The Order: 1886 new gifs and info

With Drive Club in August and The Order in September it looks like the PS4 will have a good holiday.

Wonder if they have anything big planned for October, November or December.

I don't know what to think of this game right now.


On the one hand I like the Arthurian influences, the artworks and the costume design are so cool, and I trust Ready at Dawn.

On the other hand, I don't like what we have actually seen of it.


I'm hoping that they will show us something great at E3.



Edit: What is going on with these previews ? I mean, Driveclub, Murasaki Baby, now The Order, what's the point of their E3 booth if they show all their big games to the press before ?
 
The game play bit they released a while back really soured me on this game but nobody can deny this looks absolutely stunning. Older CGI quality. The the textures, subtle lighting and cloth physics are some of the best I have ever seen. It helps that the setting and art direction is so compelling. I really hope the gameplay is way way more interesting than what they have showed.
 
I know people hate QTE but their "branching" QTE looks similar to how The Wolf Among Us handles fights. You look to the right and grab a see a wall to smash their head through or look down and see a knife and pick it up and stab a guy.

The Order will be like a next gen Heavy Rain/Beyond with third person cover shooting.
It won't be this huge open world experience with tons of things to do, but a 10h linear cinematic experience focusing on telling a story, I also expect it to be controversial because many people don't like cinematic adventure games and most importantly many are still confused about what the game is, they seem to expect Uncharted or Gears of War with a victorian London next gen setting. It won't be like that.
I'm not sure if it will make it in time for September but I really doubt that it's going to miss a fall release.

Well it's dark. And TLoU was dark. And there's monsters, and TLoU had monsters. And it's third person, and TLoU was third person.

Gears of War confirmed?

Honestly have no clue how it even enters the mind with this game. I mean it's a steampunk Victorian setting lol.

What makes you think so? I'm expecting a third person shooter with some "scary segments" and a good atmosphere. QTE won't be a key factor in the game, just an addition for melee combat / make some cinematics more interactive.

If they release this game in September and DriveClub in October, what are they going to release in November?
 
Woah, it has been awhile since I took a look at the gameplay GIFs of this game.

So freakin stunning it is ridiculous. September sounds like a solid release date for the game, but I'm thinking it will be closer to the Holidays. Unless Sony has a secret we don't know about, that would be The Order in September, DriveClub in October but nothing for November / December holiday rush.

Cannot wait to see what E3 brings for this game. I have a feeling the physics engine is going to blow minds.

Lol, exactly. I could even understand somebody making the comparison to GoW, it's a third person cover shooter.
