong in this game. Also since its being remade this is a perfect oppurtunity to fix that.. I didnt even think of that thanks.I've never played the 3rd generation so apologies if I'm mistaken, but I seem to remember a lot of people hating on it since it dropped a lot of features from gen 2 like the day / night cycle. Was the dislike an overreaction at the time?
I personally think it's the worst iteration in the series, but that's not saying much-- still a very good game. But it still dropped some features like you said, and had nothing special like the bug contest they had in Gold/Silver.I've never played the 3rd generation so apologies if I'm mistaken, but I seem to remember a lot of people hating on it since it dropped a lot of features from gen 2 like the day / night cycle. Well, I personally loved Hoenn so it really didn't bother me that much. Gen 3 added so many amazing things (like natures, abilities) that it wasn't a big deal to me.I've never played the 3rd generation so apologies if I'm mistaken, but I seem to remember a lot of people hating on it since it dropped a lot of features from gen 2 like the day / night cycle. Or the moment you saw your footprints left behind you in the sand. God, I love this gameThe moment when I first saw my reflection in Ruby...

Didn't they have Origin forms of Kami trio in the BW data but no one couldn't figure out what they were until BW2?
